Customers are saying
Customers regard the ROG Strix 18" QHD 240Hz Gaming Laptop as a high-performance machine, particularly praising its powerful processing capabilities, stunning visuals, and smooth refresh rate. The large screen size is also a major plus for many, though some users note the significant weight and relatively short battery life as drawbacks. Positive feedback frequently highlights the impressive frame rates achieved in various games. However, the substantial size and weight may be a consideration for those who frequently transport their laptop.

Very Good desktop replacement
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very good laptop and seems to be built of a good quality material too. You get a high configuration/performance computer for a reasonable price. It is a bit heavy due to its size (understandably). The battery life is not as long, however.

Great lapto
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is worth every penny. I love it. Gaming on it is wonderful and recording videos is great. No overheating issues whatsoever. Only thing is battery life isn't great but that is to be expected with a gaming laptop

Great laptop!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is super fast. Boots up very quickly, screen is super high definition and handles any game I throw at it. I’m super happy with this purchase and for a great price. Similar laptops are way more expensive. Highly recommend and would buy again.

Best gaming laptop for the money
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Asus ROG Striz is a solid gaming laptop with excellent performance and build quality. However, the timing of my purchase couldn't have been worse, as NVIDIA's announcement of their next-gen GPUs made me realize that I was buying into soon-to-be outdated technology. If you're in the market for a gaming laptop, I'd recommend waiting for the new models with the latest GPUs to hit the shelves. Otherwise, you might find yourself in the same position I was in—returning a great laptop simply because better options are just around the corner.

Excellent mobile desktop solution
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Solid, large laptop, that really doubles as a reasonably mobile desktop type solution. More than powerful enough to work through any productivity and or entertainment needs. Reasonably portable for a large scale laptop. I got mine for several hundred dollars off because it was a return. Very much worth it for me. Honestly, the battery life isn’t bad for a large laptop, though I would never consider it to be excellent. I really think with a laptop with this kind of GPU fire power you should always be anticipating that it’s plugged in. And if you don’t need a GPU of this caliber, I’d personally just get a MacBook Air or Pro. Super long battery life there.

Great buy, especially when on sale
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.BEAST Of a laptop! I previously owned an Eluktronics Max-15 with 64gb ram, 2 2tb SSDs (one of which I put in this new laptop) i7 11800H and RTX 3080, and it held up pretty well in most games but I was noticing more and more it couldn't run most newer games at the native 1440p native resolution on higher graphics while maintaining 60+fps. THIS laptop does for every game I've tested so far effortlessly! And Asus's software is really helpful too, in my opinion, especially for getting things updated easily. Better speakers, screen, and even keyboard in my opinion, greatly satisfied with this purchase!

Everything you could ask for
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything you could ask for in a laptop. It’s even better than my built desktop. The graphics are phenomenal. The speed, the quiet fans, it looks amazing and the size is great too. I can’t get past how they packed so much into a small machine. The 2tb SSD is great, the 32gb ram and the 4080 with 12gb vram is more than enough. I’m running every game on the highest settings with no hiccups what so ever.

Asus ROG Strix RTX 4080 DELIVERS!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from a Razer 17" 240Hz 1440p RTX 3080Ti Intel i7, I can easily say my Asus ROG 18" QHD 240Hz Intel i9 RTX 4080 is hands down of much better "laptop" gaming experience. Hardware for hardware, Razer 2022 RTX 3080Ti can perform neck and neck with the RTX 4080 is most categories. Both GPU can easily run all AAA games on max setting without issue. It's the Asus build quality, Asus ROG armory crate, Asus BIOS, Asus power/cooling/airflow design, and monitoring suite of integrated apps make the Asus ROG STRIX an outperformer in comparison to the almost doubled over priced Razer RTX lineup. Razer thermals and cooling were a non-stop problem. Asus ROG STRIX absolutely killed it with the thermals & airflow on this device. Have no issues at all with the device. Pros: ------- > 18" 240Hz screen for desktop like replacement gaming > Solid build quality (frame, screen hinges, everything just feels sturdy and built with intent) > Thermals - Cooling & airflow are superior from other manufacturers > Excellent Keyboard - Keystrokes and feedback feel like a traditional external keyboard, macros are sensible and full number pad are always a plus > 2.5 Gbps ethernet NIC along with CPU and fast SSD, easily hit real-time Steam downloads peaking at 870 - 900Mbps so problem. > Asus ROG integrated apps (e.g ROG Armory) are much more refined, logical only enhance the experience on top of providing 1000s of customization options > RTX 4080 - No question about it; can run AAA game you through at it on max settings will be able to for the foreseeable 5 years Cons: -------- > Heavy laptop given size and dimensions (comes w/ the territory) > No microSD port > Power cable not extremely long so ensure close to an outlet/cable strip when gaming > Battery life (again...comes with the territory)

