Customers are saying
Customers enjoy the excellent performance and powerful components of the ROG Gaming Desktop, particularly praising the GPU and RAM. Many appreciate the reasonable price point, but some users mention that the cooling system could be improved and that the included keyboard and mouse are basic. The power supply's capacity is also a concern for some buyers. While the case's design is noted, some find it difficult to upgrade.

Gets dusty
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great machine. No complaints. Not sure if it’s worth the price but I have not had issues with it since I bought it. Just make sure you keep a dust cover on it, it collects dust easily.

Asus Desktop
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this cause the graphics card is really good. I got it recommended by geek squad previous employee. And a group of techs friends too. I think it’s a worth investment and of course it was on sale than the normal price. But if it’s on sale definitely recommend.

Just DO IT
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this the day my old PC died. I got it faster than expected, and more quiet than my work laptop. I have not done any GPU testing but I'm sure it's up to the task on just about any game thrown at it. Everything is working perfectly

Good foundation with bad CPU thermals
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is a lot to like about this PC, and a few things I find disappointing or even wholly confusing about it. If you have done any research about Asus prebuilt gaming PC’s in the last two years, you’ll find an abundance of complaints about CPU cooling. I figured it was likely that they may have listened to the feedback and addressed that with this new for 2022 lineup. Unfortunately, the complaints fell on deaf ears and cooling, or the lack thereof is my biggest frustration with this PC as well. It has a simple small air cooler that cannot cope with the temperatures the 12th gen i7 can produce, and simple actions like installing app updates quickly produce temps in excess of 95 degrees C which causes it to slow down having reached the thermal limits of the processor. I was very surprised with how quickly it heats up and gets throttled back to avoid overheating, and genuinely insignificant processes can get those temps out of control. Thankfully, the 3060 can handle itself well and does not have any thermal issues to speak of, generally keeping itself under 60 degrees C even running the latest games. Speaking of gaming, that is the primary concern for this computer, and it is no slouch. I like to play a lot of the latest games on Game Pass Ultimate such as Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5 for example and do so on a 1440P 100hz ultrawide monitor. Both games run ultra settings without a hitch, and I see 50-70FPS each on my monitor. Mass Effect Legendary edition runs even better being a remaster of older games and easily puts 100FPS onto my ultrawide screen. I prefer to game with a controller, and that is where a secondary issue came up for me. Bluetooth on this computer is quite poor. My mouse and keyboard that I have used on my other computer for a long time don’t work right without severe lag, as does my controller. Once I gave up on it and used my USB adapter for the Logitech mouse and keyboard the issues went away for them, and plugging in my controller did the same thing, resolving all the lag issues. In other words, maybe mine has a problem with its Bluetooth, but it would probably be best to avoid using Bluetooth on this computer. I suppose most gamers know that is not the best way to be anyways, but it is a concern regardless. I wish it had more SSD space even if it meant not including the 1TB HDD. Gaming on a very slow loading hard drive is hard to go back to after spending time with an SSD as I have in the past couple years. So, I don’t know what to use the HDD for since I don’t intend to install games on it. 16GB of DDR4-3200 ram is sufficient for even the most demanding titles, as is the 12GB of GDDR6 on the RTX 3060. It does have a second m.2 slot on the motherboard hiding under the GPU, so I will likely add an additional SSD to help mitigate the lack of high-speed storage space. It also has two open DDR4 slots for additional ram if that ever became necessary. I think the specs on this machine are more than adequate for 1440P gaming, and that’s what I am using it for. If you are hoping for 4K you will likely be disappointed. Lots of RGB lighting in the case for the enthusiasts out there, and thankfully enough room in this case partly because of the small 3060 for a 240mm AIO CPU cooler to be added which is what I will be doing as soon as possible. Without a doubt, if you buy this you will need to plan on setting aside additional funds for a better CPU cooler as what is included is woefully inadequate, and frankly abysmal not to mention very loud. It does include the most basic keyboard and mouse I’ve seen in years just to get you started, but you will need to invest in better equipment for gaming per personal preferences. This rig is a sold foundation, and has good hardware for the cost, but desperately needs an upgrade or two to get it running totally smoothly. Get an AIO cooler for the CPU, maybe more SSD if you want to install more than a couple games and avoid hard drive loading times, don’t plan on using Bluetooth for anything important and it will be an awesome machine. Right out of the box its just not quite there.
