Customers are saying

Customers regard the ROG Strix 18" QHD 240Hz Gaming Laptop as a high-performance machine, particularly praising its powerful processing capabilities, stunning visuals, and smooth refresh rate. The large screen size is also a major plus for many, though some users note the significant weight and relatively short battery life as drawbacks. Positive feedback frequently highlights the impressive frame rates achieved in various games. However, the substantial size and weight may be a consideration for those who frequently transport their laptop.

BEAST Of a laptop! I previously owned an Eluktronics Max-15 with 64gb ram, 2 2tb SSDs (one of which I put in this new laptop) i7 11800H and RTX 3080, and it held up pretty well in most games but I was noticing more and more it couldn't run most newer games at the native 1440p native resolution on higher graphics while maintaining 60+fps. THIS laptop does for every game I've tested so far effortlessly! And Asus's software is really helpful too, in my opinion, especially for getting things updated easily. Better speakers, screen, and even keyboard in my opinion, greatly satisfied with this purchase!

Had this Laptop from some time now, bought it cause my job is traveling all around the US and I wanted something as powerful as my gaming tower back home. This laptop has not dissapointed me soo far. It has kept fast and responsive, high tier video games are all playable with no issues. The only concern is that once randomly it shutted down and never knew why. Another thing I notice is that if I play long periods of time games that are heavy on graphics it can get very hot. May I say that I havent touched the setting of the laptop, been using it as it came (havent set anything in terma of gaming performance) if it ever happens again Ill go amd see if I can tweek some stuff for better performance. This laptop was very expensive but very much worth the trouble of buying it for the purpose that I wanted and needed.

This is a very good laptop and seems to be built of a good quality material too. You get a high configuration/performance computer for a reasonable price. It is a bit heavy due to its size (understandably). The battery life is not as long, however.

After my old 1070 laptop finally started showing signs of going, I chose this as the replacement. It was an Asus, so this made sense. The refresh rate is what floored me the most! Going from 60 in 1080p to 240 in 2K was quite the leap. Every game I've played so far easily maintains and clears 60fps in maxed settings 2K. I can't recommend this laptop enough for people who want what I would consider desktop level quality!

I came from the console side of things. When i saw that my rog ally was basically performing in the level of a ps5, i decided to grab a gaming laptop. This laptop performs well beyond my expectations. I never go below high settings and games always run in the 60 fps section, which works for me. The huge screen makes it easy and comfy to play anywhere. Im a big fan of ASUS, and for the price, I believe I recieved one of the best laptops of 2024.

Owned this laptop for about a year already and it's been pretty good despite the limitations of most laptops compared to desktops. The RGB lights are a bit much for me so I keep them low with a light purple shade. I primarily use this laptop for 3D modeling with blender and I haven't have any issues in terms of performance. I did get coil whine from the GPU or motherboard though whenever the mouse moves. It's only noticeable if you listen closely, but when you're gaming you won't hear it. I will say that I'm glad they did a tri fan instead of 2. It handles cooling quite well because of these. It can get warm in long term use or using max graphic settings. Overall It's nice.

Great brand of high performance laptops. I've never had an issue with any Asus ROG Strix products. This i9 processor and 32GB RAM out the box has handled everything I threw at it so far. The RTS 4080 12GB video card is absolutely top tier for editing and high end gaming. Thankfully, Asus has a second NVME M.2 SSD slot. Even though it comes with 2TB of hard drive space, I bumped it up to 6 TB. Asus knows what they're doing. Glad I was able to pick this up at Best Buy.

