It's not fantastic but definitely isn't the worst video game movie ever. You can skip the 3D.

The action is done well. Plot is ok enough to last for a movie but not starting a movie series.

This movie may not be for everyone, but I really enjoyed it. Fassbender is great, and the visual style really stands out. If you're a fan of the games, I'd say give it a shot. But, it may not be exactly what you're looking for in an Assassin's Creed movie. If you're looking for an action/adventure movie with an interesting story and visual style, this will likely fit the bill.

I went in to this movie not knowing what to expect. I wasn't sure if it would mimic the game or if it would be totally different. The movie starts out ok, but then rapidly declines. By the end of the movie I had no idea what it was about or why I was watching it. The actors were top notch though. The movie was below average at best.

It’s worth the pick up… but wait for a sale. For the sale price, this movie was at a great price market for me. I would have happily paid a bit more but not the full cost. I have never played A.C. the game (I’m not a gamer) so I knew nothing of the mythology. I only know what the film introduced to me-I liked it. Michael F tends to be in some cool projects/flicks. I recommend for a fun experience. It’s science fiction so don’t get yourself too worked up about things that might not make since-just seat back and chill out. You’ll enjoy

The movie got poor reviews, I believe in part because most people who went did not understand the Animus, etc. That is where it became a problem. I think if they would have created movies leading up to the Animus, where they created movies of Ezio, Altaire, Kenway, etc then came to the future, it would make more sense, of Callum Lynch being put into the animus, etc. I loved the movie though, and would recommend it to others very highly. Please know though, that to enjoy this movie completely, you will need to know that they have to enter the animus and have the blood of their ancestors to access what happened. I enjoyed it greatly. Love the artwork on the cover as well!!!

Somewhat like the game... overall fun film to watch especially if you played the game.

They wanted a fresh script, ok fine. But the Altair or Ezio stories are so good why not do them? The Spainish story turned out ok, but not enough back story or time to develope. Not enough parkour and city exploration for me. Took a bit to get used to the mobile Animus version, but it worked for the movie, so in the end helped with the little bit of parkour they did.

I enjoy it. This is one of the movies that it will take me long time to watch it again.

The movie was not as action packed as i thought it would be but it was still nice to watch

I enjoyed the movie, thought it was well done with a good story, but I never played the game. My son has played the game and thought the story was a little thin, he would like to have more of the back-story in the plot. But he thought it was good, as far as it went. Definitely worth watching.

Assassin's Creed is based on a video game of the same name. It is an entertaining movie for its length, but is very shallow compared to the gaming franchise. I would recommend renting this movie and not purchasing it. If you are a big fan of the gaming series, then either you already own it or are not interested in it. However, since this one contains the 3D version, you may want to purchase it for that reason alone. Basically it is about a group of thieves who are trying to prevent a secret organization from gaining ultimate control over the world. The secret organization has a computer that allows certain people the ability to access memories of their ancestors, which happen to be thieves who have a device that may allow this secret organization the ability to remove "free will" from the populace.

Probably a halfway decent entertaining action movie (IF you have never played the games). If you've played the games, prepare to be disappointed.

The movie is just ok. It really did not gave justice to the game where it was based.

Very entertaining movie that expands once imagination into what might be possible in the future. Unfortunately the 4K doesn’t bring anything more into view as other 4K movies it might be in the technical aspects or may be the visionary side of the house. Anyway it’s a very enjoyable movie and I would highly recommend this movie to anyone that enjoys action movies.

I never played the game so had a slightly hard time figuring out the bad guys from the good. Michael Fassbender gave excellent performance and special fx were incredible. You really need to pay attention to dialogue in order to keep track of story. My wife was lost in first 20 minutes bless her heart. If you like action and the game you should love the movie.

Interesting take on the Assassin's Creed game series. I felt a little lost at times, but I couldn't imagine a better role filled by anyone other than Mr. Michael Fassbender. The effects were very cool in this film and the acrobatic performances were on key. Definitely worth a watch and the Steelbook edition is a great collector piece for your collection.

The frenetic action is Assassin’s Creed’s saving grace. Inventively choreographed and beautifully executed, its game-inspired brand of action delivers some genuinely awe-inducing feats. A mid-carriage-chase wall-flip and a dead-eye ricochet shot steal the breath and are delivered with a dizzying, kinetic energy that helps compensate for the dramatic lulls.

As video game movies go, it’s decent. Good effects, but not much of a story.

I am new to the Assassin's Creed community and became hooked when I saw this at the theater. Purchased this for my collection and am looking forward to the next installment. The story line hooks you and the special effects are pretty cool. I love it when the assassin just falls forward off the building and glides down to the ground.
