Works great
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far it’s fantastic. It does everything I need and then some. I haven’t tried any games yet and not sure that I will just because my desktop is much better but this is working great for tuning my car and handling day to day activities for work.

Massive Disappointment
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Never had worse buyer's remorse. The specs looked good but it overheats with ease, shutting off automatically during updates, and my attempts to use it as a laptop (with a lap desk) led to screen flickering and hot to the touch keyboard. Unfortunately for me I was stubborn and never returned it when I should've so I'm stuck with it but my mistake doesn't have to be yours. Try something else.

Posted .Dear JonS,
We do understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused about the thermal and auto shutdown issues.
The overheating is normal for the laptop, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially while gaming, or during WINDOWS Update and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please check if resource hungry applications, processes or services are running in the background since this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down. Usually, the screen will temporary blackout while updates are being applied in the System Registry. After updates were successfully applied, the auto blackscreen will go away.
To resolve the flickering screen issue, please check if the chipset and video drivers are up to date and WINDOWS update are installed. Also, please try to connect the laptop to another known good power source or AC outlet and away from electronic or electrical devices that maybe generating excessive electrical or RF noise. Uncleaned power source or faulty electrical or electronic device that is generating excessive electrical noise can disturb static-sensitive devices or components in the laptop that may cause the screen to flicker.

I loved it but had to let it go
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to like and keep this laptop. I wanted an ultra portable (around 3 lb) laptop that can handle my daily office programs and occasional light gaming. 15.6-inch laptops are too bulky and heavy, so my only choice was a 14-inch laptop. Laptops with 14 inch display, solid CPU, and a dedicated GPU? My only choices were this ASUS ROG Flow X13 or ACER Swift X. In my opinion Flow X13 beats Swift X in just about every comparison except for the higher price tag and battery life. I had no problem paying a bit more for a more premium laptop, albeit similar performance. That being said, the reason why I decided to choose Acer Swift X over Flow X13. I use my laptop mostly for work and I'm always on the go. For my use case, a USB hub (dock) with power delivery is a must. Simple one-cable connection and the ability to use a third-party USB PD charger on-the-go is very important to me. The Flow X13 does NOT like thrid-party chargers. The "turbo" mode on Armoury Crate is only available when the original charger is connected directly to the charging port. OK... fine, but on "performance mode" the laptop has severe stutters when playing games even when FPS is well over 120. This can only be remedied by powering this laptop with the originally included charger. I really wish I could have kept this laptop if it wasn't for the issue mentioned above. Ultimately, I ordered Swift X which doesn't have the same problem as this laptop.

Posted .Dear Scottyus,
It's great to know that you love the laptop.
We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing stuttering.
If the thrid-party charger is causing the stutter, please verify if it meets the system requirements of the laptop. If it does, verify it is working properly, uncleaned power generated by the charger will cause stutter issue. Also, verify internet service is stable if you are gaming online. since this will definitely cause system stability or performance issue.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic gaming laptop. I initially bought this for school but have since started using it for gaming as well and it really holds it. For the price point it’s very powerful. Highly recommend for gamers on a budget.

Ideal small laptop for travelers
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this specifically to go on business trips and I didn't want to carry both a work laptop and a large gaming laptop. The ROG Flow was perfect - not needed for extremely resource-intensive games, but enough to be able to play almost anything (even at lower graphical settings), watch movies, etc. all in a light, 2-in-1 form factor. Really impressed by this machine. Only downsides I found are that the computer doesn't always switch properly to tablet mode when flipping the screen to 'tent', and early on I had an issue where the trackpad stopped working completely... restoring Windows resolved this. Because I'm guessing these are likely OS/driver type issues, willing to overlook it in the review.

||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this for about 2 months now and it's been great. I use it every day and it handles everything I throw at it with ease. Excellent for gaming so far, I've been testing the setting with Forza Horizon 5 and it handles it wonderfully.

