I think that "Arrival" is one of the greatest and inspiring sci-fi films of all time and is also one of my favorite films of all-time. I also think that "Arrival" had a lot of entertaining and enjoyable action, mystery, suspense and drama including a really great and amazing cast and personal storylines as well.

Ignore this review. I haven't watched the film yet and am just reviewing it because BB bugged me too. I like Amy Adams and she got nominated for an Oscar for the role, so it can't be bad. And I like intriguing SciFi films, so I bought it when in the store.

This is an interesting Sci-Fi movie, that presents interesting concepts not really explored in an alien movie before. The transfer looks nice and the special features were interesting too.

Arrival is the antithesis of Independence Day. It's not a Hollywood blockbuster extravaganza, but an intelligent, emotional sci-fi drama. Amy Adams delivers her best performance to date as a linguistic specialist who develops a bond with the alien visitors. A bold, suspenseful film that will stay with you.

I was excited to see Arrival. Critics were raving about it. It got nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. It must be a great film, right? Either it went completely over my head or it's not worth all the hype it got. It wasn't a bad film, but it was rather boring from start to finish. Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner basically spend two hours trying to learn the visiting aliens' language so they can eventually ask them why they have come to earth. Once they find out, in a very vague and anticlimactic response, the film is more or less over, and you really have no idea what the point was. I was pretty disappointed to say the least. I should have just gotten the dvd from Netflix instead of buying it.

This is a terrific science fiction film, based on an equally fine short story. Excellent character development and performances, especially by Amy Adams (terribly snubbed by the Oscars). Not just your standard first contact plot, but a mind bending exploration of time, language. communication, love, and loss.

Great movie, kept you interested the whole time. You really need to understand the language of the aliens like she did, in order to understand what the Aliens were trying to tell us. As I said mind boggling. Pay attention to the ending of the movie, to really understand the whole plot of the movie. Very good.

This was a good movie. It has great acting and a very complex story. It's not your normal alien invasion type movie. It's more dramatic then action filled, but it leaves you wanting more and guessing if you understand what you just saw. I recommend it.

This movie is nothing what I expected it to be. However, to say my expectations were exceeded is an understatement. It's not an action-packed Alien movie, but it is very well-paced and rewards you with an incredibly inspiring and thought-provoking twist that will stay with you long after the credits roll.

If you think you've seen it all, you probably have. And then you see a movie like this and you find yourself holding your breath waiting to see what will happen, stretching your mind to figure out what is happening as the pieces are revealed, and actually interested in the plot. Wow! What a refreshing movie.

my daughter and i watched together. the movie was good but seemed to us to be very slow. you dont realize whats going on until the end. may watch again to see things that i probably missed the first time around. had to explain alot to my 14 year old.

The mixed reviews are disappointing. This movie was excellent. It's not an action movie. The people who said it was boring were expecting a Star Wars/Star Trek style action thriller but it was more intellectual, similar to Interstellar and The Martian. If you enjoyed Interstellar you'll enjoy this.

This movie is more thoughtful than your typical alien encounter movie. There is a lot more emotion and character development. The whole process of learning how to communicate is very interesting. Also has some twists that make you think. Recommended.

Arrival is a unique story of an alien encounter. The storyline is engaging and the acting and directing keeps the viewer engaged throughout. The HDR picture quality is good, but not up to par with most other movies I have purchase in the HDR format.

Though I love a good sci fi alien flick, wow did this movie turn around and completely surprise me. There's a fantastic twist to the story and though it seems slow-moving and disjointed at first, the pieces all wrap together nicely at the end. I recommend for a "something different" kinda movie night.

This movie is a very different kind of movie. The sound is reference grade, the sound from the jets, and helicopters makes you feel like you are there. The deep sounds from the sound track very different. The story line is great, any moves right along. This film is highly recommended and is a must see.

This came out during a time she was making tons of movies it felt like, so I thought hmmm how good can it be. IT IS SO GOOD. I wished I had watched it back to back but started watching passengers after being blown away from this one and wow did that movie suck didn't even finish it. This is a must.

I saw this movie in the theater and missed a lot of details but liked the story so I was happy to watch again at home I was not disappointed it's not a high tension or action film but a different take on aliens visiting earth I recommend it enjoy!

Am purchasing a home theatre system through Best Buy including a DVD player for the ultra high definition 4K. This movie was reviewed well do I bought it without ever seeing it. It will be like going to the movies to see it for the first time.
