We're sorry to hear about the issues you're having with the fan on this model. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient airflow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource-hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down.

Runs waaaay too hot. Stock CPU cooler is a joke.

Took it to Bestbuy and they re-applied the thermal paste but that didn't help.

Good value but poor cooling

Just like the other reviewers said- very poor cooling. A 3dMark Stress Test put the CPU temp at greater than 100 C. Unfortunately Asus support was not helpful and deferred to Best Buy who advised that I return to store. Save yourself the hassle of a DIY that could void the warranty and spend a little extra for adequate cooling.

Top components - loving the RTX 3080 GPU!

The cooling was loud enough to distract from my enjoyment of the system, prompting me to reassemble most of the components into another system case. Now itʻs quiet and a joy to use.

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got it on sale for $500 off, case has one fan only which is very noisy, cpu fan is small and noisy too, replace that with be-quite fan for 9$, replace CPU fan with Vetroo V5 for 35$, and 3 extra 120 mm PWM fan $30 so total 80$. Plus spent 4 hours. Replacing case is not bad idea.

Heat is a problem. I had to remove the side cover and run the computer open to keep the heat down. Others have had to replace the CPU cooler. The fans are real loud.

3080 died after 8 months of use

At the time of purchase this was the only in-stock option available to get a hold of a 3080. The stock case ran very hot so I moved everything into a larger case with better airflow and upgraded the CPU cooler to a Noctua NH-D15. Everything was running smoothly until a couple days ago the GPU fans ramped up to full speed and my monitor went blank. I replaced the 3080 with my old 1070ti and the system boots just fine. However, Asus refuses to service under warranty unless I put everything back in the original case and send it to them. This does not make sense since the video card is the only faulty component and I don't want to lose my entire computer for a couple of weeks. I will never again order a prebuilt desktop from ASUS.

I was finally able to get my RTX 3080 and thankful they actually put together a decent selection of components. Upgrade the cooling setup and modify the case. Otherwise 5/5!

Returned after consistant crashes and bios showing CPU overheating errors after blue screens of death. Asus, poor thinking on your park- Get smart. Do not spend money moding this case just get a better PC. For 200-300 more instead of buying fans, AIOs and cases you can get a much better PC. Don't buy and mod this PC because of Asus's poor engineering. Asus will refuse to help you and refers you to best buy. You can't even find this model and details on their website. When you register this PC and try to get support, Asus recognizes your serial number as a BestBuy partner serial number and they will refuse to help you and refer you to geek squad. So all you can do is return the computer and leave negative feedback.

CPU heating issues right out of the box

I rebooted and successfully setup windows only to have a system shutdown due to CPU temperature. Case fan is unbelievable loud. Great performance in gaming.

Not something I can stomach

It's under the holiday return period so it's about time I regain some self-respect and return it.
