It's worthy!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just like Cap in End Game (SPOILERS?), the updated A50 headset is worth of the cost. My puppy recently decided to try out my old A40 TR headset and forced my hand (corgis aren't as innocent as they seem!). So begrudingly I spent the $300 after reading plenty of reviews on the revised A50 headset and I can honestly say I'm glad I did. For one, upgrading to a wireless headset is so convenient. Example: last night I had Spiderverse playing on my second monitor while I worked on the other and I was able to walk into the kitchen for a drink without having to pause the movie. On top of that, having a headset mount without cables is such a space saver which leads to a cleaner, sleeker desktop space. As for gaming, the sound is crystal clear, the mic works exactly as advertised and it fits comfortably for long periods of time. If this isn't in your budget, no shame there. However, if you can afford this headset, you won't regret it.

Excellent gaming headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is a lot to like about this headset and very little to not like about this headset. First thing I noticed was how comfortable they were. These are easily the most comfortable pair of headphones I've ever worn. By default these also have sidetone turned on (your voice from the mic is played back through the headset), which really helps with the question "can everyone hear me ok?". Initial setup of the headset wasn't an issue, just had to make sure the base station was plugged into a powered USB port. The instructions want you to set the PS4 audio settings in a specific way, but they seemed to work even without the settings set (but you might not get dolby surround). To change the settings for the headset you will have to plug it into a computer and download the Astro Command Center. But it loads the equalizer, sidetone, and other settings directly onto the headset/base station, so you get some of the advanced control usually found just on PC-only headsets available on your PS4 headset. I personally didn't care for the Dolby effects this headset produced, but that may vary with the specific game you're playing. It is nice however having different EQ settings to toggle between, so I can change it up depending on the game. The voice/game audio EQ didn't seem to make a huge difference for me, but I didn't do a lot of voice chatting during my testing. Mic quality was fine, though I found it was a bit sensitive to wind sounds, so heavy breathing, or a fan might get picked up by the mic. Volume control on the headset has a nice click to the wheel, which helps with precise volume adjustment. I kind of wish it was on the left hand side, but maybe that's personal preference. The buttons for selecting the EQ setting or toggling Dolby are exactly the same, and I don't remember if the Dolby or EQ button is on the bottom. So, would've been nice if there was some sort of differentiation between the buttons. But, the base station does show what you have selected (including battery life), so even those issues are very minimal. And the big question: does this work on Xbox and Switch? Answer: Yes! On the Xbox it worked in either PS4 or PC mode, and on Switch it worked in PC mode. Nothing special was needed. I didn't test the Mic on Xbox though since that's not my primary console, and the mic has no use on the Switch.

This will make you better gamer!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My buddies always teased me that I would look the wrong way or not hear enemies approach. After I got my Astros, it never happened again. Now, I tell them stuff they don’t even hear. I can hear scared crows in Hunt Showdown from several compounds away. I can track enemies direction from their footsteps. Same thing with game play in Vigor or COD. These things make my old Turtle Beaches seem like they are from the 80’s. There is no comparison. And I haven’t even discussed the audio from a mood or environment perspective. What you hear when wearing these will blow you away! And make sure to get the Charging Dock. No wires! Ever. Properly arrange them on the dock and they charge through contacts. I can game for several hours a day, several days in a row before I need to recharge them. I feel they are definitely worth their price and then some.

Can't Beat the Comfort
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I researched headsets and chose this one for the comfort. And it is very comfortable. I wear them for hours with minimal fatigue. Note that the rechargeable battery is not replaceable, and it will eventually wear out. This is a big minus, but for me the comfort makes it worth it. Sound quality and functionality are great for my needs (primarily voice chat, but music sounds decent enough). The recharging station is nice and convenient.

Amazing sound and comfort.
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the best sounding gaming headsets. The price is quite high but so is the quality of what you get. The sound and comfort are top level. I use it for extended gaming sessions with no issues. Good battery life. Tons of customization options. Firmware updates allow for use with Xbox Series X/S.

Astro A50
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Astro A50 are extremely comfortable and have great sound quality. I like that the sound can be adjusted from the mix amp or the headphones and the sound never cuts out. The only issue with them is, every once in a while uou have to unplug them and plug them back in to get them to connect.

Good Quality Headset
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly I bought these because so many people that stream online say they're great and very comfortable. To get them to work properly on your PC you need to download the Astro Command Center and make sure that you keep everything up to date. If you don't place them on the charger just right they won't charge, or if you don't keep the program up to date they won't charge. They are comfortable and they do work great once you get them set up properly. As for the PS4 side of things, you need to change some settings in the PS4 before they will work for you, but nothing a quick google search won't help with.

