Blazing fast laptop, and great aesthetic, horrid design thermally though. It has not only plenty of power, but to much of it. Game settings have to be turned down and not on 2560x1600 @240FPS. Consistently hitting mid 90C at idle.

It's pretty meh for the price. The quality of the build is fairly low given the competitors. Specs are decent, but the overall performance is just okay. Maybe I'm use to AMD processors but the i9 just feels like it lags constantly - cant keep up with simple code compiling and running a game is no where close to where it should be. Gaming could be a GPU problem too.

Probably the best laptop I’ve ever used somehow they were able to fit all of this tech into this laptop and the cooling is actually really good. I have not had issues with overheating while the laptop is on a cooling pad while doing heavy gameplay. I highly highly recommend this laptop

My adult son & me are in love with this laptop. It excels above my expectations. Gaming experience on a whole new level. Would definitely recommend!

Well, I haven’t received my laptop yet as it has gone missing via FedEx but fro meat I’ve read it will be a killer desktop replacement when it arrives.

Excellent Laptop, only disappointment was this version will not upgrade past 32GB. The processor can support 192 according to the documentation. If you want more RAM then you will need the configuration which contains the 4090 graphics card

The Asus ROG Strix is a beast of a gaming laptop. The model I am using is rocking Intel's fastest mobile processor, the 14th gen, core I9-14900HX, along with the Nvidia RTX4080 mobile GPU. Along with this impressive hardware, this unit also sports 32 gig of DDR5-5600 memory and 2 terebytes of SSD storage. The eithteen inch ROG Nebula display is QHD 240Hz/3ms, 100% DCI-P3, Pantone Validation, among other premium features on the Strix G18. I have installed a plethora of games. Some of my older favorites such as Call of Duty, Half life 2 and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege and Battlefield 3, along with World of Warships and Battlefield 2042 can all be run at high to extreme settings witout any noticeable stuttering or lag. On most all of these games, I am seeing average frame rates over 60 FPS and most are well over 100 FPS. I am not sure there are many games availble that this rig can't run on at least medium settings or better with more than acceptable frame rates. The RTX 4080 GPU is the top graphics card you can get in the ROG Strix G18. If you think you just have to have the 4090, Asus does have the ROG Strix Scar that has the RTX4090 along with a slightly better display, but for my money, the G18 is the best bang for the buck and will be able to play about anyones favorite games for a long time. But, even as good as this computer is, it isn't perfect. The keyboard is nice, the keys have great feel, but the layout is a little odd. As I type this review, I find the shift key and arrow keys on the right side seem a little wierd. I am sure I will get accustomed to them, but they are different in how they are positioned. All of the USB and power connections are on the sides. There are no plugs in the back. I prefer to not have cables running out of the sides, but there are no plugs on the back of the G18. The reason is clear. The ROG Strix containse 3 fans that do a great job keeping this beast cool, and it needs the space in the rear to make the cooling more efficient. Just something else I need to come to grips with. The chasis is plastic, but it feels really good and so far, has not had any issues with feeling too warm. The mouspad feels great and is large and placed in a good location ahead of the keys. My unit has very little light bleed on the edges of the display, making the blacks really dark. Light bleed can sometimes be an issue on some displays. Overall, I don't know of a better performance to dollar value than the Asus ROG Strix G18 with the RTX4080 and 32 Gig of DDR5 memory. I have enjoyed every minute of my time with this gaming oriented laptop. I can't say that about many others I have tried.

I have came from a desktop 3070 ti and an i7-9700k and knew i needed a new CPU because it was holding back my performance when gaming. I purchased this and gave desktop to a family member and i am not disappointed as this laptop is very powerful for what it has in it.

This laptop is worth every penny. I love it. Gaming on it is wonderful and recording videos is great. No overheating issues whatsoever. Only thing is battery life isn't great but that is to be expected with a gaming laptop

What an exceptional laptop. No cons besides overheating due to it being a laptop. So dont play heavy games unless you have a laptop cooler.

Pros: Wanted a large laptop for home use. The computer is quiet and stays cool. The screen is great. Cons: It does not have a memory card slot. My old MSI gaming controls were more intuitive.

Works amazing! Temps are cool. Screen is fantastic... love the 18" screen! Got a nice price on open box. I've done so many reviews and never got anything so not sure why I keep filling these out for free labor.
