    Surprising little laptop

Nice little gaming laptop. The downside is with it's small size there's no room for upgrades. Chip-on-board ram is the problem. Other than that setup is quick and easy and performance is pretty good. The screen is tiny and very had to read with. I'd recommend using the HDMI port to a larger screen.

A good v1 attempt; short of being a good purchase

Powerful laptop; great attempt for a v1 product. Good keyboard, nice display, and good processing power. The ok/bad: 1. The touchpad is so so; a little on the small side and felt cheap 2. The 3050TI on paper seem great but with a max 4GB of memory it can't even load some games at the native resolution. So while it's must faster than say Iris XE it's not necessarily better. 3. It's hot - the fan is reasonably quiet but the way the venting is setup it vents towards the display (which seems like a bad idea long term). 3. The proprietary expansion slot is an open question; who know how well it will be supported down the road and given the external CPU is the same price as the laptop itself it seems a questionable setup. But it does offer another USB C port. But take a look at videos about the port coming loose online.

7 Surface Pens do not work in vertical orientation

At $1349.99, this laptop is amazing on paper. It has excellent performance that no other ultraportable 2-in-1 even comes close to. However, there is one significant issue that makes the laptop not worth it. When using the device in tablet mode in vertical orientation with your palm touching the screen, it is almost impossible to write notes. If I use ruled paper in vertical orientation with OneNote and touch one line of the page using my finger or palm, the pen does not work on that line. The pen does work on lines above and below the line I am touching. To handwrite notes in vertical orientation, I have to angle my wrist in a weird way such that the pen is completely above or below the lines that my palm is touching. This happens even if the touch screen is turned off in device manager, so it does not seem like a palm rejection issue. This also happens if I use the rotation lock feature to lock the screen in horizontal orientation, but hold the device vertically. It seems like touching the screen disables an entire line of the pen digitizer. Although I initially noticed this issue in OneNote, I also tested Microsoft Whiteboard, Snip and Sketch, and Microsoft Edge's PDF annotation tools. All of them have the same issue writing in vertical orientation. I initially thought that this was due to a faulty pen digitizer on the unit I received and ordered a replacement unit. However, the replacement unit has the exact same issue. To rule out the possibility of my pen being faulty, I went to a local Best Buy store and tested out the laptop with the Surface Pens they had on display (they did not have any Asus pens, but many reviews say Surface Pens work well, so I tested the laptop with them). In total, I tried 2 Platinum Surface Pens, 1 Ice Blue Surface Pen, 1 Poppy Red Surface Pen, 2 Charcoal Surface Pens, and 1 Black Surface Slim Pen. I doubt that 7 Surface Pens in a row would be defective, so it seems like both the original and replacement laptop had faulty pen digitizers. Given that two laptops in a row had the exact same issue, I will be returning both of them. Most 2 in 1 laptops today do not have any problems accepting pen input in any orientation even if your palm is touching the screen, but this laptop is unable to do that properly, making it unusable for notetaking.

I love the look of this laptop no awful gamer aesthetic and the branding is subtle and I LOVE the the diagonal line design its so clean and simple with out being plain and boring the GPU isnt the most powerful thing in the world but I was able play VR on it with no problem I've recently gotten back into reading comics and flipping this thing into vertical tablet mode makes reading comics online very nice way better than just on my desktop now for some minor complaints and issues the back middle rubber foot came out in like about a month and was lost to the abyss but i cant really say I've even noticed it being gone I'm not even sure why they put it there in the first place doesn't seem to need it at all I wish it had another USB type A port on the left side next to the HDMI port my VR headset uses both an HDMI and USB type A port so it would be nice if I didnt need to use an adopter plug it in an SD card reader even just a micro SD card reader would have been nice but not really that big of a deal ideally I would have preferred they traded some CPU power for the GPU going with say the 5800U and maybe even a down turned 3060 would have been nice the XGmobile units are way to expensive my hope that since we have gotten the Z13 now continued support will bring down the cost of future models and that they remain compatible with this device overall I'd say yeah this is a great device its exactly what I was looking for

I decided to get this laptop because of the fact that it is a great deal. I am a college student, and I see many of my peers buying MacBook's with average stats and high prices. I'm not really a "gamer" and I use this laptop as an everyday laptop. It does its job really well and for the price its metrics are really great.

    Amazing Laptop

This is the best laptop I have ever had. I needed a new laptop for personal and school use, and this checked off every item in my list. It is lightweight and crazy fast. I can play games so perfectly and do all my work.I am not a hardcore gamer, but I play games like GTA and CoD and they play so good for me. It doesn't have many ports, so I had to buy an adapter with more USB/USB-C, Ethernet, and micro-SD slot, but I didn't mind that since the laptop is so thin and compact. Touchscreen and fingerprint sensor are both great features in such a small laptop. I've had it for a couple of months now and it was definitely worth it. Black color is sexy also, but it gets a lot of fingerprint marks, that's the only downside I see right now. More than satisfied with this amazing machine. Specs are great also, it was hard to find all this (16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Ryzen 9 CPU, 3050 Ti GPU, Touchscreen, and Backlit keyboard) in a good looking <14" laptop under $1,500. I also bought on sale for $1,349.99. I looked and looked and this was the best laptop I could find.

The ASUS - ROG is thin, light and powerful which suits my needs for portability and gaming on the go. It is very easy to setup with Cortana guiding me along the way. I easily installed the Office Home and Student which I purchased additionally. Also, I have no issue installing the Webroot Trial version, included with my purchase. So far, I played Fallout 76 at the default settings with no issue.

the weight while holding it feels like holding my kids chrome book from school but don't let that fool you. This is a very capable capable 2in1 laptop. I'm currently playing some games like tomb raider and witcher 3 on med to high with no problems. My son likes to play his roblox in tablet mode with the touch screen. I haven't had any problems and its been fun using it so far.

The laptop is good, Got what I ordered. It suits my lifestyle. Portable flexible, The only con is there is no stylus pen out of the box. I have seen some reviews on youtube stylus pen is included in the box. Before you order make sure from the buyer if the stylus pen is included o not, Otherwise you have to spend extra bucks for MPP 2.0 supported pen.

Excellent Laptop and form factor. Great Performance (Great regular use no hiccups, and respectable in gaming for such a small device). Trackpad is nice if a bit small. Keyboard is great, however no dedicated pg up/pg down buttons. Screen ratio (16:10) is great, resolution is fine, the hinge angles the screen perfectly. 120hz is great and smooth. could ask for a bit more brightness (approx. 300 nits). Ryzen CPU is amazing. RTX 3050 Ti is surprisingly good, and gaming performance is great for the size. Webcam is fine. Build quality is good and solid, outside build is magnesium, keyboard deck is plastic feeling. Overall feels good, but fingerprint magnet, have a microfiber cloth with you. Port selection is good, although no Thunderbolt due it being a Ryzen laptop, also could use a micro SD card slot. Potential for future proofing with the XG connection, and the Ryzen 9 CPU. Good Ram and Storage. Overall amazing device and engineering, relatively great price compared to other Ultrabooks with with much worse CPUs and GPUs.
