Great laptop overall. For the price I got it I can’t complain. Wait for it to go on sale again. It can definitely handle gaming. Although you won’t be getting top notch frame rates, it’s more than enough for what I need. I do wish the screen was mini led instead of ips. But compared to other gaming laptops with the matte ips screen this one blows those displays out the water. The only other drawback I can think of is that under stress if it’s not on a stand or in the folded position it overheats very very easily. With the regular price this item is nowhere near worth it. However, the sale price is a steal in my opinion.

I gave my MAC M1 to my wife for college and wanted to switch back to windows.
Here is why I can tell you this laptop is a winner.
1. 2 and 1: This is rare for a gaming laptop. I have an ipad, but dislike how there is no stand. I have the keyboard for the ipad pro, but damaged the screen overtime. This laptop has a lot of surface area to just browse when on the couch or in bed.
2. Battery Life: It's insane for long it lasts. Most people are not aware, but if you put it in silent mode and eco for the GPU, you barely hear the fan running. It will last an easy 8+ hours. It last longer than my M1 Mac. Remember, you charge this laptop via USB-C which I have many around the house. I keep the 240w charger by the bed because ... why not? I do not have to drag it around.
3. Screen - This is a normal screen, but with the 165hz, windows runs buttery smooth. Honestly, it's quite good and I use an 42 C2 OLED with my main gaming computer.
4. Graphics Card - It has a graphics card and works perfectly. I can play most of my games maxed out in turbo mode at 60-90 fps. Remember, this is a laptop and this is best on the go.
I tested the Alienware 14, ROG 14 i7 3060, ROG 14 1650, ROG 16 i9 3070ti, HPs 16 OLED 4k 360x convertible, and several others.
Here is what I can tell you, you will find the right balance in this laptop. You can upgrade both ram sticks to 64gb, add a second NVME and has a micro sd card slot. It's basically a portable powerhouse. I'm looking forward to the ROG 16 13th gen i9 4070ti.

Great gaming laptop, TOO fast for business use

I'd never purchased a gaming laptop before. This had an i9 processor, and the fastest I'd ever gotten was an i7. Was really looking for a good business type of laptop, but the graphics on this thing were incredible. Plus, the price was discounted nearly 45% compared to Amazon and other sellers. I have to say, the graphics were truly spectacular. Since I wanted it for business purposes, I found it a little TOO responsive to every small touch--the screen would instantly change from the smallest movement. Maybe great for gamers, but not for business needs. I ended up returning it, to get more of a standard business laptop. But nothing beats the graphics on this one.

One of the best laptops I have used. I Used this as my daily driver and honestly if configured correctly the battery life will get you through a solid day, which is pretty impressive for a power house of a laptop. This Chip can run a little hot but I used everything conservatively with low power mode and I rarely ever felt the underside of the computer get hot. Additionally, The screen is massive and really beautiful, one of the best QHD screens I have seen on a laptop. Touch screen is really responsive and pairs well with windows 11. There is not too much I can say is terrible about this laptop honestly the best laptop you can buy and the best windows/gaming PC that I would recommend.

Awesome laptop that meets all of my expectations for work and gaming! I am pleased with the compactness and speed of this device and on top of that it is a portable 2 in 1 with a touchscreen. I was also pleasantly surprised by the store manager in Tulsa, Ms Phillippi. I purchased the laptop just before a price drop. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of ordering the laptop again to get the cheaper price but this was done on the wrong card and made things very difficult for other stores to fix because the price went back up after the sale. The manager was able to fix this purchase and made me happy to be a best buy customer.

Short and to the point - this is a great performer for the money (especially when bought on sale at Best Buy). Sure, it's last year's model but it is plenty good. You can bump to 64GB RM for less than $200 and get another performance bump by installing two drives with RAID 0. Get another bump in performance and versatility with an XG Mobile. I probably own and cycle through too many computers for my own good but if anyone were to ask me for a decent PC recommendation, I'd immediately say the Asus X16. If you can get a 2022 version, fantastic. Otherwise the 2023 is even sweeter (especially if you're getting into programming or data science).

Amazing Laptop for coding and productivity. Battery is amazing solid 12 hour battery with the IPS model where i don't have to worry about battery constantly. I use USB -c more than i thought i would. Display is amazing for an IPS unit the blacks are near OLED level but not OLED. This will solve the purpose of most of the people out there without any issues
Only issue i faced was i have to un-install Armory crate and restart the system , then re-install the armory crate system.

I purchased this laptop to replace my MacBook Pro since I wanted something versatile for school and gaming. Needless to say this laptop has been great even with photo editing!
One thing I will say is that the laptop tends to get hot meaning your fans will be running and making noise and battery tends to drain quickly. However, that hasn’t impacted my experience with this laptop or its performance.

excellent laptop that actually crushes a much more expensive laptop that I own. It somehow manages to stay fairly cool for a gaming laptop despite being such a small formfactor. I love that it flips into a tablet that I can write on. primarily purchased it for pleasure I have found countless ways to make it effective at my job, it comes in handy when I'm writing estimates because I can take notes and make site maps on the fly.

This laptop is a really solid 2 in 1. I've used a surface for years, but wanted a little more power under the hood for playing games and using CAD software. This laptop handles everything I've thrown at it so far.
There are only two things I wish were different about the Flow X16: I wish it had 8 gigs of VRAM so it supported entry level AI, and I wish it handled dynamic gpu switching a bit better. Refresh rate and g-sync/freesync mismatch caused the panel (beautiful by the way) to freak out/sign me out of windows every minute or so.
After selecting 60hz and disabling freesync, the problem went away. Armoury Crate (ugh) is obviously underdeveloped garbage, and continued dynamic switching cards even though it completely seized up my device.
If you aren't a bit of a troubleshooter, Asus won't hold your hand with this otherwise rockin' tablet-top. If you're the person everyone calls when things don't work, you'll have this thing bending over backwards for you in no time at all.

