My wife asked me to buy this movie because she took the boys to the theatre and liked it. She wanted to see it a couple more times. I bought the bluray version but wish I bought the 4k version because I just bought a 4k player. I hope to watch it soon.

Can't recommend this highly enough! The real Best Picture winner in my book. Amy Adams gives a powerhouse performance in this cerebral sci-fi flick that's more than it initially seems. BUY, don't rent it.

This is an extremely underrated movie; most people I talk to haven't heard of it before. It's one of the best sci-fi films ever made and looks stunning in 4K.

It's hard to talk too much about the film without giving things away, but Amy Adams is so great in the movie that you don't need much else. However, the story is an incredible one, so I recommend it for that reason too. Just an all around great film.

This movie is compelling in a very mindful way. I loved the concept of how the character figured out her methods to discover a way to communicate and ultimately discover her true gift. This story seems al.ost plausible which makes it easier to enjoy.

This movie was nominated for best picture. Note: this is NOT "The Arrival" starring Charlie Sheen. That movie is pretty cool. I mean the aliens in that... their knee caps bend backwards. Wow.

I enjoyed this a lot. It approached the Scifi genre in a very atypical way. I wish it was a bit longer so the story and characters could be fleshed out more. But, all in all, it was done very well.

Interesting story about language and how important that is to getting along with others. You need to pay attention to this one as there are flashbacks or flashforwards in time as the story unfolds.

Had to think a lot during this movie. Cinematography was amazing and storyline was interesting. The ending has you thinking. Steelbook design is pretty basic.

Not much in the way of action. Just a good story. Good enough for me to double dip for a Steelbook. I like the front cover art on this series of Steelbooks. The rest of the art a bit plain.

Extremely original plot. It is not just science fiction. The actor do a fantastic job. Very good effects. Hopefully, there will be a sequel. The development of new technology, etc is very interesting (language). It is a must to see this one.

This is one of the better alien movies. Most have the aliens attacking the world which should we ever have an encounter is a possibility. But I think we could have a "close encounter" where they are trying to communicate with us to help. Excellent.

Above solid Blu Ray with great presentation, and an excellent science fiction flick that's really smart and doesn't pad around the edges. The case is pretty neat also. Very much well worth it for the film and awesome price.

This was one of my first 4K movie purchases. Beautiful movie and visually incredible. The digital download that was included also works great and is extremely convenient for watching on other devices besides the television.

The arrival of non-lethal, benevolent aliens (though they remained undocumented) with superb acting, writing and effects is one of the fresh points of the entertainment year. Too far out for some, but deserving of Oscar nods in several categories.

A "thinking" sci-fi movie. One of the best movies I've seen in years. Great cast, direction, special effects & communicating with aliens. Great story & screenplay. Not an invasion/shoot 'em up movie but more of a close encounter of the third kind.

This movie is deeper from the standpoint of physics than it appears on the surface as the alien perspective of time as a dimension is different from ours. This is actually not the main theme of the movie, but was very interesting none the less.

I was surprised by this movie. Unlike your normal action flick, this movie actually stimulates the thought process. How do you communicate with a totally alien species not intend on seeing your leader and what does the message mean? Great stuff.

When I saw Arrival for the first time I was blown away. I must have seen it about another 10 times since. So I thought I should by this movie and see again whenever I want.

I am an avid sci-fi fan. This was one of my favorites. It was extremely well written and showed the many difficulties that could be experienced in a first contact situation. It also showed the many shortcomings that mankind has yet to overcome.
