He was wanting a different laptop, but this one was on sale and far exceeded what he needed or asked for. The dedicated video and solid state drive make this thing super fast, and the ASUS Republic of Gamers line has been a favorite for a long time. If another one was available, I would have purchased two that day.

I installed an extra 32 GB ram stick to give it a boost and it works like a champ and I am able to play Fortnite and COD on it... runs much better than my Xbox One! Also works very well for programming. The speakers are very high quality and the graphics are nice as well.

It has a lot of features i like and need and was an upgrade to what i had before. the keys are very comfortable and also the pad is not in a position that i keep bumping it with my wrist causing so much frustration like my previous laptop was.

Then the screws came out of the frame. Extremely good performance and I'm very happy with the computer but it fell apart extremely quickly and now I'm out a gaming computer because the same issue (no longer charging via ANY way but removing the back cover and independently charging the 3 hr (at peak performance) battery) came back. We had a repair shop look at it and they said it is the motherboard again. The cost of a motherboard replacement is nearly the cost of the laptop.
