Quality matches the cost
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Astro A50 has great battery life, it's lightweight, and the mic is fantastic. I use the headset for gaming and for zoom meetings. Cons: - The mic is extremely quiet on Linux. If you plan on using this on linux, you'll need a different mic. No mic issue on PC/xbox. - It is difficult to get the thing to charge on the dock so I tend to use a microusb cable to charge. - It didn't work out of the box, after a full charge, and the provided instructions didn't bother to mention how to do a reset. If the headset doesn't work, try a hard reset "hold down the Dolby button located on the back of the right ear cup. At the same time, hold down the Game button which is also located on the right ear cup for 15 seconds".

Took me two tries but they're worth it.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used my pair of Astro A50 Gen 3's since they were released years ago. I LOVED them. after so many hours of gaming and a few incidents of raging (lol) they had seen their better days and I was due for an upgrade with the new consoles coming out. I saw these were compatible with the Series X that I game on - and I decided to go for it. My first pair synced to my mac and upon trying to update the firmware on the base station and headset I was met with errors- Tried resetting / manually installing to no avail. I was eventually able to download the update and plug it in to my xbox. I followed all the youtube guides from Astro on changing the settings and making sure it was ready and no matter what I did.. I could not get ANY sound to come through the headset. Multiple support cases with Astro later and no answer still in sight, my frustration got the better of me. I wasn't paying this much to do 20hours of troubleshooting on my headset. I decided to return them and try again with another pair. This time it synced perfectly with my mac and the update went through without a hitch, plugged in following the same steps online and the sound came through just great. must have been a faulty first headset that gave me so much grief, but now that I have a working one and its synced I love it just as much as my Gen 3's. I play for hours at a time and it never gets old or painful on my head. My ears never get uncomfortable and the battery life is exceptional. I would recommend this with the heads up that you might run into errors on the sync but when done right, its awesome.

First time ever buying a pair of Astros.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Many of my friends have been telling me for years to buy a pair of Astros, and I decided to buy the newest edition and I was not disappointed. The price was very steep for me but I made the leap and the price could be a little lower. The headset is very comfortable I do a lot of gaming for hours! It does its job, has great sound direction from the speakers. I thought they weren't loud enough for me until I found out how to adjust the sound settings on the xbox settings.

Pretty dang good
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound and quality overall. Pricey but worth it. The sound is pretty good and the earmuffs are very comfortable. Mic quality is super good. The feedback is nice and crisp. The battery life is also insanely good. They take a bit longer to charge but last pretty dang long. I bought Dolby Atmos like advertised with the headphones. Works well, though not phenomenal, worth it for a one time purchase at $14.99. Definitely recommend.

Why buy anything else?
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great headset comfortable adorable. Really I’ve had no issues with it. This is my second pair used to use the turtle beaches but for a truly wireless headset, can’t get any better for your money. There are a lot of different wires his headsets out there for the price you can’t beat it, plus Astro. Let you buy new cups if you need and padding for head.

Great gaming headset
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From the minute you take them out of the box they scream quality. Very study and well constructed. I had a pair of wireless Turtle Beaches that worked natively with the series X. These were always dripping audio and just having connection issues. The Astros on the other hand have not dropped one time. The battery life will outlast any session I have. And the quality of sounds is amazing. The people on the other end are always complementary of the way my audio comes through to them as well. I will only say that the price is a little high. But the old adage “You get what you pay for” definitely holds true. Would recommend these to anyone that has the money to spend

Great headset
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best head set I’ve had. It’s SUPER comfortable and the sound quality is superb, the charging station in looks amazing on my desk, and adds a place for it to rest and recharge, never had a problem with it dying on me. I’m able to change up settings on its app on the Xbox app to really make the final specs of settings on it. Overall, super happy about it, I’ve had it over a year now, and have had no problems :)

Great but overpriced
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They sound great decently comfortable. The range on these are insane. 40-50 yards before they disconnect. They are just overpriced.

Great brand, great sound, great comfort, great user interface. Comes with free software. Adjust how well you hear your own voice as well as unlimited EQ adjustments. Loudest wireless headset I've ever used of 167 headsets. Wireless connectivity is very strong. Adjustable microphone monitoring. Optical audio cable included. Dolby Atmos/Windows Sonic ready. Glasses friendly. Flip up microphone to mute. Independent volume control. Easy 'set and forget' charging dock. This will be your last gaming headset for a long time.

Great sound minor issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this headset for a little over a year now, and by far the sound and voice are the best over turtle beach. The only issue I have is now and again they will disconnect from the pc (while the pc still shows them connected) and I haven’t figured out the right way to get the sound back. (The star on the base goes away when it isn’t connecting) and the headset has to be fiddled with to get the charge connection properly set. But those are minor and don’t bother me much. I love this headset!

