Customers are saying

Customers highly value the 27" screen size, high refresh rate, and G-Sync capabilities of this monitor, frequently citing smooth gameplay and excellent performance. While some users noted backlight bleed or IPS glow, these issues were not universally reported and many found them minimal or unnoticeable. The high resolution was also praised, although the price point was mentioned as a potential drawback by some. Overall, the positive feedback on performance and features outweighs the concerns about minor display imperfections.

No dead pixels, No backlight bleed, But.....

I guess I was one of the lucky ones and got a perfect IPS panel but I'm afraid I have to return it. I've been playing on an Asus VG248QE 144Hz 1ms monitor for the last 2 years at least. My problem with this PG279Q is motion blur and in 2-3 BF1 maps I get some jitter. My system specs are up to snuff and I get 90-110 FPS across all BF1 maps. This monitors 4ms response time just doesn't cut it for me. I can't justify spending $800 just to go from a 24 inch to a 27 inch monitor and have my gaming experience ruined. I've read the reviews that said there is next to no difference between 1ms and 4ms response times. Well, I sure can see it. I really wanted to like this monitor but the motion blur killed it for me.

The best monitor I've ever owned.

I bought this and an EVGA GTX 1080SC card to update my homebrew desktop computer. I replaced an 11 year-old Viewsonic monitor that did very well, Until I saw THIS one. 144hz (OC to 165), 27" vs the 22" I had previously. DP, HDMI, USB port (2), G-Sync. I'm running this on a 6 year old mobo (P8Z77-V Deluxe). Great monitor that I will never use all the features on. Some gaming, some photo editing, some video viewing. Love it!

Good but still having color issues like TN panel

I had the HP Omen but it had a TN panel which is only capable of 6bit color causing some really bad color blending especially in dark areas. I returned that one and got this one because it is an IPS display that is capable of the full 8bit. for some reason I'm getting the same artifacts as I was with the HP. I really thought this display would give me better image quality

    No Bleeding

I went and bought online and then picked it up at the store. I changed the background color to all black and didn't see any bleeding. No clouding and some minor IPS glow but all monitors have IPS glow. GTX 970 on Witcher 3 at 40-59 fps with gsync on and I didn't see any tearing or noticable lag. Monitor Callibration: Brightness 42 | Contrast 47 | Saturation 50 | Red 100 |Green 95 | Blue 95 | Cool Color 0 | Deeps sleep off CON: Only thing I found bad with the monitor is there is no button to switch between Display Port and HDMI. The option is deep in the menu. Also, uncheck the deep sleep for both HDMI and DP as the computer might not display when turning on the PC.

    Does not operate as advertised

Be aware if you run this monitor in a multi-monitor setup in Windows 10 with a 60Hz secondary monitor you will be forced to run the PG279Q at 120Hz or you will see noticeable fps dips and skipping in videos. It's not something Asus, Microsoft, or Nvidia want to openly advertise. The only way to run this hardware at spec with a 60hz monitor is to run Windows 7 with Aero disabled. Links below detail the issue along with an official response from Nvidia on how to resolve it (set your monitors to 120hz/60hz): https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/949367/144hz-60hz-stuttering-can-we-soon-get-a-fix-for-this-/

    Beautiful but flawed

I've owned Asus products for a long time so this monitor was a no brainer. Just like reviews on other sites, however, it came in and was flawed. The new $740 monitor had a cluster of dead pixels in the center of the otherwise beautiful display. Asus has terrible quality control and I should have listened.

I've had this monitor since Sept 2017. It's lasted me such a long time and now will be my 2nd monitor.

    Extremely Poor Quality Control

I read many other reviews stating the quality control was terrible for this starting in early 2016. I wasn't aware that they were still having as many issues until I dug some more after I experienced some of the issues others were having. The monitor arrived with a few dead pixels right out of the box. The back light will flicker off and on like there's a loose connection. Please do your research before you decide to take a gamble.
