Posted .Dear JodyB,
We do understand your concern about the fan noise.
It is normal just like any other brand with the same hardware configuration, for the fan to spin at full-throttle and generates noise louder than normal while the PC is under heavy load like gaming, especially during the initial WINDOWS setup and WINDOWS Update installation. Also, the fan noise will be louder while antivirus software or malware are running continuously in the background. Please ensure the system was not compromised by viruses or malware by doing a full system scan using an internet security software or application. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle and noise will be louder than normal. It does decreases or normalizes once utilization goes down.
Should you need further assistance with the product, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than happy to help. Or, you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent at: http://bit.ly/AsusLiveChat.

We're sorry to hear about the unfortunate experience you're having with thhe cooling on this model. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient airflow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource-hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down. Posted .Dear Nator,
We do understand your concern about the fan noise.
It is normal just like any other brand with the same hardware configuration, for the fan to spin at full-throttle and generates noise louder than normal during POST(Power On Self Test) when the PC was powered on. Also, while the Desktop PC is under heavy load like gaming, especially during the initial WINDOWS setup and WINDOWS Update installation. If the system will not bootup or power on, usually, you will do the following to resolve the issue. Please verify if the unit is connected to a working monitor using known good video cable and the correct input source from the monitor was selected correctly.

Overall a pretty good prebuilt just runs hot!

Good pre-built with a bit of modification.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.***Purchased for $1599.99*** **Upgrading from a GTX 970** If you're someone like me who doesn't want to deal with building a computer from scratch, this is a pretty good pre-built option. That said, I did open the case up and swap the stock CPU cooler with a Vetroo V5, and added three more generic 120mm fans for increased air intake after reading about the heat concerns in other reviews. This cost me about $50 and an hour of my time. I can play cyberpunk2077 at ultra settings for hours, and the CPU temp never exceeds 85C. My only other recommendation is swapping the HDD for a 2.5in SSD. You can get a plastic HDD to SDD mounting adapter for like $5, and screw it into the lower compartment where the HDD is kept. Of course you can always just buy an additional NVMe M.2 memory card and connect it to the open slot on the motherboard. I expect I'll be able to play the newest games at 1080p/60FPS for at least the next 5-7 years. If you've got a nice monitor that supports 1440p/144hz+ then you'll be golden for many years as well.

Great computer in a bad case......
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought an open box in excellent condition. It arrive with only 8GB of RAM. I contacted Best buy and they replaced my unit with a brand new computer. I removed all the components and installed them in a MSI MAG FORCE 100 case, along with an cooler master AIO, an additional 16GB of RAM. I replaced the 500GB M.2 with a 1TB and reinstalled the original m.2 in the #2 slot. Clean installed windows. This machine is a cool running beast. Handles DCS WORLD in 1440 at max settings with ReShade and Discord running and still pushes WELL OVER 110 FPS at 65c. Great components.....case not so good! I spent about $200 dollars on upgrades (used the 1tb M.2 from my previous computer). Purchase price was $1815 plus $200 in upgrades....NOT TOO BAD! BTW I got a FHR RTX3080 Tuf Gaming graphics card.

Great PC!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the First pre-built PC i have purchased. I have previously built my own PCs from individual components (32+ years). I really like this PC. Except for the loud (Start-up / very occasional) fan ramp up. most of the time the fan is VERY quiet. I would defiantly recommend this PC. I love the performance!

Read before buying!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never leave reviews but I had to for this one. It's honestly embarrassing that best buy would even put this PC on the shelf. The cooling system is absolutely atrocious. And the case is SO SMALL AND TIGHT that even if you wanted to upgrade the fan it won't fit. Launched warzone and all 6 cores we're at a *constant* 100°C and the computer sounded like a jet engine that was about to blow up. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this. You'll thank me later I promise.
