We're sorry to hear about the unfortunate experience you had with this model. The noise that is emitting from the computer is known as coil whine. When the electrical current is increased to a certain point, the magnetic field around the coil can cause it to vibrate, which produces the whiny sound. After a short amount of time the noise should go away as the components regulates.

I've been using this daily for weeks have no complaints! I read the other reviews before purchasing and ended up getting a new case and an AIO cooler. I would recommend this PC as well as upgrading these parts. I feel the value for this PC is really good as well considering how much graphics cards alone go for right now.

While this is a good price for a 3080 build (in fact, on eBay, the GPU this comes with -- the ASUS TUF Gaming 3080 -- goes for more than $2,000), the build is totally unworkable. The temperatures are way too high and the desktop turns off suddenly to protect itself from overheat while gaming or doing any CPU-intensive tasks. ASUS has their head buried in the sand and posts the same reply to every review that says the same thing -- that there's nothing wrong, that the desktop having extremely high temperatures and shutting off randomly is normal, that we should contact technical support, etc. -- but technical support does nothing and it's clear the problem is insufficient cooling and poor airflow. Avoid unless you're willing to buy/install additional fans yourself and/or replace the case. Asus should be ashamed for having had knowledge of this issue for months and doing nothing to solve the airflow/temperature problem.

Firefox killed my machine (Not really). Dead GPU

I ignored the build quality issues and lack of proper cooling (on almost every review). Plug it in and runs for roughly 15 minutes. I download Firefox, as is tradition, then smoke comes from my gpu and the computer shuts off. Could be bad luck so if you are looking for something and are desperate get this. At least the Bestbuy customer service on the return was painless. Important warranty note. I see a few reviews mention modifying the system like adding fans and a new cpu voids the warranty. That is complete crap IMO. This machine need at least two more fans and a new cpu cooler according to most of the reviews and the temps I have seen. Warranty info below and link to it. Original Warranty Information Exclusions from this limited Warranty Service: (a) The Product has been tampered with, repaired and/or modified by non-authorized personnel; (c) The warranty seals have been broken or altered; On May 8, 2018, ASUS Updated the terms of its product warranties as follows: Exclusions from this limited Warranty Service: (a) Damage caused to this Product(s) by you or any non-authorized third party. The design, though, not at all. I read the reviews and was aware of the lack of fans, weak CPU cooler, and overheating issues. Adding fans & better cooler would not have resolved much, tho... The CPU instantly jumped to 100 degrees the moment I tried to render even a tiny 3D image in Daz Studio, and it stayed at 100 degrees! So I researched the CPU. Terrible reviews! Find the 'Toms Hardware' analyses and see for yourself. Dumb idea using a CPU that's notorious for overheating in a build that already lacks any sort of proper heating. I returned the machine because I need to be able to render images that take longer than 20 seconds to render! How long would that machine have lasted under these conditions? Sorry ASUS, but using that CPU was stupid!

It is normal for the desktop, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially during gaming, WINDOWS Update, and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient airflow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource-hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down. The cooling system is efficient in dissipating heat. It is normal for the desktop PC to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially during gaming, WINDOWS Update and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. Took everything out and put it into a new case and also bought a new aio cooler for the cpu. It runs great.

Maybe I got lucky. Tried multiple games on Xbox pass and everything ran smooth. Had to put a fan outside when mining cause the vram can get hot. Overall ran smoother and faster than the $2300 msi prebuilt. Maybe cause the m2 storage is faster even tho it’s 500 instead of 1T. Buy it and pray it’s a good one. Cheers.

It will either overheat and shut down or throttle performance way down to stay on. To actually use this computer a CPU cooler is a minimum. The cast is not standard so fans, etc will not work if you try to replace them. I'd stay away from this one we have had nothing but issues.
