This headset is amazing. It connects to your phone and you can control it from your phone. The thing i like most about it is when the headset just stops working and you cant hear anything, i also like when the headset randomly turns the sound up so loud i feel as if my eardrums are gonna blow. What i like even more is the footsteps setting. With this setting you can hear everything execpt for footsteps. I do not recommend throwing away 240 bucks for this piece of junk. Logitech cant seem to make a good headset. And its sad ive only had this headset for two days and its already having problems, never again will i buy a logitech headset

Do not buy. The Bluetooth always gets disconnected and have to unplug and plug in the device. sometimes it won’t even shut off. And when I join a party I have to turn it off on like 3 times for it to register for me to talk which is weird cause I can hear the game and my party talking but they can’t hear me! Then when I used it for my phone and was watching Netflix after 30 min they drop and my movie stops. I knew I should of returned them when I had the chance. Never again

Great Sound and Nice to Look At

I finally unplugged myself from wired headsets earlier this year because wires just get in the way when you’re gaming/streaming and there’s nothing more annoying than when you forget you’re wired and get caught on something and that mishap causes a ripple effect. For a while, I had heard about the Astro brand headsets. I am familiar with their controllers and know they make great products and have excellent customer service. I jumped at the opportunity to own their A30 Gaming Headset. Package and Set Up: The box itself is very minimalist. Inside there’s a hard-shell carrying case that houses your A30 headset, charging cord, analog cable (to plug directly into your controller if desired), microphone, and USB transmitter. The A30 already has a substantial charge right out of the box. I plugged the USB transmitter into my Xbox Series X and within a couple of minutes, my headset was connected and delivering rich Dolby Atmos sound into my ears. If you want to customize your experience then you need to download the Logitech G app which allows some intricate customization. Performance and Comfort: The A30 provides some sharp detailed sounds without distorting the hard bass that I would get with some other headsets. There’s no audio loss when it comes to this headset. The A30 can also be paired with other devices such as an iPhone, Google Pixel, etc. via Bluetooth. Again, the audio is superb when listening to music or watching a movie. If you wear prescription glasses or gaming glasses then you’ll find that there’s no discomfort during those long gaming sessions. You don’t need to adjust the ear cushions for your glasses. Speaking of the ear cushions, I found that they block out any noise in the room. They are snug but not too snug to the point where they start to hurt after a few hours of playing Warzone. Do They Work with PS5? Some might ask, ‘does the A30 headset work with the PlayStation 5?’ Well, yes and no. What I mean by that is that you can plug the USB transmitter into your PS5 and the system will recognize the headset but the sound is VERY LOW no matter what you adjust within the console settings or on the headset itself. You can use the analog cable and plug the A30 headset directly into your PS5 controller but that kind of defeats the purpose of a wireless headset. However, when plugged in, the A30 utilizes the 3D audio that the PS5 provides. Little Things: The microphone doesn’t sound too bad when you’re talking into it during a stream or talking to your crew in an online game. It’s not horrible but it’s not great. Also, I wish there was a way to tune the audio feedback so that I can hear myself better instead of feeling the need to talk unnecessarily louder. Perhaps this may be addressed in a future update. I Love the Design: The actual aesthetic of the A30 is alluring. I will say that this is a headset that drips with class. I am looking forward to changing out the Speaker Tags when more become available. There’s nothing better for a gamer to have than a customized look to their setup. At the end of the day, the A30 Gaming Headset delivers what’s important, heart pounding sound that immerses the player all while being comfortable. While it can be paired with PC, Switch, Xbox, and other devices wirelessly, I wish it allowed me to also pair it with my PS5.

