Awesome 3080 but can't do anything due to CPU heat

Without installing any software or games this is right out of the box after basic windows setup, this CPU is cranking at 100 degrees and jet engine fans keep kicking in. On a reboot it gave an error of overheating and would not even boot! Amazing 3080 and can't even do anything with it so far. This absolutely requires some liquid cooling so would love to hear some recommendations on which liquid cooling for cpu can go on this. Where to check for this?

Runs very hot

Cannot add cooling without voiding warranty. I just took the GPU and used it in my existing Ryzen 3600 setup. It is still worth it because of the RTX3080 GPU which is amazing for 4k Gaming

It's unfortunate to hear that your unit gets extremely hot. This is absolutely not the kind of experience we want any of our customers to have. Please attempt these steps:
Right-click over the Windows desktop and select "NVIDIA Control Panel" -> from the NVIDIA Control Panel, select the "Manage 3D settings" from the left column -> click on the Power management mode drop-down box and select "Prefer Maximum Performance".
Open the System section and scroll down on the Display tab, and click ‘Graphics settings’ at the bottom and enable hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling. Once you’ve enabled the setting, restart your PC.

Gaming for a couple of hours with Metro 2033 caused no heating or noisy fan issues. The CPU fan on my PC is much better than the one in the pictures on the Best Buy site. The User Benchmark site rates this at 220, 110, 220, or "UFO" across the board. This is right out of the box. Very impressed. Asus ROG all the way.

Cool stuff inside, terrible case, terrible cooling. Cpu hit 100c constantly in games, need a cooler 3x the size of the one they gave me in this model. I7-11000kf and rtx 3080

It's unfortunate to hear that the unit gets hot. This is not the kind of experience we want any of our customers to have. The cooling system is adequate to dissipate heat efficiently while the computer is under heavy load. It is normal for the desktop, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially during gaming, WINDOWS Update, and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient airflow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource-hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down.

They cut every corner they could to make the computer a decent price, and by doing that they MADE it run at 100c. Mine run at 100c Everyone's is running at 100c so it was 100% done on purpose! They could have sold it at the same price, and just put a slightly better cooler on the cpu, and everything would would be "fine", but they close to screw over the customer, and go straight profit! Also the Asus Armory program is straight malware uninstall it right away!

If you are buying this for the GPU make sure you have a small #0 to #1 screwdriver at about 3" in length in order to get it out (grating stops you from reaching the screws), Asus has it mounted to protect it during shipping I guess and I had to go to ace hardware to get the right size screwdriver to take it out without ripping apart the case. Keyboard and Mouse is NOT what you get, you get really cheapo mouse and keyboard, not a deal breaker but kind of annoying and the image should be taken down.

Great price during the time of purchase when GPU prices were insane. Overall still decent value for Q1 2022. Heat is a huge issue, as case has poor airflow. Look up modifications necessary to resolving this issue. GPU was a pain to remove, make sure all bracket screws are taken out. The GPU clip required tremendous force to remove the GPU from the motherboard. (To the point of nearly breaking)
