The quality of the packaging can tell you a lot about the manufacturer's mindset and approach. This monitor's packaging was very well thought out. The quality of the images displayed is outstanding. Very sharp and bright, just speaks quality. Pleasure to your eyes. I wish there would be a height adjustment. Also the monitor controls at the right bottom of the screen react to touch and can be confusing at first. Overall the design, presentation and the image quality are the key winning attributes that matter the most at the end and the Asus monitor does deliver a very pleasant visual experience. A very satisfying purchase.

Picture quality is excellent. Sound quality is good and let me get rid of the speakers on my desk (I don't watch many movies). I was concerned about a silver frame but it's really dark gray and not an issue. My computer only has DVI outputs but a too short DVI to HDMI cable is included.I had to go to my favorite online cable seller to get a longer cable. The monitor dropped $30 a week after I bought it!

I got this monitor for my mac mini the screen size is excellent not a 4k but a great quality monitor this monitor does a great job for games and photo editing the quality of the monitor resembles apples imac regular monitors but at the fraction of the cost just add your own thunderbolt to hdmi cable and your set. Thunder to hdmi cable only online sales it. no adapter only use cable

This is a really good monitor for the money you put into it. It looks great showing all my games. Not a UHD monitor but it's pointless to throw money away on them anyway. This is a great choice for whatever you enjoy doing on a pc or console. A lot more sturdy than it looks which was suprising.

Nothing much to say really. This monitor looks great, screams premium, vivid colors, all the ports you need, I don't know guys....just buy it if you want a sexy monitor for a good price. If I bought two of the dang things they're pretty worth ;3

I purchased this monitor solely for PC gaming. I have been playing several different games at max/ultra graphics settings and the quality of the picture is phenomenal. I have put about 10 hours in on this monitor and no issues yet.

wow i love this monitor:) coking from a 17.3 inch im just as shocked on how big and great the colors are on this monitor. wish it could be a little brighter but the details on this is amazing. i deff recommend this

I was looking for a larger monitor for home use - can't quite see the details I'd like on my laptop screen. It's crisp and clear, and works perfectly right out of the box. The B&O speakers are a really nice addition.

I purchased this monitor to uses as a second screen for my PC and as as monitor for my game consoles (PS4, Xbox One, WiiU) and love it. The monitor looks beautiful, and the built in speakers are OK, but I mainly listen with a pair of Sennheisers. I use an HDMI switcher with my game consoles hooked up to this monitor and all three next gen systems work perfectly with this screen. My only complaints are minor in that the connections are limited to two HDMI and a VGA port. A DVI port would have been nice. While the built in speakers are an added feature it would have been great if a remote was included to make adjusting volume/input easier. If you are looking for an affordable large size IPS screen I would highly recommend this monitor.

I've owned this monitor for a year now and have played the following games: The Witcher 2 Batman Arkham Knight Guild Wars 2 Tomb Raider Evil Within I bought this item upgrading from a LED 1MS VX248H monitor. I LOVE THIS MONITOR. First, the 5ms response time produced no noticeable ghosting compared to my 1ms Asus. The input lag is actually slightly lower as well. The colors and sharpness on this monitor is amazing! The reason is that if you go to the ASUS product page, this monitor's specs reveal that it is a Advanced High Performance IPS (AH-IPS). That means Improved colour accuracy, increased resolution and PPI, and greater light transmission for lower power consumption. When compared to other IPS monitors, this one has superior image quality. I temporarily upgraded to a "fellow" ips monitor the Acer XB270HU (1440p with Gsync). After plunging it up, I immediately unplugged it and went right back to this, because it didn't compare to the overall image quality. Reason being, it was just a regular IPS rather than AH-IPS. I plan to upgrade to the 1440p version of this model of ASUS monitor that way I will still get the AH-IPS features. But look nowhere else, if you want a good gaming monitor, but tired of wash out light color of LEDs. Originally, I didn't think it made a difference if it was IPS or AH-IPS, but boy...was I wrong.

I purchased this monitor July 2015, so I've had a bit of time with it. I don't use it for any sort of gaming, strictly web and office suite work. Being 27", this monitor is the perfect alternative to running a dual-display setup. "Snapping" your windows to each side of the screen still yields adequate work space without the need to constantly close and open different windows. Side Bonus: The integrated speakers are surprisingly decent. I didn't realize this even had speakers until I brought it home. I didn't hook the audio up at first, but decided to try it a few months later. They sound pretty good for being integrated. Allows for a very simple and clean work space!