The A30 Wireless Dolby Atmos Gaming Headset is a great accessory for gamers looking for good comfort, sound and convenience. The included case keeps everything conveniently located and safe. Multiple connection options makes connecting to your devices is quick and easy. The included lightspeed USB-A transmitter can be used for seamlessly connecting to your XBOX or PC. Bluetooth is an additional connection option if you want to connect to your smartphone or other device or you could choose the 3.5mm wired connection if Bluetooth is not an option. Battery life is amazing and when needed charging is easy with the included USB-C/USB-A cable. THe sound quality is great with Dolby Atmos support, you feel like you are in the game with sounds coming from all around you. The Logitech G app allows you to further customize the sound to your preferences with multiple presets and customizations. The headset provides clear audio whether you use the built-in mic or the detachable boom with dual mics. The headset it light and does not pinch and offers plenty of adjustability for maximum comfort for any length of gaming session. Various onboard controls allow for easy mixing of chat/game sound and the ability to easily mute. Would recommend this to any gamer looking for a high end headset offering comfort, compatibility and surround sound.

I used to own a pair of a30s about 12 years ago and they were the best headset I've ever used. Throughout the years I have bounced between astro (a40s) and other various turtle beach products but I was never truly happy with them. I decided to go with the a30s again because I was hoping that lightning would strike twice and I would have found the perfect headset again, but unfortunately this was not my experience. PROS: - The app that you have to download is pretty easy to use and I like how you can create different sound profiles and adjust the eq on the fly. - The headset is very lightweight and never gave me any feeling of tension on my head during 2-8 hour gaming sessions. - Build quality was great. No creaks, or plastic sounds when adjusting. - For me these were the most comfortable headphones I've worn since my original pair of a30s. The ear cups, the headband, the lightweight materials, it was really quite nice wearing these. CONS: - I had connectivity issues with the app and when trying to use my xbox. I was able to stop the issues by going into the app settings and adjusting the auto off function when the headset was inactive. Problem was that headset was not inactive at all. But whatever I could probably forgive this issue since I seemed to fix it but I figured I'd mention it in case someone else has the same problem. - I was not able to turn these off with the power button multiple times after one week of ownership. They sat on all night unbeknownst to me and were almost dead when I tried to use them. There was a way around it with some button presses but I should be able to turn off my headset with the power button. - The volume would blast to 100% randomly. I had this happen twice and since this is the loudest sounding headset I've ever used it was not pleasant at all to have this happen unexpectedly. - Astro took the custom speaker tag function off their website. It might be stupid but I like to customize my things and I was looking forward to this since I did them on my original pair. Sad to see that they took that feature away about 5 months ago. - There were a few occasions where I'd get random beeps but I don't know what they meant. There's no instruction manual in the box and the QR code they give you doesn't help either. I can't speak a whole lot on the microphone quality as I did not have a chance to use them, but I did do one test on the internal mic and it seemed to work pretty good. I don't think that mic quality would be an issue overall. Bummed that these didn't work out but since other reviews mention similar issues maybe I shouldn't be surprised.

