Very good 4K presentation.

But, the the 4K version clearly benefited from an increase in resolution, emboldened color and High Dynamic Range. While not a bright film the use of HDR added dimension to blacks and shadows in low light scenes such as the descent into the Trench and the Ring of Fire battle. HDR's ability to render stark contrasts between dark and light elements looked great! Caveat Emptor: Unless you have an OLED TV or a high end quantum dot TV you would be wasting your money on the 4K version in which case a standard 1080p Blu-ray would suffice. I found the movie enjoyable, but the script was very predictable and at times the humor was overreaching. There were also no extras.

Fun, but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really was enjoying this movie until they went to the desert, and then it developed some pretty significant pacing problems and never really recovered. Black Manta is kind of a weak villain as well. Still some fun moments though. Where else are you gonna see Willem Dafoe ride a hammerhead shark?