Astro 50 honest review
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honest review here. The Astros are amazing when working. However, not just myself but numerous people on YouTube have had the same issue with them disconnecting from my system and having to troubleshoot to get them to connect again. For the what the headset is worth as far as price versus these issues occurring every time, I would say it is not worth the purchase. A headset this expensive should not have to be this tedious. Also, in case a tech is reading this, I have my headset updated on my pc and have done all the troubleshooting possible. Still having the same issue.

Astro Headphones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this headset for almost a year. Use daily with my pc and it’s by far one of the best headphones I’ve purchased and owned. Recommend if you play games like Call of Duty as it can let you hear a lot more. They are comfortable and I love the base where you can set down and charge your headphones.

Great setup!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been an Astro A 50 user since the Gen 1 came out. I have used the Gen 1 A50s for everything on the Xbox platform, from games to movies and music. The Gen 1 mic has always been solid and audio is really good. When I saw that they came out with the Gen 4 A50s, I fell in love since they are not the annoying Lime Green color and more generalized in colors. The additional features with the smaller base and wireless chat (NO MORE CHAT CABLE), I was hooked to pick one up. Picked it up and unboxed the A50s and loved the lightweight and sturdy headset. I tested with a bunch of friends over Xbox Live and they said the mic sounds better and crisper. The Audio is really good, but still, get the digital tinniness sound for the highs in games like Rainbow Six and Overwatch. Nothing horrible, just my ears are sensitive to awkward sounds. I tested with movies, music, and games and they all sound great. ALSO, included for the Xbox users is 2 years of Dolby Atmos for great sound quality! I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a fully wireless experience. I look at it as a "Buy Once, Cry Once" for the cost of these, but I figure if my Gen 1 A50s lasted this long, I would expect these Gen 4 A50s to last just as long.

excelent sound and range
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most wireless headsets either feel like they are crushing my head or are too loose to stay on while doing simple movements, the ear pieces are large and comfortable, they fit well and I can go through most of my house from the office and not lose reception, and with average usage i only need to charge them every 4-5 days.

Great audio quality, OK mic, terrible experience
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review comes from a current employee at Best Buy. Let's start with the good. This headset sounds great. Great audio quality all around. Used it for listening to music and general gaming and it's awesome. For games, you get some pretty nice directional sound thanks to Dolby. This headset is also pretty comfortable. The fabric feels pretty nice, and the ear cups sit comfortably for long sessions. The microphone is adequate. It's nothing to write home about, but still better than the mics you find in $50 headsets. Now for the bad, and this ruined my overall experience. The constant connection issues I've had while using this on PC (which it does have a PC mode with a functioning Astro Command Center) have been very frustrating. The amount of times I would turn on my PC and put my headset on only for them to simply not work. I would need to sift through my settings and disable and re-enable them in order to work properly. This happens at least once every 2 weeks. Now recently, I've also had issues with them charging. They no longer charge via any method (base station or usb). I have found at least 7 different troubleshooting methods, and none have solved my problems. Even the hard reset method did not work. For a headset I've had for only a year, this already does not bode well for durability. Considering these issues are widespread acrossed the community of owners, I cannot recommend this product for any sale they put it on, unless it goes below $150, which won't happen.

Some features great, some make you shake your head
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Now that I've returned this headset after several months of use I will tell you the sound and controls are terrific. Now for the bad. The docking station is tough the get the headset down on the contact pins correctly. The bigest problem is that the headset small tiny screws that construct the headset comes out and these are very small allen screws that is very tiny. When the first came out, the srew was still in the hole. Tightened that one and all the ohters too. most were tight but there were a couple that could be tightened. Now fast forward to ove a week ago when I was having the toughest time with the connection. The end was when another screw came out and I was having a hard time finding that damned screw. Exchanged the headeset for a Sony H9 InZone headset. I will review that headset soon. If there was a foolproof slot for docking and the srews stayed in I would have had no problem with this headset. Maybe your luck will be different.

Disappointed
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good sound quality and is quite comfortable however it had a defect which after some research seems to be quite common. After a few days of use the left ear makes a horrible ringing noise from the moment it’s turned on to when it’s turned off. The base station though convenient is also a little gimmicky compared to the old audio interface they provided in the past. In the end I probably wouldn’t have returned them if they didn’t make that awful ringing noise.
