If you are looking for an awesome gaming monitor, check out this Asus Rog 27" OLED. So the ASUS ROG Strix 27" 2K OLED is considered to be one of the fastest gaming monitors ever released, boasting a 500Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response time and stunning OLED visuals designed for competitive gaming. Let's check out all the good specs first before we talk about the experience with this monitor. - Display: 27-inch QHD (2560 × 1440) QD-OLED panel. - Refresh Rate: Blazing-fast 500Hz, pushing the limits of esports performance. - Response Time: 0.03ms (GTG) for near-instant pixel transitions. - Brightness & HDR: VESA DisplayHDR™ 500 True Black certification for deep blacks and vivid highlights. - Color Accuracy: 99% DCI-P3 gamut, true 10-bit color, Quantum Dot enhancement. - Sync Tech: Compatible with NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync. - OLED Care Pro: Includes burn-in protection features like a Neo Proximity Sensor that dims or blacks out the screen when you step away. I'd like to mention a few things about its design. For me personally, 27" is a perfect size monitor for gaming and work. It does not take over my desk and its ergonomic stand sits neatly. It offers ways to do height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments for ergonomic positioning as any other monitor as well. I usually don't care about the lighting as it is usually on the back of the monitor, however its integrated ROG Aura Sync RGB lighting adds nice customizable glow effects to match your gaming rig. Another nice feature I never paid attention or knew about is its custom heatsink. It helps with airflow to prevent OLED burn-in and maintain performance which is always a concern of mine with OLED displays. I also like its matte black finish with ROG branding, giving it a premium look on my gaming desk. Simple and not flashy. Let's talk about its performance now. Two words: awesomely amazing! A lot of newer OLED displays have been pushing the refresh rate further and faster, and Asus definitely delivers here. A crazy fast 500Hz makes it one of the fastest monitors available at the moment. Even if your system doesn’t hit 500 FPS, the ultra-low latency ensures smoother gameplay. I played a number of different heavy duty, graphics intensive titles on this monitor and it handled it wonderfully. I have no concerns about about its Motion Clarity, HDR, Color and Contrast accuracy. This has been definitely a dream monitor for me, almost an overkill as I am a casual gamer, however I know I have the best one for my needs and it will perform well for many years to come.

The newest ASUS ROG Strix 27-inch OLED gaming monitor is one of those displays that immediately feels purpose-built for serious competitive play, as you would expect, boasting a 500hz refresh rate. This is a screen designed for players who value speed and immersion above all else, and at its best, it delivers both in a way that feels genuinely next-generation. Image quality is a major highlight here. The OLED panel produces true blacks with effectively infinite contrast, giving dark scenes exceptional depth while keeping bright highlights clean and punchy. HDR performance is surprisingly strong for an OLED monitor in this size class, with real-world brightness that gives games and media noticeable pop without washing out fine detail. Color reproduction is equally impressive, with wide gamut coverage and excellent accuracy out of the box. I can safely use this in reference when editing professional photo work in conjunction with my MacBook Pro’s display without being scared of color inaccuracies. Whatever your use case, colors are rich and vibrant without appearing artificial or oversaturated. It’s a glossy screen which really helps as well. Where this monitor truly separates itself is in motion performance. The combination of 500hz refresh rate and near-instant OLED pixel response results in some of the clearest, smoothest motion you can currently get on any consumer display. Input feels immediate, fast camera pans stay sharp, and fast-paced shooters benefit the most from this level of responsiveness. When paired with a system capable of pushing extremely high frame rates, the experience feels effortless and fluid in a way that lower-refresh displays simply cannot replicate. Adaptive sync support ensures that smoothness stays consistent even when frame rates fluctuate. Build quality also lives up to the premium positioning. The monitor feels solid and well-assembled, with an aggressive but refined design typical of the ROG Strix line. Connectivity is versatile, with both HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort available for modern PCs and consoles. ASUS also includes a full suite of OLED care features designed to reduce long-term burn-in risk, including automatic panel maintenance routines and smart dimming behavior when static content is detected. That said, there are a few practical trade-offs worth acknowledging. Despite its high-end status, this is still a 1440p panel at 27 inches, which means pixel density is notably lower than a comparable 4K display. For gaming, this is rarely an issue, but for productivity, fine text work, or users coming from a 4K screen, the loss of sharpness is noticeable. OLED also brings its usual considerations. Static desktop use over long periods always carries some degree of burn-in risk, even with protective features enabled. Additionally, this monitor does not include built-in speakers, so external audio is required for anyone not using a headset. From a value perspective, this is a specialized investment rather than a general-purpose display. You are paying a premium for cutting-edge motion handling, OLED contrast, and high-end gaming performance, along with accurate colors to boot. If your hardware can take advantage of 500hz refresh rates and your primary use is competitive gaming or visually rich single-player titles, the performance return is absolutely there. If your usage leans more toward productivity, static desktop work, or resolution-driven tasks, the cost becomes harder to justify when compared to high-quality 4K alternatives. Overall, the newest monitor in the ASUS Strix lineup is a stunning example of what modern gaming displays can achieve when speed and visual impact are the top priorities. It delivers elite-level motion clarity, outstanding contrast, and excellent color performance in a package that feels premium throughout. Its 1440p resolution and OLED usage considerations prevent it from being a universal recommendation, but for competitive players and high-FPS enthusiasts, it stands as one of the most impressive gaming monitors currently available.