This screen is perfect for our gaming computer. I like have Windows 10 on it so my husband and I can switch around on our accounts so I don't have to use my laptop all the time.

I purchased to replace my smaller 20" monitor at work ... excellent choice. The color clarity is excellent and the screen size allows me to easily work on two documents at once.

Previously tried an Asus 28" monitor but it had color issues. Switched to this one, and it's far and away the better monitor. Screen is bright and clear (using Microsoft ClearFont); doesn't make my eyes tired after using it for long periods. Overall style is clean and modern; "bezel-less" screen looks great, however it doesn't go completely to the edge so be warned. Built-in speakers work fine for viewing on-line content - think of it like the speakers on your TV - but shouldn't be mistaken for top-shelf audio. Overall, this monitor is a terrific value for the price (especially when Best Buy puts it on sale all the time).

I bought this monitor 5 days ago. First impression after unpacking it was "wow". It looks great for below $300. Circular stand is nicely done, material that Asus used to build the monitor are not bad. It has 2 HDMI's , 1 VGA, and audio ports, which is not that bad for non professional user. Colors are fine, backlit quality not bad. Just because it is 27" does not mean you will enjoy the view. The problem is resolution. 1920x1080 on 27" monitor (this one) produce color distortion around fonts especially and while watching movies. Resolution for 27" should be at least 2560x1440, but again these monitors are around $500-600. I will go with 23 or 24" monitor with 1920x1080 resolution. 27" on that resolution is only marketing trick. 60Hz is standard refresh rate for almost every monitor, so don't let that discourage you. 5ms response is standard as well for IPS monitors which is not too important at all. Some monitors on 8ms works better than those on 5ms. Overall, it is very good monitor. Even if you buy it, you wont make a mistake. PROS: - Nice design - Adjustable stand (horizontally only) - Nice backlit (brightness/contrast) - Great for web surfing, text processing, reading - Good for gaming CONS: - Distorted colors around fonts (1920x1080 on 27") not a good way to go - Not great for watching movies - Not great for Graphic design - Too expensive for overall specs

The image quality is VERY good. It looks great on my desk since there is a very slim frame. Absolutely happy with this purchase.

I purchased this monitor about 3 months ago to hook up to my computers and game systems and so far has not failed me. The picture on the monitor looks really crisp and bright, which is really easy to notice when the laptop is set up next to it. The sound quality really surprised me for built in speakers on a computer monitor whether playing games on a computer or using a game system. The only minor issues I have found are first, that it appears you can't access the menu when no devices are connected to it and second, the buttons are a little difficult to deal with as they give little feedback, but not a big deal since they rarely get used.

This monitor is just what i need for another pc in the house. Has great viewing angle, AH-IPS panel and really nice speakers. The sound is surprising loud and clear, one of the best sound i ever heard from a monitor built-in speakers. Picture look great out of the box. It's a little saturated and bright but it's can be turned down. I keep the standard mode since it looks the best for me but it's up to your preference. Didn't care for the VGA port in the back. Who would use VGA nowaday when you have HDMI or better? Wish the monitor have the Display port along with the DVI port.

Bought this with new Asus tower for home use. Replacing an old Gateway 24" HD screen. Honestly, the image was nicer on the Gateway (even after 8 years - it's still pristine with no dead pixels etc.), likely due to a higher pixel count, in a smaller frame. The only issue with the older screen was rather bad back light bleed around the edges - which it had from day 1. The Asus screen is notably better in that regard. As other reviews have pointed out however, this screen is not a great choice for true color representation or for anyone interested in photo/video processing work. Apparently some users have reported an ICC profile that helped a bit that was once downloadable from the Asus site...but it appears to be no more as of late 2014. Pity. Aesthetically, it is a nice looking bit of work. The minimalist bezel looks good, but remember that the actual screen image does NOT extend to the edges - leaving about a half an inch of black around the image at all times. There is more visible artifacting, like a poorly compressed jpg image, with the sharpness of this monitor turned up to anything more than 20-30%.
