    No Older DVDs?

    Maybe it is me, but I cannot get this device to play older DVD's. And as other ppl have said the cord is WAY too short.

    I wish i could this item a corner of a star, i was reading the review on this item being compatible, to work for window 10, this is not true, it does not work with window 10. Neither does lg external drive this is not a true statement, I wish it did work. Researcher

    I got this item because I need to read DVD-RAM. This is one of very few items available that claim to read that format. However, when I put in the disks, the drive won't recognize the disk and reports "No disk inserted." Disk is not corrupt, can read it with a very old player, but looking to import into computer.

    The drive does what I need it to do. Its seems cheaply made and its pretty noisy but it works just fine.

    Asus sold me a fussy, fragile piece of crap that lasted just long enough for Best Buy to say it's "No Longer Returnable." Good to know

    sorry , this disc reader ended up freezing my new computer and it has never turned back on after i tried to install photoshop elements using the disc reader, writer

    Not a quick DVD player set up

    Item returned. Computer exceeded all minimum requirements but would not play DVD as told it would. Either the salesperson did not know what they were selling or product did not meet needs. Talked with two Best Buy experts before purchase.

    I got this for my pc. It did not work no matter what I did. It is definitely not plug and play. I don't recommend it at all. I returned it.

    Nothing wrong with the product but this BB store had a skeleton crew working as it took awhile to get help finding the product location.

    Complete garbage. Any music discs burned skip and freeze. When you plug it in, no default program starts so...you have to fish around for any program to do what you want. Do not buy.

      To resolve this, please verify if the computer fully-support the optical drive. And if it does, please ensure the OS and chipset driver are up to date.

      A recording or burning software or application is not provided, either from ASUS or other manufacturer, this needs to be installed separately.

      It's unfortunate to hear that the optical drive is unable to eject. Please attempt these steps:

      Look for a tiny little hole on the front of the DVD/cd drive, usually, this is near the eject button. Push that hole with a paper clip or pin, and it should open the DVD/cd drive again.
