However, some customers find the headset expensive and have noted compatibility issues with certain consoles, along with concerns about weight and setup complexity. Outstanding headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using a variety of headsets over the past several years. I've used Turtle Beach, Sony, Logitech however never Astro's. Astro vs TB has always seemed to be like Coke vs Pepsi, Android vs iOS, etc. I've always been fine with TB's and they always seemed to work well. However, after using the Astro's for a bit, I can see why these are regarded as some of the best gaming headsets on the market. I've used the TB Elite Pro 2 which are the closest competitor these A40's. Both are wired and both have an amp that is used in tandem with the wired headset. As far as fit/comfort, I think both are equal in that respect. I like the TB's a little better just due to the material on the earcups. Both bands feel a bit tight however I have a large head so that's normal for me. As for appearance, I think that has to go to the A40's. They look quite nice and don't look like some normal headsets out on the market. For performance, the A40's seem to do it for me. While the TB Elite Pro 2 are quite good, the A40's seem to extend beyond the TB's just a bit in all aspects. Sound is a bit clearer/crisper on the A40 as well as range. Bass notes seem to sound a bit better on the A40 too. Mics are about equal for both headsets. Both headsets provided clear voice chat both from me and my teammates. I'm not too big a fan of the amps however. Personally, I like the simplicity of the Sony Gold wireless headset. Seems everyone is going the wired route these days however I preferred the wireless headsets. That said, the wired headsets from TB/Astro seem to be on par with each other in most respects. However, I think the A40's are it for me.

Great headset for streamers and game recording
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first time I've ever gotten to try a pair of Astro gaming headsets. I'm impressed with the build and sound quality of this headset. The included amp makes it really easy to toggle between different EQ presets, and lets you balance the volume of the game and voice. This is my favorite feature on the amp. When used with the PS4 it is so convenient being able to adjust the volume to your preference on the fly instead of having to dig through menus in the PS4. It does support DOLBY Surround sound 7.1 , which is especially great when connected to a PC. It makes for an immersive experience and you can hear bullets whizz past you, footsteps coming and going. The headset is pretty well tuned, and the low frequencies don't really overpower the highs. The microphone has good noise cancellation, and my friends said I sounded nice and clear. I could be wrong, but I believe it is a feature that this headset has, but I am able to hear myself talking pretty good. My voice seems to come through the headset along with game and chat audio. It sounds great though, it's not an echo. I like it because then I dont feel like Im shouting when talking while gaming or streaming. My only complaint with this headset is that there is alot of wires that need to be connected when used with the PS4. I understand though, using the included optical cable makes for a better sound experience. It's just that you are going to have 3 cables running to and from the amp. The optical audio from the amp to the ps4, a micro usb to power the amp, and the aux cable to connect to the headset. It's fine for desktop or bedroom settings. I wouldn't use it if gaming from the couch. When connecting this headset to the PC, you only need the USB and AUX cable, Using it on a computer allows you to download software to use for EQ settings. The magnetic removable earcups and plates are a nice feature if you're into customizing your headset. Changing the pads will be easy if they ever wear out. The headset is comfortable and did not hurt my head or ears during a long late night gaming session. I would recommend this headset to gamers who stream, or like to record their gaming to upload and share online because the included amp is a powerful tool to have for it. Pros: Great sound and microphone quality Powerful, intuitive Amp. Compatible with PS4, and PC / Mac Lots of customization options Cons: Requires alot of long cables. Connecting to the PS4 can be a little cumbersome.

Only Audio from right side from a excellent open b
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had bought the open box because the rating said “ excellent” turns out only audio coming from left ear. I guess they didn’t check to see the quality thoroughly, and only rated it by appearance.

Need to work on the delivery
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The headset is good but the delivery was not the best, for one it didn't even come in a extra box it they just stuck a label on the actual headset box which wouldn't be a big deal but the extra box is to protect the headset and lastly the actual headset box came dented thankfully the actual headset wasn't damaged

Hoped for greatness but let down
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly didn’t like the head set everyone said they could hear everything in the background and I could hear everyone too zero noise cancellation from both the mic and headset and that’s that I wanted so I got the hyper x orbit s and they are the GOAT
