I bought this because of the versatility that it offered, and its lived up to that mostly. Pros: lot of power in a compact package, 2n1 further boosts versatility, professional package that can have fun with features that benefit both (19x12 120Hz display, 2n1 good for creatives and tent mode good for gaming with open air for intakes and heat pushed out the top). Cons: that power in such a small package means it can't maintain the performance potential and battery life also suffers. eGPU box is pricey and proprietary connector will likely be replaced by Thunderbolt 4 (although that should be good for eGPU in general). Even though I actually like the aesthetic (well colors) of the "gamer bling LED" that often gets lamented, I do like the professional look and feel of the ROG Flow line. I also love the eGPU idea although the price kept me from bothering with it. I'm hoping TB4 will help alleviate many of the issues (proprietary connector, lack of options, price). I got it on sale, and for that price its pretty great all arounder, although for many other options (that focus on thin and light 2n1, or gaming) would likely be better.

This little laptop has far exceeded my expectations. Even at full retail I think this laptop is worth it based on performance and build quality, but at its current $1249 price it's a no-brainer. Full RTX feature support including resizable BAR and DLSS. Gaming is smooth and enjoyable without sacrificing graphic quality. The screen isn't large enough to warrant running most modern titles on "Ultra" or equivalent, so "high" settings work fine. On the new Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker demo, the 3050ti scored 10975 with avg frame rate of 76.5 tested at "High". For the sake of comparison, my OC'd i9-9900k with a FTW3 Ultra 3090 scored 15789 with an average of 109fps at 4k HDR "maximum" setting. The only other game I have really had time to play is Diablo 2: Resurrected, and it averages 75-100fps with graphics maxed and DLSS on. The 120hz display is fantastic, no tearing or artifacts while gaming. There is a slight learning curve to getting Armoury Crate and the Radeon software configured, but it's well worth the time investment if you plan to use the laptop on battery much. In Armoury Crate it's very easy to configure gpu power saving so the 3050ti shuts off on battery power, then turns back on when plugged back in. You can also assign through the Nvidia Control Panel what apps use what gpu..and the radeon igpu is way, way better than intel iris xe. With a little tweaking you can get some nice battery life out of this laptop without any noticeable performance drop. For me, in normal unplugged operation the fans never even came on during a 4 hour stretch of work with 2 desktops running using Edge with 10 tabs open on each desktop, plus all the background stuff running in tray (Dropbox, Teams, Battle.net, iCloud etc.) And I still had 60% batter left with the screen being on 100% of the time. No issues with build quality either. it's not quite as solid as a MacBook Pro (when doing a corner hold) but close enough. Hinges are tight but not overly so, and no issues with flexing. Anyway, very happy with purchase!

This machine really surprised me. I love that the nVMe drive is supposedly upgradable (based on other videos online..... I haven't opened it)... but that it is just so fast. I expected a decent speed increase but this is at least 2x as fast my desktop. Rocket League plays at 60fps with everything at maximum with 1920x1200 screen. It's really quick. One USB-A and one USB-C port which is fine, but it has an actual HDMI port and you're not stuck using just USB-C for that.... but it's really just so thin... This really surprised me with how quick this feels when using it on Windows 11. This was bought as an Open Box item since I've never had a problem with BB's Open box items... one problem with it was that there was a hidden partition on the drive for 600GB that wasn't set as a drive letter. Almost like someone redid the Windows install but didn't log in after to check that the partitions actually erased. So I added the drive letter to the system and it showed someone else's files.... pictures and other documents. MalwareBytes was run to do a virus scan and all was cleaned... so I removed the partition and deleted the recovery partition since it was smack dab in the middle of the drive at the 300GB mark.... now I have that one single partition with 1TB on it Not sure how that happened but it was easy to fix and I didn't pull any of that data off... it's not mine and I don't care what it is. It was on a bitlocker partition so just overwriting it should make it harder to even have to deal with in the future. Anyway, I love this laptop. Keyboard is great... better than an Apple one but one where I honestly feel comfortable using it. Sometimes the fan really kicks in when gaming but when I check task manager, the speed is at 4GHz+ so I can see why it would go on. But despite that, I'm just getting it all set up and with it, it just works... screen is great... Definite improvement over what I had before in terms of speed. Highly recommend this

I needed something that I could comfortably use for work, but that could occasionally serve as a simple gaming laptop. These expectations in mind, this laptop didn't disappoint! Is this the best option for gaming? No. Is this the best work-centered laptop? No. This is a niche blend of the two that gets most things right! If you want a powerful convertible laptop that is light, versatile, and can handle light gaming, this is it! It is a little expensive, but there really isn't anything else quite like it out there right now.

