The single worst laptop I have owned.

This laptop is designed for a very specific type of user - one who won't get by on a similarly spec'd laptop for hundreds less because they want this unit, this 2-in-1 form factor specifically. If this is what you're looking for, the market is slim. And your success rate will be slimmer. I've been through 2 HP Spectres in 3 years, each burnt out from terrible cooling. I thought I was in the clear when this device had the most magnificent cooling I've seen and incredible battery life, a QHD display, and speed I need. But roughly a week of usage in, and I've watched the computer crash on me not once or twice, but 5 times. 4 of the 5 times I was running basic tasks - just basic homework in Canvas on Google Chrome - when the device suddenly went black and I was hit with the boot animation. The laptop was whisper quiet and perfectly cool before the sudden error message-less crash, yet it shut off inexplicably. Finally, a fifth time, it shut off during a competitive match of Overwatch that my last laptop (an MSI GS66 that I returned solely for the buggy keyboard on almost every unit) with similar specs (an i7 instead of an R9 and DDR4 16GB instead of DDR5) and the same graphics card handled expertly. This laptop is BAD in practice. This issue is underdocumented but has been plaguing AMD-based units apparently for over 2 years with no response from AMD and no comment from ASUS. Some said uninstall some of the native ASUS software and it'll solve it and it only made it less frequent. I shouldn't have to lose your software to reduce crashes. I had a lot of respect for ASUS before this purchase because of a good laptop of theirs in the past. I was wary of AMD before this because of their reputation in the past, but this is the nail in the coffin for both brands for me.

    So bummed :(

I was so excited to see this on sale. Such an amazing laptop. Rtx 3060 and ryzen 9? For $800 off? Let’s go! Nope. Got home. Had to power down 3 times before I could do anything. I got this laptop with intentions for college work and some gaming. Started playing a more laxed game called satisfactory. Which my pc with a 3060 plays smoothly. And it kept having issues. The mouse would go unresponsive. And the keys would delay. I thought maybe I need to restart since I just downloaded the game. Nope. Same issues. Then it froze. I gave up. Today at work, I decided to give it one more chance. I’m working over time and have a lot of down time. So I figured I could at least use Netflix. AGAIN. Can’t even run that. It goes completely black. Downloaded the app, thought that was the issue. Nope. Again. Won’t even play the previews without glitching. Sooooo bummed. I always wanted a gaming lap top. I can see why it was $800 off. Paid $1200 for it. Returning it today when I get off. Would give 0 stars if I could.

I really wanted to love this laptop. The screen is beautiful and it has snappy performance. But, there is a reason for the steep discount and amount of open boxes for sale. From the first time I set it up to use it, it would randomly reboot. I’m thinking it’s related to the wireless card they have installed. A week later, the touchpad and power light don’t work at all. The laptop takes a couple minute just to show the boot screen and boot into Windows. The quality control is severely lacking.

    Randomly reboots!!! Avoid!!

From the specs and all the reviews this laptop should’ve been perfect. however, after going through two different units, there is a fatal flaw that ASUS acknowledges on their own website, but does not have a fix for why this laptop randomly reboots whenever it wants to. I tested this on both windows 10 and 11, both being fresh installs from Microsoft servers and even used ASUS recovery image that comes preloaded with laptop as well. In all instances, it didn’t matter what I was doing, the laptop would just perform a hard restart whenever it wanted to. It wasn’t a thermal issue or heavy usage issue as the laptop will restart even at idle. I even freshly installed windows 11, and within five minutes got a blue screen saying critical service failure and the system started. After reboot, I checked the event viewer for what service was the cause and nothing was listed. Half the time I don’t even get a blue screen, I just get a black screen and then the ASUS logo appears after it restarts. I thought it was just a fluke with the first unit I had, but after returning that one and getting a second one, and having exact same issue, tells me that it’s a manufacturing issue with one of the components inside the laptop and that needs to be addressed ASAP. Unfortunately, when you go to thier website for Support and select that you purchased the laptop from Best Buy, it automatically closes out the support page and tells you to contact Geeksquad support and nothing else. It doesn’t let you put in a ticket in, even though it’s under manufacture warranty still. It has been an absolute nightmare trying to get any support from ASUS after purchasing both units from Best Buy. They basically wash the hands of any support and expect Geeksquad to be able to help you out. This is not a Geeksquad issue. This is an Asus manufacturing issue , but there’s no way to notify them as you cannot even call in to support and open up a ticket either as the same thing happens over the phone. They’ll just tell you to contact geeksquad for any support on the laptop. They basically are abandoning all of their customers who purchase laptops from Bestbuy. Asus needs to fix the hardware issues on this laptop as well as all the support issues or lack there of, before I will buy any of their laptops again or recommend them as a brand. I loved the brand and I loved all there products, this was my fourth Asus laptop after all, but something seems to have gone wrong with the quality control with the 2022 and 2023 model laptops as well as there customer support. I honestly am sad to see the once king of pc products fall so fast.

