This is an okay PC. Honestly the motherboard, CPU, and GPU are the best parts of this PC. The case gets very hot and could cause a lot of issues for the hardware inside. The CPU cooler also sounds like a jet engine when under load and could use an upgrade. This PC would be a decent buy to start and upgrade on because the hardware that comes with it has good potential. This PC would be good for some light gaming, school work and even some professional work. But for serious gaming, and heavy taxing tasks, this PC would need upgrades or could be bypassed for a better all around system.

      Dear Dtjbt,

I'm sorry to hear that the unit is overheating. This is not the kind of experience we want our customers to have. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient airflow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource-hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. For further troubleshooting, feel free to reach out to me at customerloyalty@asus.com and provide this link for reference. I'll do my best to provide a quick resolution to your case. Your feedback is important as it helps with improvements to ASUS Support channels.

Hdd was faulty best buy can only return whole pc, Ausu said i need to mail in the whole pc for repair shipping cost more then the hdd. Great pc gets warm but not hot, fans amp on high is loud but not horrible. Needs antenna hooked up for Bluetooth. Looks nice runs smoothly. I bought on sale so worth it, but at the $2100 price i probably look it to liquid cooling and more sdd and better ram.

So as all other reviews note, this computer has excellent parts that can be hard to get a hold of. Unfortunately for the PC, that is all it has going for it. The 92mm air cooling system is frankly not strong enough to keep the CPU core temperatures down. Even when launching pretty tame games as far as graphics are concerned, all of my CPU cores would hit at least 95 degrees Celsius, though most would hit over 100 degrees Celsius. The red light labeled “CPU” on the mother board turned on far more than it should for a brand new PC. There is a single 92mm exhaust fan that is incredibly noisy. In 20 years of PC gaming I’ve never had a computer this loud. There are not intake fans, and based off looking around the case, I’m willing to bet they would be hard to install and not really have as much of an impact as they should, though that is speculation. If you are struggling to get some strong parts and want to run some high end games at max graphics with good frame rate, this might be a good deal for you. But I’m rating this on the build of the computer itself, and how well all the parts put together complement each other to being a good gaming PC. With that in mind, I would give 0 stars if I could. I can only recommend this product if you really want to put the extra work and money into completely redoing the cooling system, and potentially buying a new case for it. Just keep in mind tinkering with the PC like that will void your warranty.

Great components for the price. Cooling in the case is poor with stock fans as noted in other reviews. Temps sitting at 90-100 Celsius at medium loads, not ideal. Included ram is also pretty weak, 2x8gb. 2x16gb added and put into a Corsair 5000X case with iCue h150i AIO and it’s an amazing value and high performing machine. Haven’t hit 70 C or higher yet even under heavy loads. Definitely worth upgrading the case and CPU cooler.

the RAM and the CPU cooler in this PC are both junk. both need to be replaced. if you buy this computer, you should upgrade both. HAVING SAID THAT, this is still by far the best value among pre built computers. HP and Dell computers equipped with a 3080 cost more and have worse GPU coolers, motherboards, etc. rtx 3080 equipped computers from boutique brands cost a lot more.

As all other reviews state…it runs VERY hot. I replaced CPU cooler with a Noctua NH-U9S as it’s small enough to fit in the case, as well as Arctic MX-4 thermal past and cpu went from 100-104 C under load, to 45-50 C under load. I also bought spare fans for the case and fit a few intake in the front of the case which was not easy, but these two things helped cool this machine off a lot. Still a good deal In this technology climate.

Took a chance on this one considering the other reviews... Seems like they updated the CPU cooler they were using which is a good start, but still has some temp issues. However for the price you get a new 11th gen i7 and a great asus 3080. Everything else is good name brand parts, easy to upgrade etc... Would highly recommend while the price is around $1,999.

This PC has fantastic parts for the price. Currently the TUF 3080 is going for $1800 or so. However, the cooling is horrible. Upon getting the PC it was crashing on me every 10-15 minutes. This is due to overheating and not due to bad components. This PC is so cheap because it has horrible build quality and the one cpu fan and one exhaust fan causes it to overheat. You must modify the PC to get it to work correctly preferably a new case and cpu cooler. Or modify the original case. If you PC is crashing you need to buy a better cooling solution or return it if you don’t want to invest extra money.

Lack of Quality Control at ASUS

Bought this prebuilt expecting nothing. As most of the reviews say, it is extremely loud. My experience went like this: I turned the computer on, it sounded like a jet engine, the fans were extremely loud, I went to download Steam, and the computer's fans sped up considerably, then the pc shut off. Tried it again, but this time, just tried to download Google chrome, and the pc shut off again. The temperature was normal but I still adjusted the fan curves, turned off RGB and basically followed every piece of advice in the reviews (except for hardware changes), and the computer does the same thing. I contacted ASUS support, and was recommended to just return the machine, as it was likely to be a hardware issue. Seeing positive reviews on here makes me understand that there is a quality control problem at ASUS, as some prebuilts seem to work fine, while others, like mine, were basically DOA.

First arrived DOA. Geek Squad reordered and got a new one in that worked. This is basically only good for parts. Case is too small to upgrade much and only tiny AIO's will fit. Motherboard Bios is locked. Cpu cooler is super cheap and useless. Turned the computer on to test and it hit 100c within like 10 minutes. Only worth it while GPU prices are so high and availability is scarce.

I love this pc. Looks really cool and is pretty compact. I imagine heat would be a huge issue for some and people go through great lengths to modify the case but all i did was remove both side panels. Core is ice cold though memory temps get above 90 (92-94). Overall would definitely recommend this pc and just remove one or both side panels. Dust is not much of an issue, just use compressed air from time to time.