After not having much prior experience with OLED, and briefly using another model, using this as a daily driver has been a really nice experience. I think I can say that I will be trying to move and stay with OLED going forward. It delivers a very high-quality image. Further, it looks good, supports a high refresh rate, and offers solid connectivity. I do have one wish though… Included is all that you would expect, and perhaps a little more. You get the monitor itself, the stand, a VESA mount kit, manual, microfiber cloth, and display port and power cables. They also threw in a sticker and ROG pouch. Not a big thing, but nice to see. When it comes to build, I would say nicely done. Easy to put together, and once done, it is solid and nice weight. It has a good range of motion and can be easily adjusted. Nothing too fancy, but all done well. As for the look? Overall, I like it. To be clear, I like boring, plain, and clean. Which this mostly is. The stand is pretty basic, as well as compact, with a hint of “gamer,” although they refer to it as a “futuristic cyberpunk-inspired aesthetic.” There is a LED logo light on the back (which is quite subtle), but it mostly all just has a clean look. The panel itself is quite thin, although the overall package has a bit of thickness to it. Just something to note. No complaints here. Connectivity is a bit basic but solid. 1 Display 1.4, 1 HDMI 2.1, 1 Headphone Jack and 1 USB-C (with 15W Power Delivery). All in all, most should be covered and happy here, but having used a higher spec’d model, I miss a few things. When it comes to the most important part, though, the picture quality, they did not miss. It is fantastic. Colors are detailed, accurate, and full. HDR is clearly noticeable. Details are sharp and crispy, especially for a 2K panel. Content is vivid and bright, and the blacks, well, are probably among the best I have personally seen in my daily use. Further, it also just performs well. I have not seen any tearing, flickering, lag, really any of it to this point while gaming. It has been very consistent. Lastly, it also does well in the day to day, be it media consumption, or simply general life tasks. I could not really ask for more here. Additionally, ASUS provides some nice resources with software and tools to help take care of the monitor. Given the nature of OLED technology, this is nice to see and are all nice adds. Now, for my one sticking point, and perhaps this is just a personal thing, but I wish it had speakers. I realize headphones and external speakers will be used by many a lot of the time, but I have been so used to having them with my prior monitors that not being able to casually watch something and have native sound is just a big miss for me. Perhaps this is just the market now? That said, ultimately, I am very happy with this monitor and I like it quit a bit. It Is well-built, looks good (mostly lol), has some nice features, and, most importantly to me, delivers a wonderful image. If anything, I would like have it in a larger size. Despite my concern with the speakers, for the performance and all you get, I think the value is definitely there.

For those looking for the absolute minimal latency for esports games, this is the current holy grail. The 500hz refresh rate is the fastest OLED panel available, and one of the fastest panels on the market in general. Refresh rate is important as it directly impacts latency, this is how many times per second the screen refreshes the image. Coming from a TV or a standard 60hz screen this will feel like your living in the year 3000, if you have already been enjoying high refresh rate gaming for a while this will be incremental. In addition to the insane refresh rate with this being a OLED panel it has the lowest pixel response time available, no other type of panel offers a sub 1 millisecond response time. What do the two of these features do exceptionally well is provide unparalleled motion clarity. There are few games you will push 500+ FPS on to truly take full advantage of this panel, for those that wont this has AMD Freesync Premium Pro and is G-Sync certified. On top of all that, this is not just a standard OLED it is a QD-OLED that is HDR500 certified and capapble of 1000 nits peak brightness. This makes colors more vibrant, provides better contrast, and greatly improves the quality of HDR content. I will say that this Asus monitor does not have nearly as good of colors as my MSI 360hz QD-OLED out of the box, having the two set-up in a multi-monitor configuration shows some pretty jarring differences with certain content. If this is your first OLED/QD-OLED panel prepare to be absolutely blown away. Asus has a fairly invasive built in OLED care routine, you can disable this if you'd like but I wouldn't recommend bypassing running the pixel cleaning cycle fairly frequently, doing this maintenance almost completely eliminates concerns about burn-in. The primary drawback to this monitor is the glossy screen finish, so this might not be the ideal choice for bright environments or if your are set-up next to a window. If you are looking for top tier performance for E-sports titles this should be at the top of your list, but this monitor also provides a fantastic daily driver experience and is great for any type of media consumption from games to Youtube so its really for anyone looking for a high end desktop monitor.