She’s a Beauty
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don’t underestimate this “little laptop.” Seriously. It’s got the quality and performance, where it counts. Plus, it just plain looks good - with simple, sleek, clean lines, and a nicely textured chassis. Thin and lightweight, yet not in the least bit cheap or flimsy. An overall good, solid build. My gamer’s laptop was just not getting it done any longer, so was due to be ‘retired’ and replaced by something newer, faster, but just as ‘portable.’ And along came this ASUS ROG 13.4” Gaming Laptop. Asus is by far my favorite PC brand, so I was eager to give this beauty a try. I’m not bothered by this notebook PC’s smaller display. In fact, I prefer it. For me, the screen size allows me to feel more ‘immersed’ in the visual environment of my games. That isn’t to say I don’t appreciate a larger display, as I own other computers which I also game on, but for portability, this is just my personal preference. Setting up Windows was literally a breeze; the process has become so much more streamlined as the years go by. Downloading and installing all the necessary Windows updates was lightning fast. Then, I went about getting everything else set up in order to see what this machine was capable of. I installed the software for my gaming accessories, and several of my favorite games - two MMORPGs, a couple Steam ‘narrative’ type games, a ‘hack-and-slash’ action role-play game, and I also ran a FFXIV benchmark test - which scored “extremely high.” During actual gameplay, latency stayed below 30ms. I experienced no lag, hiccuping, stutter, or glitching even while in large groups, with graphic intensive effects. Transitioning to other areas of the game, waiting on loading screens, didn’t take nearly as long as my aforementioned notebook gaming computer. To be honest, I wasn’t all that sure about the AMD RYZEN 9 processor, even after doing a bit of internet research. I’d heard good and not so good, things. The NVIDIA Max-Q graphics was also a concern, as this just sounded to me like what NVIDIA named it, to make the graphics seem all that more awesome. However, I was duly impressed. This ASUS ROG gaming laptop has loads of great features. The 1 TB SSD should fit most people’s storage needs, with 16 GB RAM being more than adequate for basic gamers. The screen displays bright, clear visuals. The sound coming from the computer’s onboard speakers, is just average. But once I plugged in my gaming headset ... Wow! Although (because of the laptop’s size) there wasn’t a ‘dedicated number pad’ on the right hand side of the keyboard, the keys themselves were well-spaced, easy to read, and being backlit was quite nice. Another important thing to note - I didn’t feel gusts of heat coming out the exhaust ports. The only real ‘Con’ that I can mention, is that this computer could really use more ports. I’m having to plug in an adapter for all my wired gaming peripherals - keyboard, mouse, headset. It is good that there is an HDMI on this particular model, as my other notebook PC does not. Now, for this Asus laptop’s size, yes it does seem a bit “over priced”, in my opinion. Especially when compared to other ‘larger - more standard - sized’ gaming laptops, with similar features. Yet, you get what you pay for, and this laptop definitely ‘has the goods.’ Even better if you happen to find it “on sale.” So, with that being said ... is this ASUS ROG 13.4” Gaming Laptop worth it? I’d say yes. ASUS is a great brand, the build quality is on point, performance is just about all that you could ask for, it can handle graphics intensive games, has ample storage, and should last a decent amount of time before needing to be upgraded. I’m really enjoying mine. Definitely a worthy choice to consider when comparison shopping.

Snappy and Lightweight Laptop in 3 lb package!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the ASUS ROG X13 laptop! It has an 8 core CPU with 120 Hz 13.4" 1920x1200 screen, packed with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB NVME SSD. Love the specs and this laptop rocks! Most of all, it is very portable at just under 3 lbs. The 14" and 15.6" screen laptops are typically much heavier and forget about the portability of a 17" laptop. I can't comment on how well this laptop plays games but it is a great machine for a content creator. Most of the time, I am tethered to an external monitor so having a larger screen is not a factor. One drawback is the internal speakers are not quite loud enough; otherwise, this laptop clearly meets my needs.

Great Display -- But Issues From the Start
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the aspect ratio on the screen. Combined with the quality of the display, you almost forget that this is a 13" laptop. I also love the feel of the keyboard, but the touchpad takes some getting used to. However, I had to install so many updates after using the laptop for the first time (which I don't remember having to do for other new laptops I had in the past), and it did get pretty hot to the touch. The noise level for the fan was tolerable, but I was surprised that it seemed to take that much power to update the computer. The updates also weren't super intuitive, as I had to manually restart my laptop several times. With my previous ASUS laptop, all the updates were done at once and the computer restarts itself multiple times, but this time it did all of the updates individually. I had to be the one to restart the computer instead of the computer restarting itself automatically. I'm also not super tech savvy, so maybe this is an easy fix, but when I'm lying down watching videos and move my laptop into a different position, it changes the display settings in my Armory Crate. I'm not sure why it's doing this or how to fix it, so it can get really annoying when the screen brightness and color change for a split second before going back to the original setting I had it on. If I can work out the kinks, then I would rate this laptop higher. For now, I'll still recommend it because I think that this laptop has great potential, but if I can't work out the issues and someone else has this exact same problem, then it's not worth it. I was very excited getting this laptop, but I'm disappointed that I'm having so many issues from the very beginning.

Started off great, wish it lasted longer
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It worked great for about a year, then it started overheating for no apparent reason, I’ve checked the fans, even looked on the inside for dust, none. Put it on a cooling pad, didn’t help. Now it overheats and lags on just the Home Screen. Not sure what else to do. For the price, I expected it to work for much longer than it did.

Not bad
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are many gaming laptops in this range like g14 and g15 2060 and a few others but this thin n loght laptop is good esp if you fork over the 1500 for egup then becomes a much more powerful sysyem. Still not bad for this boy