Upgrade was worth it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had gen 1 A50's for about 6-7 years before finally getting the upgrade and it has been worth it. My favorite thing is having the the headset shut off shortly after setting them down and then automatically turning back on when you pick them up. Battery life is much better, mic quality is very clear, and audio still get pretty loud. Plus, you can remove/replace the ear pads (thanks to magnets) if ya need. Appreciate that new feature. Range is also upgraded with these, which allow me to go anywhere in the house almost and still tune in to whatever I'm listening to. Wish there was more colors to choose from and miss the old style. But that's just me being a baby.

Best Wireless Headset I've owned
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset is a bit pricey but honestly I feel it is very worth the price. I can easily game for hours and feel completely comfortable the whole time. The battery lasts a long time. I don't think I have ever run out of battery using this headset. The sound is fantastic. So many audio options on the app on the computer. I love that you can't take off the earvuos and buy different ones from astro to put on. Overally this headset to me is unmatched. Pick this baby up!

Great headphones, but I'm returning them...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I was pretty pumped about these. They would be my first set of Astros I owned. I had used a buddies pair of A40's a fair amount and (despite the cost) was looking forward to these being wireless and worth it. Well, the sound is great, they're really comfortable albeit on the heavier side which is what I expected and doesn't bother me as much as some. In the end, however, it just didn't justify $300 for me. That may be different to someone else and that's fine. I found the mix amp to be pretty annoying and maybe it's something I'm doing but it seems to go all the way to one end or the other when trying to adjust. I also mainly bought these for the clean, minimal look of the charging dock. It's smaller than expected and not as easy as just setting them and they magnetize. If you're not careful they won't charge. Then when grabbing them to put on the base station will most of the time come up with it. Little things but, again, they add up to be annoying when you're spending this amount. I'm opting to cut the price in half and go with the Turtle Beach Stealth 700's. The 700's also offer bluetooth which I'm a big fan of and was disappointed these didn't have it for the price point. Look, if you're okay spending this kind of money, give the A50's a shot. They sound great and have that classic Astro comfort. I just didn't get feel comfortable on what I spent after trying them for a bit.

A FANTASTIC Headset
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset is amazing. I’ll start with the comfort, it’s top notch. It’s had a very soft yet still firm cloth ear cups and headband. You can wear this headset for a LONG time before getting ear fatigue. I have a huge head I wear a size 8 hat and this headset fits amazing. The sound quality as well is just UNREAL. It’s so clear you Can hear people in FPS games behind you as if they are actually in the room with you. The setup is SO simple, the longest part of the set up is getting it out of the box. Last the battery life I got 17 hours out of it before having to charge it up. This headset it super high end and if you’re a serious gamer it will be worth it for sure

Gtreat headset
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are extremely comfortable and the sound is perfect. the cloth ear cups are soft and don't make ur head sweat, also they are easy to clean as the cups just pop off and on. my only complaint is that when playing on xbox, everytime I turn on my xbox I have to unplug and replug them in as to reset them. at this cost that sort of thing should be worked out. otherwise, perfect. no issues on pc.

Decent headset for gamers
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall the best headset I've ever used. My only complaint is with the charging stand. It can be pretty inconsistent with syncing to charge and even when it does the light indication is almost never accurate. But sounds quality, voice chatting, even balancing game chat and voice at the tap of a button all are pros to this headset.

Some kinks
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had these for a year now and had a couple of kinks with it. Sometimes it doesn’t completely connect to my PC or Xbox. Others have said that my mic sometimes sounds choppy when talking. The audio quality is amazing! The comfort is great for me.

A bit over-hyped
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The headset it good, but in my opinion, the performance doesn't match the price. The foam earcups get a bit warm after only a short while, and they feel a bit heavy on my head. The performance is good, but doesn't stand out enough to warrant almost $300. If you're looking for a PS4 headset, go with the Plantronics 800HS. I just went through the whole process of getting a new headset. Bought the Razer Nari Ultimate, Turtle Beach 700, Astro A50 and returned them all. Then, I bought the 800HS, and man these things are awesome. They are super-lightweight and comfortable, very durable, have an absolute superb battery, can be adjusted to fit big heads like mine, and the sound is incredible. The surround sound is top notch, and vertical audio really stands out on this headset. Also, you can adjust chat and game volume separately, which is one of the caveats I was looking for. I know some of the other headsets I mentioned have this option as well, but the Plantronics 800HS has them beat hands down. I'll say it again... GO WITH THE PLANTRONICS 800HS.