Good for on the go dads like me!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I came from the console side of things. When i saw that my rog ally was basically performing in the level of a ps5, i decided to grab a gaming laptop. This laptop performs well beyond my expectations. I never go below high settings and games always run in the 60 fps section, which works for me. The huge screen makes it easy and comfy to play anywhere. Im a big fan of ASUS, and for the price, I believe I recieved one of the best laptops of 2024.

Packed with power but poor battery life
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is packed with all the good things for gaming or photography, including the 18" screen. But those power items come at a price, namely poor battery life which was my reason for returning it. Everything else on it was perfect, especially processing speed and portability.

Insanely powerful device for a great price!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I couldn't find another manufacturer with this hardware configuration at this range. Asus delivered a solid device at a great price point! Apart from the obviously economic body build quality, only caveat is that the battery is not reliable and drains extremely quickly, but I suppose that's to be expected, considering the power hungry cpu and gpu :) Still, I'm loving it! This laptop absolutely maxes out every game I've thrown at it so far! If you're considering a powerful gaming laptop with high specs and slightly less portability, I'd recommend this one!

Fast start up smooth running, worth every cent.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this computer a little over a month, it runs as smooth as silk. Minimum bloat ware, pretty fast set up, and can run pretty much what ever you throw at it and never break a sweat. That's the other thing, it has yet to over heat. Keyboard is a bit odd, but still a great machine.

Feels cool from outside, questionable performance
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop looks and feels cool. When booting up, the logo with a sword waving sound gives me an impression it's like in the game already. The 4080 GPU is supposed to be in the higher end, but I did not get a chance to test it yet. I mainly use it to build a rendering app that requires a lot of GPU activities. But strangely the disk and CPU performance does not seems to be good as I was building ffmpeg, it took longer than I expected, and a task like unzip a 7z file with a lot of small files takes 17 hours to complete...

Has been a good run for my money!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this Laptop from some time now, bought it cause my job is traveling all around the US and I wanted something as powerful as my gaming tower back home. This laptop has not dissapointed me soo far. It has kept fast and responsive, high tier video games are all playable with no issues. The only concern is that once randomly it shutted down and never knew why. Another thing I notice is that if I play long periods of time games that are heavy on graphics it can get very hot. May I say that I havent touched the setting of the laptop, been using it as it came (havent set anything in terma of gaming performance) if it ever happens again Ill go amd see if I can tweek some stuff for better performance. This laptop was very expensive but very much worth the trouble of buying it for the purpose that I wanted and needed.

Powerful, Stays Cool, Highly Recommend!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this almost 2 months ago and it's been absolutely outstanding! Fast and reliable so there's not much else to say. I also got a laptop cooling pad, highly recommend, gotta protect your investment! It keeps the laptop cool and stops the fans from going full throttle.

Absolutely fantastic computer.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Asus laptop does everything my wife needs it to do in her structural engineering design job. It is a very good laptop that runs AutoCad and other engineering software very well. This laptop is built well and we are always happy with Asus laptops! This is our third Asus laptop used for our home.

||Posted . Many plugins open in one project and it runs it all like a champ. If you wanted it for gaming I'm sure it would perform very well for that too.

Super fast functional power-house
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A little bigger than I would have liked, but you've got to keep those hard working CPU and GPUs cool... Quieter than I expected, and FAST... minimal bloatware too. The screen is awesome. I purchased this for photo editing (I do a lot) but will be playing the odd game or two too. The only down-side is no built-in SD card reader, and the webcam is pretty basic (and not Windows Hello compatible).

Great laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Visuals are great. Runs everything super smooth and fast at ultra settings. Massive screen with huge storage space. Battery dies a lil fast so definitely need a charger nearby while gaming. With regular tasks it will last maybe 3-5 hours depending on how much its charged but thats just the trade off for how much power it can produce. Overall great laptop
