I did not give it five stars because the enclosed software, powertoeight, did not work well. So, I uninstalled it and downloaded some free burning software that did work well.

The only thing I didnt like about it was that you have to use two usb plugs and one of the usb is too short to fit. My laptop has usb on each side. Luckly I had a adapter and it all worked out.

It's an external CD\DVD writer that's bus-powered so you don't need a separate AC adapter or Y-cable to use it. Other than that it's pretty run of the mill. Includes some basic software to get you started creating disks but your OS's built-in disk burning utilities are probably better. For the price it's a good choice.

Once or twice a disc wasn't recognized and i had to pop it open and re-close it, but we've been using it heavily and that hasn't happened much. Good device, much better than LG.

Hands down, best investment! Includes complimentary software to use, and it reads/writes flawlessly!

The only complaint I would have is the usb cord is very short , fortunately I have a box "O" cords and found a longer cord.
