Not sure why creator Sam Raimi took to change film into complete comedy after the epic EVIL DEAD that scared people when it was released, but still Funtime at the movies!

Speakers are in a different place then what I am used to but they work pretty good for the price

This is a classic movie and must have. They should make a Lego game of it.

This is one of my favorite crazy films of all time, so judging by the pure fun and enjoyment I get out of watching it I could rate this as Excellent. However, the disk has almost no extras. Also I prefer the Director's Cut which should have been the version released on Blu-ray. The picture is fantastic though, practically leaping off the screen at times, which is good and bad in that sometimes you can see clearly that the backgrounds (for instance) are matte paintings, etc. which isn't the fault of the makers of the disc. Overall it's a so-so package for a great, fun movie, even if it's not the best version of it. If it eventually comes out on Blu-ray, purchase the Director's Cut! If you don't the deadites will swallow your soul!

4 of 5 stars for the ah ah sci-fi? action? fantasy movie Army of Darkness. I first looked at the cover art and read the liner notes and thought "here we go with a real-B movie, sigh". I started watching and it was funny and interesting. Watching the Blu-Ray I was really impressed with the image quality--super sharp and clear, it looked almost like video rather than film. So early-on, I'm thinking this is a spoof movie, but no, it was a straight fantasy/comedy movie. Then it hit me! This is a tribute to the Ray Harryhousen movie (Sinbad). Then I noticed this movie has everything from stop-action creatures, alot of rubber suits and alot of real models of creatures. Yeah, some CG, but not much. It really has the look and feel of the old Sinbad movies. The plot is of a "S-mart" sales guy getting transported to the 1300's to fight against Deadites and recover an artifact book. Bruce Campbell did an outstanding job in the lead role. This movie was a pleasure to watch. Stupid comedy in places, old-style effects, silly quest and it is all fun fun fun! This is on my watch-it-again list.

This movie is not supposed to be good. It is supposed to be so bad it is funny. It does that very very well. I was entertained from start to finish. The acting is fair at best. The camera and special effects are just plain silly. Leave your sence of reality at home and get ready to ride your "suspension of disbelief" long and hard. If you can do this you will have a great time. My son and I laughed through the whole thing. It is just great!

Come on, do I really need to write a review for this?! One of the most iconic B horror comedies of all time, Bruce Campbell at his finest... I could watch this 100 times and not get tired of it. Oh wait... I have! I bought the blu-ray because my DVD didn't work any more lol. Gimme some sugar baby!

This is one of those "bad" movies that really gives me that nostalgic, going back to 12 years old, feelings. Is it cheesy, campy, overacted? yes. Is it absolutely fantastic? In my opinion, yes. I love the entire Evil Dead series, including the new tv show. While this one might not be technically the best movie, it is by far my favorite.

Great movie. A great mix of humor, violence, action, and acting all rolled into one. A cult classic for sure. Just buy it. You'll love it! I'll get the blu-ray and give my other copy as a gift.

This really shouldn't need a review after so long but the bottom line is: If you are looking for campy horror then there IS NO OTHER. This, Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, you cannot have a bad night with these movies.

I SAW IT, I BOUGHT IT, NO REGRETS. FIRST SAW THIS MOVIE 15 YEARS AGO AND TO THIS DAY REMAINS ONE OF MY FAVORITE ALONG WITH EVIL DEAD AND EVIL DEAD II. BUY IT!

I enjoy comedy/ horror movies and this is one of the best. The BLU-RAY allows you to see the dark forest scenes much better. Liked it so much I bought all 3 movies!

the last installment of evil dead what was once a horror movie turned now into comedy but did so in a great way... you gotta love bruce!

Sam Rami directed 3 Evil Dead movies. Each film progressively evolved from low-budget horror to moderate budget comedy. This is the final and most campy of the three. Blu ray quality is fine.

this is the typical movie you would watch when you just want to see something that is fun and you don't want to spend any energy trying to figure out the plot. it ranks with the likes of big trouble in chinatown