Backstory: I've been a Macbook Pro user for over a decade. In fact, I'm on my 3rd one that has an M2 Max. Love the machines, but there are some areas where Apple keeps missing the bar - gaming and development in areas that require high end GPUs. I finally decided to dive into the world of Windows. Took me about 6 months of reading countless reviews and watching Youtube to figure out what would be the best laptop for the buck, and settled on this beast. Long story short, this laptop has FAR exceeded my expectations! I am genuinely impressed! I purchased this to do a combination of machine learning and AI development work in Python, and Unity VR development. (And of course, high-end gaming in VR when I have the time.) Everything I have thrown at this thing has been astounding. My VR development pipeline is SO much better than on the Mac. VR games look absolutely amazing with AirLink (though I am using the VR AIr Bridge from DLink, as I found the mobile hotspot on the machine didn't give me enough bandwidth from my tests.) Half-Life: Alyx at max settings? Brilliant. Truly a masterpiece of a game. Cyberpunk 2077? Forza Horizon 5? I have the settings maxed out, and all are performing very well. I've had the machine for a few weeks now, and have had no problems. The one thing that concerned me with getting a high end GPU in a laptop was going to be the temperature control. But the airflow in this beast is incredible. When pushing the GPU, I have rarely seen temps climb above 80, usually hovering in the 70s on even intense GPU tasks. The BIOS lets you undervolt the GPU a bit, and ASUS's Armoury Crate app lets you tweak performance and fan settings of the CPU and GPU. After doing some minor tweaking, I was able to get over 19000 on the Time Spy DX12 benchmark in 3D Mark! Beast, indeed! The screen is bright and clear. Nice colors and contrast. I really can't comment on battery life too much. I won't do any of my work or gaming without power plugged in. I had it unplugged for a bit here and there when I was just browsing and dealing with e-mail, and it dropped maybe 10% in that time. I also have the battery set to top off the charge around 80% to maximize the life of the battery. Seems like the battery would be good for several hours at least, as long as you aren't doing anything intense. This is really a good machine. Well done, ASUS. Seriously, well done. This is the first time in nearly 15 years where I am contemplating moving my life entirely back to Windows, all because of this little beast. I can't recommend enough.

This model surpassed my expectations. It is a true workhorse and gaming machine with no issues running games at max settings. It is NOT Mini LED; you must purchase the Strix Scar version. The display on this works just fine and gets plenty bright. Max battery life is 1-2 hours, depending on how you use it in correspondence with the brightness level. The keyboard is excellent, but I wish they had removed the number pad, centered the keyboard, and added more speakers on the top. That would've created the perfect laptop for me. Compared to my old Asus Zephyrus M16, the heat dissipates much more efficiently thanks to a third fan blowing the heat out of the sides and back of the laptop. Unless you want an OLED, Mini LED, or an RTX 4090 laptop, this model has the best price/performance. Don't sleep on this. Get an open box in excellent condition to save even more money.

I recently purchased the Asus-rig Stix 18”it has exceeded all my expectations. Right out of the box, the setup was incredibly straightforward, thanks to its intuitive user interface and helpful setup guide. The performance is exceptional, with a speedy processor and ample RAM that handles multitasking with ease. Whether I'm running demanding software or multiple applications simultaneously, the Asus-rob remains responsive and smooth. The high-resolution display offers vibrant colors and sharp details, making it a pleasure to use for both work and entertainment. Additionally, the build quality is impressive. The sleek design and durable materials give it a premium feel, and it’s clear that attention was paid to both aesthetics and functionality. The keyboard is comfortable, and the trackpad is precise, which enhances the overall user experience. Battery life has also been a strong point, lasting well beyond a typical workday on a single charge. This is especially convenient for those who need to work on the go. Overall, the Asus-rog offers excellent value for its price, combining performance, design, and reliability. I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a dependable and efficient computer.

