high quality usb enclosure and v.good cloning s/w

Terrific construction. Much more solid than the Dynex enclosure BB sells next to it. The hard drive tray consists of a circuit board that is about 1.5 inch longer than the 2.5" hard drive. Because the LED and other circuitry is on the tray, you will need to take greater care with it when attaching or disengaging the hard drive from the tray, and due to this slightly unorthodox layout, you can run the risk of breaking the SATA connector (it's still decently sturdy, so it's certainly not like eggshells and jello!). The advantage of the layout is that there is an easy-to-use "open" button, and a front facing LED, opposite the USB cable, unlike traditional enclosures like Best Buy's Dynex. The tray sits on 2 plastic (teflon?) rails, that provide extremely smooth removal of the tray. The cloning software duplicated my Win8.1 installation with all security/recovery partitions, and my laptop recognized and was up and running off the SSD within 7 seconds. I was using v3.5 of the software, which is available on Apricorn's website -- the package contained v.3.0.1 of the software (pretty much identical in operation and success). The only problem thus far is that the SSD does not report it's free space correctly (it shows more than it should, but this may be because I rearranged some of the default partitions set by my computer manufacturer). This software looks for and will only clone to a hard drive connected to an Apricorn device.