This was perfect for my needs as a gamer and an artist who needed basically an all in one for work. Screen is awesome, games ran great, etc. but I am running into frustrating issues. From day 1 I have been experiencing blue screens of death. Went through and updated everything and it still continued. Now it has gotten to the point that the BSOD will occur, followed by the bios stating that no boot drive is detected(does not show the SSD is even installed) which then would require me to hard shut down the computer for it to come back and reboot. I also have an issue where event shower will literally show hundreds of WHEA 17 error with the PCI express, but only while the laptop is plugged into power. On battery this issue doesn’t persist. I have gone through a few days of trying to troubleshoot the laptop. I have gone as far as doing a clean install of the system and nothing has fixed the issues.

We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience if you started experiencing BSOD issue and the boot drive not being detected. To resolve the issue, please disconnect any external devices connected, do a system reboot and enter the BIOS setup page and load default settings. If boot drive issue still persisted, we recommend that you take it to the nearest BestBuy store for further testing.

Purchased this computer with high hopes because it had all the functions my son wanted for school plus a few bells and whistles. And it was on sale at that time. This did not pan out well. Picked it up and went straight to Geek Squad for the initial set up. Received a call the next day that the computer itself was not working. So the exchanged it for another unit. I understand this happens so, no big deal. Picked up the 2nd computer. Within 2 days had to go back to Geek Squad with a software issue. Picked it up again and went home. Again 2 days later, several function keys would not work. Made another trip to Geek Squad and was told again it was a problem with the computer itself. Those keys would not work at all. The computer was not even seeing them. And we would need to exchange it for yet a 3rd computer. At this point I had had enough. We returned it and went back to Lenovo. A brand we had already had great experience with. I wanted to like this computer but after 3 trips and a 3rd unit, enough was enough.

I waited patiently for about a year to be able to purchase this laptop. I wanted the specific features it offers and saved my money so I could buy it. 1st laptop had a CTRL key that stuck 1 week after getting it. Took it to Best Buy and they told me I had to exchange it. All my work I put into it loading apps, configuration, etc. lost. But ok. Called in for support to see if it could be fixed. No, they had to exchange it. Ordered a new one which took several days, I show up to Best Buy to get my order, it was canceled without my knowledge for some reason so I had to wait AGAIN for another order. But this time, I had to leave my new laptop there for the exchange so I had no laptop for days waiting on the replacement. 2nd laptop I have had it 10 days, just enough time to get everything reinstalled and think this is all behind me but no. When you lean on the right front corner (like for typing), it goes to sleep mode. If you mash on it again, it comes back. Well, it did. Now it won't power on at all. I work in IT for a living and I have NEVER seen such poor quality control. Come on ASUS! I don't know what I am going to do now. I love this laptop but it is definitely not work the repeated problems.

DO NOT BUY this product. I purchased this laptop for my daughter to attend college and this is the 2nd laptop (1st one returned) and the screen in the middle of work logs out and requires face id or pin which is distracting. Best Buy will not accept my return because i missed the 15 day return window by 2 days. Absolutely terrible customer service by Best Buy. Spent plenty of time on several phone calls to Best Buy trying to exchange/return it to no avail.

This laptop is grea kind of proformance is awesome but the motherboard that that asus used for this model is terrible. One month after i purchased it an issue occured where only the keyboard lights would come on nothing else. I took it to geeksquad and they sent it to be repaird when they returned it they said that it was the motherboard that went bad it is now currently having the same issue. I purchased it in july the first issue was in augaust its now the beginning of december. I feel asthough a cheap laptop should last at least 2 years before running into a major issue and one that is over $1000 should be 3-5years.

      Dear Robert,

Undoubtedly, it is a high-performance or a powerful laptop.

If you are experiencing blue-screen, system crash or auto shutdown while running editing programs, please verify if these programs are Windows 11 compliant and are running with the most current version. Check if Windows, chipset and video drivers are up to date. Keeping Windows and drivers updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance. Also, please ensure air ventilations are free from obstructions while running programs or appplications that are utilizing high system resources. High system resource utilzation will generate more heat that may cause system crash or auto-shutdown. If these steps were already performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. If this is not pre-installed on the laptop, please download the application at the Microsoft Store. For details on how to use "My ASUS", please go to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1041686/.

Writing a 1 star review because of ASUS. Horribly company. Decent laptop, but i will never purchase an ASUS product again because of their warranty practices.

Ended up having to return it. After 2 days it got a black screen while playing elden ring and it never turned back on. Geek squad couldn’t even get it to turn on not sure what it was.

I am on my second unit. First one had a faulty left speaker. The second unit that I exchanged for a few days ago is having the same issue many people on Reddit with the same unit are reporting as well as another reviewer here. Receiving many hundreds of WHEA 17 error with the PCI express in the windows event log (while plugged into power, but not on battery). I was getting blue screen of death crashes several times a day. I did a complete wipe and fresh/clean install of Windows 11 and so far I haven't had any BSOD crashes, but I am still getting the event log warnings (100s every minute) when plugged in. I am debating exchanging this one for a third time (for the same model again) or just getting a completely different laptop because this is ridiculous ...such poor quality control on the part of ASUS

Windows crashed every 15-30 minutes from the moment I first turned it on. I also had to do set up twice. I had to exchange it for a different model