I’ve never had an Astro headset, I’ve always bought Turtle Beach for my Xboxes, and Logitech for the PC. The packaging is genuinely nice, sturdy, but not gaudy or full of extraneous stuff, there seems to be a little bit of thought in making the packing minimal but still feel like it’s high quality. Save the planet and all. The connection to the Xbox and PC is very simple, you can just plug in the USB-A dongle, and it’s paired and ready to go. You can also connect via Bluetooth with your phone or PC, and I think PS5 has Bluetooth as well. There is no lag at all when using the dongle, and I don’t hear any Bluetooth-ish compression. Bluetooth pairing is super simple and being able to listen to my music while gaming is just amazing. The headset looked like it might be a bit tight for me, as I have a giant head, but it fits great with solid but gentle clamping force, it even looks like it has room for fatter heads than mine. The earpads are soft and I did not have any issues with them being hot while using. I used them for 6 hours straight and did not feel hot or uncomfortable. The materials of the whole headset show where your money went, everything feels great, the textures are unique and very pleasant. These feel like they are going to last for a good while. Setup with the Logitech G app was quick and easy, I really like the slider for chat/game balance, though the wheels on my Turtle Beach headset is easier to mess with than an app. It’s a setting that needs adjustment more often than I would like to stop and pick up my phone, find the app, then make the adjustment. The app’s equalizer works best with small adjustments, if you get too crazy cranking up the bass, it smothers the rest of the sound, I wish it gave a little more frequencies to push up and down to shape the curve. The app also has the option in it to switch from “Console Mode” to “PC Mode”, I’m not clear on what the differences are, as Logi does not seem to think it’s important to give too much information to users. The Logitech G software on the PC does not see the headset via Bluetooth or via the Lightspeed dongle, so we’re still stuck with the phone for adjustments. I like the sound a lot for gaming, these do a good job at spatial positioning in the games I play most on Xbox- Forza Motorsport 7, Forza Horizon 4 and 5, and The Division 2. Being able to hear someone creeping up to try a pass and know nearly exactly where they are as they approach it is really nice. I don’t play shooters, so I can’t speak to how good they are at super-fast paced games where I know positional sound can be all the difference. I got no complaints at all about the microphone quality, though without any pop filter, it does pick up my mouth breathing when I’m concentrating on the game. So, there’s that. I had very low hopes for music quality with these cans, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised, no exaggeration, they have surprised me with some of the sound they punch up on tracks that I am very familiar with. The A30 has a wide soundstage for closed backs, though there is very obviously an awful lot of electronic squishing and molding of the sound, I have not found them to be tiring at reasonable volumes. I would not personally use these for daily drivers for music, but they are pretty good for electronic stuff and rock, I found them sorely lacking on classical tracks. They haven’t clipped even when at high volumes, but the sound does flatten out as the volume goes up. These are not nearly as bad as a lot of other wireless cans that just give up when the volume goes too far. This is now my go-to gaming and PC headset.

As someone that has been through what must be 10 headsets at this point in my gaming history, the Astro A30s have distanced themselves from the rest by a large margin in sound quality, build quality, and overall appearance. The A30s were built keeping in mind that the user would potentially be using them not only for gaming, but also to listen to music. From a gaming perspective, they have a wide range of sound that can produce the deepest of low bass frequencies to some of the highest pitch frequencies you will run into in any gaming experience. They do a great job of producing a 360-degree sound that from my experience has been extremely accurate at depicting where a noise is relative to where you are in the game. From a listening to music perspective, they get the job done and have quality sound, but simply cannot produce the same sound as some headphones with a deliberate purpose of listening to music. They are primarily meant to be gaming headphones, so this did not come as a surprise. As far as the build quality and overall appearance, Astro Gaming and Logitech knocked it out of the park. The A30s are hands down the best-looking headphones on the market in my humble opinion. They have a high-quality feel which is welcome as gaming headphones are infamous for having cheap plastic builds that seem to break just after 6 months to a year of use. One of the complaints I have about these headphones is how they structured the controls. On the left earcup, you have a port for the detachable microphone, the port for an auxiliary cord, a microphone built into the cup itself, and the switch for muting the microphone. On the right earcup are the Bluetooth button, power button with a status light, and a four-way joystick. The four-way joystick is something not found on most if any other gaming headphones. Pushing left or right changes the chat/game balance, while pushing up or down changes the volume. Most other gaming headphones simply have a wheel that controls the audio setting; that approach seems to be more precise. Not a deal breaker, but worth noting. The only other complaint I have is related to the microphones. When the detachable microphone is being used, it has a pretty clear sound but nothing special. When the detachable microphone is not in use and the built-in microphone is being used, the clarity of my voice suffered and wasn’t very clear to anyone I was talking to. As far as comfort goes, they have a snug feel with memory foam ear cups that have a comfortable feel when wearing. There isn’t much breathability in the ear cups, but this is as expected considering they are supposed to cancel out background noise. The battery life is as good as advertised as I have been testing them for 3 days in a row without any signs of dying or lacking in performance. Overall, the Astro A30s are a great pair of gaming headphones that live up to their price tag.
