Ok, we've heard it all. Its a Micheal Bay film...Ben Affleck is terrible...another "Bruce Willis" kind of movie. But this movie is my favorite movie, and here is why. Its more than just about an astroid on a collision course with Earth. Its REAL story is about an average group of Americans who get thrown into an environment they have no purpose being in, and still find a way to work together to overcome all odds. This movie is perfectly casted, scripted, and the music just adds to the dramatic nature of the film. With the actors...its SO EASY to see them as the character they play. I don't know Ben Affleck, but I can easily see him as "AJ" in real life. A cocky big headed 'know it all'. I can keep going. For Armageddon to get the bluray makeover, will take this movie to the next step and show (in detail) how great this movie truly is. CANT WAIT!

4 of 5 stars for this sci-fi movie. A global killer--nothing survives, not even bacteria. An asteroid the size of Texas is en route to the Earth. With only 18 days before impact what do you do? Some early arriving asteroids (basketball size) rake NYC doing extreme damage. The only choice? Nuke it. How do you do that? Send a crew to drill a hole into the asteroid, implant the nuke, blast-it to break the asteroid into little bits. OK, who do you get to drill the hole? How about a crew of rough-necks (lead by Bruce Willis)? Things get complex when it turns out the asteroid is solid metal and it breaks drill bits. Very strong acting and characters. Willis really hits a home run with his character. Great special effects. The concept is a bit old, but, this is a fresh version. I do recommend this movie!

This movie is a must in your collection. Now that its in bluray the film looks great. Its probably one of the best films that Bruce Willis has. Overall great action and tension of the movie.

I bought this as a gift for my mother for Christmas (her first blu-ray title, along with a blu-ray player) as it is one of her favorite movies, and it was a hit. I watched it and the picture and sound (moreso) are pretty good compared to the old dvd. A great update if you're considering upgrading from the DVD

This film deserved this edition solely on the fact that it had ground breaking effects. Some of the acting is heavy handed and story is a tad far fetched, but it was a summer popcorn movie and is still a fun ride.

An action pack movie that didn't have any gunplay until close to the end, but with so much emotion that had this grown man about to cry (ok, a couple tears came)

One of the best movies ever made. A must to watch.

Other than a few select moments, Armageddon is a pretty lame movie. Widescreen, but not much in terms of bonus features. Skip it.

'Armageddon' gets loaded Criterion treatment here on this expensive dvd set, that I'm not sure this film really deserves.