I had already wrote an entire review, just to have it deleted on my phone... I have the 4080, 14th gen core, 32gb ram, and 2tb version. I bought this during cyber monday and saved about 600 dollars roughly, on its price. I watched a lot of videos after i bought this, and even before about what I should buy and this was on every list in 2023, felt like it fell off in 2024 which i dont understand, maybe that was just because those versions didnt have 2tb, 32gb ram etc.. It's a beast, and I wouldnt change my purchase. So to talk about this coil whine that used to (apparently) be a thing. I have literally zero. I just have a fan noise, as expected with a laptop. I figure it was an early release models of this laptop back when they first released. Which doesnt sound odd at all to me. I cant really comment on how this performs without a cord plugged in, i didnt buy it to run around towns or places with. Just to move around my house, versus being locked to one room and space. I used to love that freedom, and I do again. I gave my pc the boot and it just idles. When it comes to how it runs, it runs like a pro. I have always had 120+ fps on all games I have played (helldivers 2, indiana jones lost circle, diablo 4, etc etc.) No need to go full indepth with games, it just hasnt had a single issue. Yes it is a laptop, it will run hot... that is what happens with laptops. I recommend either a llano or gets coolingpads (i havent used gets, just llano but they're kinda similar). They arent cheap but they are worth every penny, especially if you want your laptop to last long. As all of its exhaust is on the back and rear sides, it is literally perfect for this laptop either cooler (id assume but llano pref to me). Lot of intake on the bottom and through the keyboard there is another vent (seriously super helpful). I dont really run hot with it at all, slightly warm around the edge of the screeen area i guess usually around 75c gpu. cpu is lower. I looked at a ton of laptops for about 3-4 months before black friday and was initially gonna get a cheaper one around 1200 but, decided it wasnt even worth my time. This one will last way longer, and it is literally as i said this is a champ. Now the screen? It's so good for a laptop, im sure others talk about mini oled etc.. this has been by far the most vivid and brightest screen I have used on a laptop so I would not just say let me spend 300-400 more for oled. This does literally the job 10x if you are worried about it. Ontop of that, keyboard is full size I personally love it. It's perfect for my hands tbh. I dont really care for customizing the colors i just leave it red personally. Just me. OH, and i watched people or read people talk about bloatware... no??? I had none. I literally had zero things to uninstall, this install was so clean i had no worries. like 100% I recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a high mid tier laptop, you wont be disappointed. Especially if you want a 18'

Great computer with powerful performance. The computer doesn’t get anywhere as hot as my previous gaming laptop from MSI. I am not a fan of the RBG light bar at the bottom of the laptop though, it’s honestly annoying. Battery life is not where I’d like it to be. It last maybe an hour even playing the most basic low pixel games and set to minimum power output in Nvidia settings, but that’s to be expected with how powerful it is.

I wasnt sure what to expect buying this laptop. I haven't had a gaming PC in over 15yrs. First its big. I travel a lot for work and I wish I knew how heavy it was going to be. With that said, this computer is awesome. Runs all of the newest triple A games with ease. The screen is very nice and I also like the keyboard. Overall I would by this computer again but probably a 16" next time to reduce weight.

I use a lot of powerful workstations at work, so I was not expecting to be impressed by the performance of this laptop, but could not be more wrong. This is a very powerful, super fast, beautiful laptop, excellent for gaming and coding. Not too heavy with a large display. The only minor issue is related to the design, when it heats up, the body components below the display get slightly larger above the keyboard and when you close the lid, they touch each other making a scratchy noise. Otherwise, I absolutely love it and recommend it without any reservations.

I’ve had some time to use this laptop, and it has performed very well. The build quality seems solid, and the audio quality during gaming is surprisingly crisp and loud. During initial setup, there was some sluggishness with the system.after fully updating everything, it still took a few days of use for the system to actually “settle in” and perform as intended. Since then, I have had zero issues. Gaming performance is solid. The specs are fantastic for the price I paid. I purchased it on sale, and I’m glad I did. If you’re looking for a huge screen and to play the latest games, this is the one for you. I installed a 2TB SSD to store my games, and I do not install any to the OS SSD. Also, battery life when mobile is great on silent mode, it lasts for 3-4 hours. Buy it. You won’t be disappointed.
