The best laptop I've ever owned but...

I can legit use this to replace a normal gaming desktop. The only problem I have is that when ran under high load the laptop smells like hot glue gun fumes. It's so bad that I thought something had caught fire in my house. Not sure if this is intended though?!

Helps if you want to zoom in on something specific on a pdf, or for using YouTube like a tablet. Battery. Lasts a good while for general use. Haven’t tested it while gaming, as I’m usually plugged in for that. Form factor. Love how portable it is. Definitely easy to carry around. Cons: Lack of upgradability. Ram is soldered on, and the SSD is the smallest nvme drive available. No extra slots, so your 1TB is all you get.

The specs were very good for a 13” laptop, wish I could have afforded the $1400.00 RTX 3080 graphics hub to go along with it. It would have been a keeper, but unfortunately between this ASUS and the ASUS Zephyrus G-14’s I bought, they all had issues with connecting to an external display through my usb C hub. Called ASUS support numerous times and they could not assist, they told me it was an issue with my particular usb C hub. I even told them previous G-14’s connected without any issues. Sadly, due to the connectivity issues I have returned all the ASUS products I purchased. I recently purchased the new Razer 14” w/RTX3070 and the Ryzen 5900HX. It did not disappoint, great display, fast, no issues connecting through my usb C hub. Very happy with my purchase.

I got a gaming computer in the hopes it wouldn't have any issues with the applications I have open. I work with Adobe suite, so I need multiple windows open. One of the big issues is that the fan is always blowing. It gets hot just from using a single application. If you want to buy this laptop, you definitely need a laptop fan or everything will get fried inside. The battery life is also subpar. It lasted only 2 hours from mild usage. You basically need to cling to a socket. The graphics are nice, but I worry about it overheating so much, I don't use it with the best visual settings.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on this model. We're sorry to hear about the overheating issues you're having with this model. There's a possibility that there are background apps and Windows updates causing the unit to perform as it does. What we've observed with the Windows 10 operating system is that once the unit is not being used all background and installed apps including Windows updates will fire up and check for and install updates. This will cause the unit to run a bit hotter than normal and in turn ramp up the fan speed. We would recommend that the user check for and install all updates for all installed applications. Also check for Windows updates and make sure they're installed. multiple restarts are recommended to ensure all updates are installed.

Worst Computer Experience Ever

The computer has blue screened and required a reinstallation of Windows 10. The wireless interface has difficulty connecting to known networks after starting up the computer. When connecting to third party USB-C docking station the laptop works alright at first but then has issues connecting to displays if reconnected to docking stations. The laptop is light, has a good battery life and alright at web browsing and light productivity, but despite having an AMD Ryzen 9 and Geforce RTX 3050TI it has been a horrible experience.
