    It's my first time buy the ROG. I WAS a little bit disappointed with that. After 2 months, the GPU fan rattles severely and has big noise. And bestbuy ask me to talk with factory. It's only 2 months! My god!

    Machine Good, Speakers "OMG Aweful"

    Purchased two of these for my Daughters, They were good compared to the past Machines. I purchased because I have one that works good(Battery Dead though) . But when playing music on speakers. OMG - They are sub standard. And we just purchased them last month and a half ago. They sound as if they are blown, and they rattle. Just noticed now when I was with my Daughter.

    Thorough Review After 2 Years Of Ownership.

    This was one of my first gaming oriented computer I've ever had, and was a big upgrade compared to the weak HP laptop with no dedicated GPU. To get straight to the point, let's begin with all the issues I've experienced with this laptop for the past year and a half. The main issue I've had with this laptop is the excessive overheating. Cooling issues have always been an issue at the very start of getting this laptop. There is practically no intake vents to get in fresh air, only vents to expel hot air. The air being so hot I can keep a plate of food warm enough with it. There is tiny holes at the end of the laptop to get in some air, but they're practically useless since they're so small, and get clogged with dust. Thanks to ASUS ROG cheaping out on the thermal paste, The CPU will shoot up to 95-100 degrees Celsius upon mild load, and will stay that way. It'll begin to thermal throttle excessively limiting more of it's performance. However the GPU manages to remain at a fair temperature, just not so much the CPU.. The lack of ram (which is upgradable) is very frustrating. With only 8 GB, it's barely enough to get by, let alone comfortably. 2-4 GB of ram is reserved by hardware and software, only leaving you with 4-6 gb of free memory. The laptop will begin to freeze up and stay that way for a few seconds until it can recover. The ram is only rated for 2600 MHZ, but I feel like it's not near close that speed, multitasking is okay.. but it's annoying not having the extra ram, which would be helpful. The GPU on the laptop is the 16 series 1650 Mobile at 4gb , which fails horribly when comparing it to other mobile and desktop GPUs. I compared a GTX 1030 2 GB (Desktop) and the 1650, and the 1030 had outperformed it by a long shot, which is quite tragic considering that the 1030 has half the VRAM of the 1650, and pretty much being an entry-level GPU. Storage is a little bit of an issue but it's not entirely horrible. You get a little over 500GB of storage which you can learn to live with if you're smart at what you download. The refresh rate is rated around 120-144 HZ, which is completely false. The built-in screen does not exceed more than 60 HZ. however an external monitor can be plugged in to be ran at a higher refresh rate, but some performance will be sacrificed. As seen in the photos of this laptop, there is no webcam. For some this will be an issue, but for other demographics it will not. The laptop also comes with a built in mic, but the mic placement is awful. It's located at the bottom of the screen, and when enabled, the quality is very disappointing. You will be able to hear the typing of the keyboard VERY audibly, which is not ideal for video calls or Discord calls. In fact it's very irritating. When speaking normally. the quality of the audio is simply straight up bad, so you're better off using a headset with a mic, or buying a USB studio mic to talk with. Now moving onto pros, the CPU of the laptop (despite overheating almost always) tops out around 4 GHZ at max load, (4.5 is obtainable with overclocking, but I highly suggest not doing it) and always promises good boot up speeds, download speeds. and cpu-intensive games or apps. The build quality of the laptop is quite sturdy, but obviously not indestructable like most gaming oriented laptops. It's slim and easily portable, which makes it decent for moving around. ASUS ROG has implemented their own software to monitor temperature and control other features of the laptop, like the RGB keyboard. The software is simple, organized, and easy to understand and use. To conclude my review, I'd say that it is simply not worth the money. Is it good? It's okay.. give this to anyone who has never had a gaming-focused computer, they'll be happy with it. But to people who care about performance and such, it's not for you. For $999-$1100 USD you can land yourself a solid desktop to outperform this laptop by a long shot. Or a better laptop.. but desktops will always have the most performance, since mobile CPUS and GPUS have to sacrifice a good chunk of their performance in order to be fitted into a laptop. There's a reason why people stay away from laptops, don't waste your money!

    Charger port broke.

    Charging port was messed up out of the box, it didn't fit well in the port so it had to be messed around with, and on a long flat surface. Then it just wouldn't charge at all so I can't use the computer at all 3 weeks into having it.

    Unable to activate windows 10 after calling Best Buy I was told I need to contact MicroSoft to get the key. If MicroSoft is unable to provide the key I will have the option of returning the laptop to BestBuy. Not happy at all.

    I've never had a single issue with this laptop. It's played every game I've ever thrown at it, with a minor RAM upgrade just this year, and I've had it for about 5 years now. Will definitely be sticking to this brand when I upgrade.