I initially bought this to use as my daily driver desktop replacement. On paper it checks all the boxes. It really is a great laptop and has pretty good gaming performance in a very light and thin frame. Unfortunately, at the time I bought it I paid around $2000 and the higher spec G16 was available at a lower price ($1500). I sacrificed a bit extra weight and the touch screen for a higher spec laptop at a cheaper price. Now that the 2023 model is out I see the price has come down to about $1300 and I think this is a great value for what you get in this laptop.

The touch & feel was ok, but it looked like my 2001 IBM Thinkpad. Even my 3 years old Dell was looking more modern than this.
for performance, I am hooked to OLED. I was not happy with this display. high refresh rate means nothing when you see ghosting in normal netflix & youtube.
Pros:
Performance, cooling, touch screen
Cons:
Ugly, heavy, terrible display.

Great PC but i wish it had lightning connectivity. Overall great proformance! I produce music, stream, and edit videos and it packs a punch. I was capturing and streaming video from 5 sources and i had ableton open doing sound design, and then I had to open Davinci a video production software and I had a moment of WOW! I had no dropped frames!
Using the laptop as a tablet is nice too I can can just relax and browse youtube but its a bit heavy.
Cant wait for lightning compatibility!

This computer is lightweight, well designed, and has ample power for day to day tasks and light editing and gaming. The 3060 inside this Flow X16 is actually significantly higher wattage than in the Zephyrus M16’s, which surprised me. Excepting the flex of the screen, it’s also well built, and the digitizer works fine for Windows Ink pens. Not just that, the typing experience is far above par for most laptops you get these days.
The things that really hold this laptop back for me are all the little issues. This laptop, no matter what ROG performance profile or Windows power settings are on, sometimes randomly blacks out the screen and returns you to the lock screen, as if randomly sleeping and waking from sleep. This happens sometimes so frequently that it renders the computer unusable for me, and for academic work, it can really break your flow. However, I installed a copy of Windows 10 onto the computer instead of the included Windows 11, and I heard things about updating the BIOS and ASUS software, so YMMV. Additionally, this laptop runs quite warm, even on the Silent performance profile. Although your hands aren’t as subject to this heat, it’s ironic that this “laptop” doesn’t like sitting on your lap. Having a stand to elevate the base of the laptop is pretty much a given.
The battery life is okay, but pretty middling. Some days, it would last me through the entire days work and sometimes it puts out just around 4-5 hours even with low brightness, 60hz refresh rate, and the dGPU disabled. I can’t imagine my workflow, which mainly consists of the Google suite and Microsoft Excel, is too power hungry either.
All in all, though it’s a unique experience, I think a low power Intel i7 laptop like an 1165g7 or 1260p laptop combined with a Thunderbolt GPU enclosure like the Razer Core X is a better option for those who need a work laptop but want to game at home all on one system. I can’t imagine normal users needing the dGPU power on the go, especially considering battery life.
Hope this helps you make a decision on whether to buy.

The laptop has a really good performance, I would definitely recommend it to people who are into gaming and a college student as well because of its touchscreen feature that made it one of the best gaming laptop you could get in the market. I love ASUS ROG ever since and this was my first laptop, I am so happy with my decision of picking this laptop. Would definitely give it more than five stars!

This is a special beast. Pen supported tablet, laptop, powerful enough to replace a desktop, fully upgradable, cool, quiet, good battery life, great speakers, under 4.5lbs, feels durable, great color accurate display with over 4,000,000 pixels to work with… What else could you want in in a computer? This will max the settings out on most games and still get over 50 fps of heavier titles like red dead and cyberpunk max settings. Tweak those a bit and it gets over 60fps with ease. With easy access to two slots for DDR5 memory, two for pcie gen 4 ssds, external gpu options that are actually portable this is the pinnacle of laptop design and ASUS really knocked it out of the park here.

Amazing laptop. One Hardware Issue though

Amazing laptop. And for the sale price of 1099 you really can't beat it, considering if you look at the specs and capabilities it should be closer to the 1500 mark right now.
PSA though, if anyone receives this laptop and has issues with Blue Screen of Death. Check event viewer in windows and if you are getting Whea Error 17s, that is the reason for the blue screen and there is an easy fix. Simply open up the laptop and move the nvme ssd to the second slot (the one not above the wificard). This will fix your blue screen issues. There is a hardware issue in that one nvme port in some laptop models. Funnily enough, the 2023 X16 also comes with the nvme in the other slot so I think ASUS might have caught on as well. Ever since I switched the nvme to the other slot I have had zero issues. You can add a second nvme drive to that slot btw and it will work, just can't have the one with windows on it in the slot.
Even if you are not getting Blue Screens I would recommend still going to event viewer and seeing if you have the Whea Errors. If you are getting them then you will see them popping up like every minute. If you don't have them then you got a laptop without the hardware issue!
I am willing to overlook this small issue due to the amazing specs and quality of the laptop and for its great price.

I bought this because the miniled version was out of production but overall returned it for an OLED Gaming laptop.
The goods
Battery life- Decent won't last a whole work day but then again its a gaming laptop I would get roughly 4-5 hours.
Keyboard- RGB and very good tactility
form factor- a 2-1 gaming laptop is unique they did a good job with it.
bad- I had pretty bad backlight bleed on the IPS panel
buggy- Even after bios update and all the windows updates I would get some random crashes to the point I ended up actually returning the laptop
