Been using these headphones for about a week and a half now. Love the way these headphones sound. I've been using them with the Dolby audio and in my opinion they sound great. Perfect lows and mids, but could stand to have a bit more punch in the h highs. The only thing that I wish is that they were true 5.1 or 7.1 headphones and not simulated surround sound.

The build and sound quality of this headset are phenomenal... IF you can get the firmware updated. This headset is listed as being 'for Xbox One, Xbox series X|S, PC'. HOWEVER- If you plan to use this with your Xbox, you're going to have to hook it up to a PC to update the firmware on the Mixamp so that you're Xbox will recognize the device. This is where the issue occurs- Astro's software will fail to install the firmware update every time. Their Customer Support is essentially a couple guys in a Discord channel that will tell you to try to update it on a different computer. I tried updating on 6 separate PC's and failed on each. Just to be safe, I exchanged the headset for a new one to ensure I hadn't received a faulty unit. Not the case; Still unable to update the firmware. Still unable to use the headset I'd dropped a couple hundred dollars on. TL;DR - The headset itself it great. Astro as a company is clueless. This issue is well documented online, yet they have (as of earlier this year when I gave up on trying to update the Mixamp) done nothing to patch their software.

Greatest headset I've purchased. Great audio and mic. Comfortable and not heavy.

I purchased these headphones recently and I am very pleased with my purchase. The sound is amazing. I came from Turtle Beach headphones and will not return. They are well worth the money.

TBh my buddy gave me his a40 3rd gen as a gift now jumping into the 4 gen ill give you the real honest review everybody is way over prasing this 4th gen. 1st off the headset is nice no doubt but look closely everything is poop plastic..... like legit. for 270$... come on astro... 2nd the sound they say is v2.... i played with the stock vs the 3rd gen vs 4th the pass gen i love it super loud and sharp example in fortnite when you fire a heavy sniper you hear its super loud and a bang. on the 4th gen new a40 stock setting it sound like something is holding it back i admit it does sound maybe little more clear but its missing that bass or bang ..... i come from using jaybird beats razer etc. so i know low mid and high this 4th gen imo isnt there i would not buy these for 270$ with tax.... if you buy make sure you purchase somewhere you can return. Also for all the ppl asking how to download the command center its on windows store you gotta download and yes i tested this with the dolby sound on.

This is THE gaming headset to have if you’re going to be taking video games seriously. Whether you want to just play with friends, make videos, or stream, this headset is the workhorse you need in order to get the edge on your opponents! I recommend setting up through your laptop or computer before hooking them up to your Xbox. You can configure the settings just how you like.

Once I figured out that the amp needed a system update and it wasn’t broken I’ve been a happy customer. Sound is all around better than previous gaming headsets I’ve had in the past. Definitely would recommend

Tried using a couple different headsets for computer but none of them picked up sound very well in games like call of duty war zone. Decided to give these a try even though that were slightly cheaper. But headset I’ve ever owned. If you can get around the fact that it’s not wireless you will never go back. Quality is great, set up was easy and the quality is amazing.

Prefer wired headsets to wireless ones. These perform great and their MixAMP upgrade from the previous generation is was an overall good purchase. They are comfortable, mic quality is outstanding. Wish sound quality was better for music but that's not the strong point of this headset.

Great sounds with fiber optic on my desktop pc, the one thing i dont like is the input hole on the bottom of the ear piece, risk of the jack plugin breaking.

Good quality headset. Easy setup. Only issue I have and always have with headsets are the inline mic cords. Mine was broke right from the box. You would think that paying almost 300 dollars for a headset they would not be so cheap with the inline mic. Other than that its a great product.

Once you finally get these to connect they are amazing!!! Some say they are too heavy and I will agree but still some of the best sounds overall!

I’ve been using astros since the 360 days and when you want quality and reliability, get some astros a40s. They are the most used headset for a reason. The quality and flexibility it offers is unmatched.

I Would highly recommend this product. Very comfortable and the sound is great!

great for long gaming sessions, comfortable and audio adjustability on the fly without exiting your game is key. mic is clear and crisp, when you are done gaming this headset is also amazing for music.

Great Quality headset. Great sound. works great on my xbox and PC.

Works great could/should be priced 50$ Cheaper around 200$ but works very well both headset and MixAmp and you can add any headset to the MixAmp so if you ever have issues with the headset your still good to go

Fit and finish are fantastic and the sound quality is second to none!
