It does burn the rice at the bottom. I've made brown rice in this rice cooker a few times and each time the rice at the bottom was burnt. I recommend anyone thinking of buying this rice cooker to do as others have recommended: Turn off the rice cooker when it is done.

Posted .Hello! A simple solution for this is in the water ratio. If you lessen the water input, it should produce a drier rice. It may take some trial and error to figure out what combination of water and rice works best to make you completely satisfied.

Am going to keep it because even though it is designed specifically for rice, it will do other things and it's not worth my gas and bother to return it.

It was shipped to us in the original manufacturer's box (not enclosed in a shipping box). When we opened the box, we discovered the lid was partially bent and did not fit properly. If we had bought the product at full price, we might have been completely satisfied. To Best Buy's credit, the return and purchase refund were handled well and in a timely manner.