The pen support is almost bad enough to be unuseable, but it is technically there. Screen is just okay. It can play games, but gets incredibly loud while doing so. If you know you need this, then you know you need this. But if you're at all uncertain, I'd advise you to get almost anything else (especially at this price)

If you are wondering if you should buy this, don't. I was able to play SC 2 on ultra setting even without the eGPU. I ordered the Egpu a week later directly from Asus because I wanted more usb ports and the ability to play more intensive games. I know best buy has the bundle online (Laptop and eGPU) Asus has also been wonderful to work with (registering product, ordering more things etc...) Very happy I also got this for $100 off on a sale best buy was having on the day I started looking for a new laptop!

Purchased this to replace an aging 15.6 MSI light-weight gaming laptop. As I am traveling more for work than ever, portability was extremely important to me. My old MSI, while thin and light, really lacked the build quality to stand up to travel and just day-to-day carrying in a back pack. The Flow 13 has so little flex that I have no worries about tossing it in my backpack or luggage. The Ryzen processor is really the only way to go for portable performance in this current generation. The 3050ti is not a powerhouse GPU but it does a good job with any games I have played on it. There are similarly sized gaming laptops with more powerful GPUs but they also lack the 2-in-1 features of the Flow 13. I have enjoyed using a stylus for some graphic and photo editing. Also, using Microsoft Onenote with a stylus for math and other diagraming is an experience that is hard to replicate on anything that is not a 2-in-1. At time of initial purchase, I did plan on getting the external graphics for this. I'm not so sure now as it has stood up to my usual travel games pretty well. I have a desktop for more graphically demanding games. I only hope that Asus decides to make future external graphics available using their proprietary connector. It would be great to hook an RTX 4000 or 5000 series card to this in the future. My only complaint is that this only has 1 USB A port. If you are planning on using a wireless (not bluetooth) mouse with this, you will probably end up needing a dongle for any other USB devices. It does have 2 USB C ports which are great, but I have way more USB A than USB C devices. USB C charging is great. I can use the included charger for full power, or just plug this into a phone charger to keep it juiced while I am doing less demanding tasks. Ultimately, I think this has a very niche audience - ultra portable power but also needing 2-in-1 functions. However, if you are in that group, I can't think of a better laptop to buy.

Great for moderate gaming. Works well for digital art as well(w/MS pen) in tablet mode. Productivity is excellent. The R9 flies through tasks paired with 32gig ram(upgraded). Rtx 3050ti performs admirably at lower settings. Rtx3080 will own any game at any setting. Battery has good duration with RTX disabled. 3-4 hrs on 3050, power supply a must for 3080.

This bad boy is great if you don't need a lot of graphical power. The portability of this device is so great. You won't notice it in your backpack. Battery life could be better. You need to tweak some settings to get decent battery life. The 3050ti is good for the 1080p/120hz panel but don't expect to max out the settings on Cyberpunk or anything. I have a gaming desktop so I don't need a very powerful laptop

Nice little gaming laptop. The downside is with it's small size there's no room for upgrades. Chip-on-board ram is the problem. Other than that setup is quick and easy and performance is pretty good. The screen is tiny and very had to read with. I'd recommend using the HDMI port to a larger screen.

7 Surface Pens do not work in vertical orientation

At $1349.99, this laptop is amazing on paper. It has excellent performance that no other ultraportable 2-in-1 even comes close to. However, there is one significant issue that makes the laptop not worth it. When using the device in tablet mode in vertical orientation with your palm touching the screen, it is almost impossible to write notes. If I use ruled paper in vertical orientation with OneNote and touch one line of the page using my finger or palm, the pen does not work on that line. The pen does work on lines above and below the line I am touching. To handwrite notes in vertical orientation, I have to angle my wrist in a weird way such that the pen is completely above or below the lines that my palm is touching. This happens even if the touch screen is turned off in device manager, so it does not seem like a palm rejection issue. This also happens if I use the rotation lock feature to lock the screen in horizontal orientation, but hold the device vertically. It seems like touching the screen disables an entire line of the pen digitizer. Although I initially noticed this issue in OneNote, I also tested Microsoft Whiteboard, Snip and Sketch, and Microsoft Edge's PDF annotation tools. All of them have the same issue writing in vertical orientation. I initially thought that this was due to a faulty pen digitizer on the unit I received and ordered a replacement unit. However, the replacement unit has the exact same issue. To rule out the possibility of my pen being faulty, I went to a local Best Buy store and tested out the laptop with the Surface Pens they had on display (they did not have any Asus pens, but many reviews say Surface Pens work well, so I tested the laptop with them). In total, I tried 2 Platinum Surface Pens, 1 Ice Blue Surface Pen, 1 Poppy Red Surface Pen, 2 Charcoal Surface Pens, and 1 Black Surface Slim Pen. I doubt that 7 Surface Pens in a row would be defective, so it seems like both the original and replacement laptop had faulty pen digitizers. Given that two laptops in a row had the exact same issue, I will be returning both of them. Most 2 in 1 laptops today do not have any problems accepting pen input in any orientation even if your palm is touching the screen, but this laptop is unable to do that properly, making it unusable for notetaking.