I have been using the ASUS ROG Strix 27-inch 2K OLED 500Hz 0.03 millisecond Gaming Monitor with G-SYNC and HDR for a few days, and it performs exceptionally well. The 27-inch Quad High-Definition screen, featuring a cutting-edge quantum-dot organic light-emitting diode panel, looks stunning. The 500Hz refresh rate, combined with an ultra-fast 0.03 millisecond response time, makes everything feel incredibly smooth and responsive. Games appear and feel more fluid than ever, with almost no motion blur. I really value how this monitor is designed for both performance and durability. The quantum-dot OLED panel offers greater longevity compared to previous OLED technologies and maintains minimal flicker even when frame rates vary. The ASUS OLED Care Pro features, along with the Neo Proximity Sensor, are very impressive. When I step away, the monitor intelligently detects my absence and switches to a black screen, helping to protect the panel. Additionally, the updated Anti-Flicker 2.0 technology, with its luminance compensation algorithm, reduces flicker by 20% compared to earlier panels, making long gaming or work sessions easier on my eyes. The image quality is superb. The monitor meets the VESA Display HDR 500 True Black standard and provides incredible High Dynamic Range performance. Colors appear rich, accurate, and vibrant, while dark scenes show deep, inky blacks with excellent detail. Whether I am gaming, streaming movies, or working on content, everything looks professional and immersive. The ROG Gaming AI technology adds another level of enhancement with intelligent features that improve the overall gaming experience. Along with support for G-SYNC and the flexibility of HDMI and DisplayPort connections, this monitor feels like a complete package. Overall, I am impressed and believe it elevates my gaming setup to a whole new level.

The Fastest 1440p OLED Gaming Monitor

This monitor is absolutely sick for gaming. You get the rich colors, perfect blacks, unlimited contrast, and pixel-perfect dimming that we all expect from an OLED panel but at an incredibly fast refresh rate with virtually instantaneous .03 ms response times. Motion clarity is exceptional, ghosting is non-existent, and HDR performance is impressive. The 1440p resolution is a good choice for this monitor. There are faster monitors out there but not in OLED and not at this resolution. It’s a great balance for someone like me who has been spoiled to the vivid colors and blacks of OLED but still wants a fast monitor for competitive gameplay. 1080p is not sharp enough, and 4K is too demanding at these framerates. For this monitor to make sense, you should have gaming hardware capable of pushing games past 240 Hz at 1440p. I have a top-of-the-line RTX 5090, so I’m able to hit 500 Hz pretty easily, allowing me to fully appreciate what this panel can do. Some people may be sensitive to the text clarity on these types of monitors. Small text will not be as sharp as on an IPS LED. I’ve been using QD-OLEDs for so long that my eyes have gotten used to it, but something to point out if you plan on using this monitor for reading or coding. Pros: - Incredibly Fast 500Hz Refresh Rate - Beautiful OLED Colors and Blacks - VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack - Adjustable Stand w/ Small Footprint - ¼” Camera Mount - 2 HDMI, 1 DisplayPort 1.4 - Built-in Power Supply (no power brick) - Supports G-SYNC and FreeSync Premium - VESA Mount Adapter Included - Comes with Cables and Lots of ROG Stickers Cons: - Thicker than Other OLEDs Overall - the ASUS ROG Strix 27” 2K OLED 500Hz is one of the fastest OLED monitors on the market. If you want the smoothest of gameplay and have a good GPU, this is a beast!

[PROS] Vibrancy: Its hard for any QD-OLED to be subpar visually given the features of the technologies involved. However, this monitor pops with having a proper DisplayHDR level of 500. I'm able to have a pleasant gaming sessions even in a well-lit room without compromising my viewing experience. Responsiveness/Performance: I've been using this display with a 4080, and image quality has been smooth as butter. Given that my GPU has a sufficient amount of VRAM (16GB), I'm able to hit 500hz on lower end titles with extreme ease, and with upscaling for moderately demanding games. Ease of Use: Monitor settings are usually tethered to the physical controls on the display. However, I'm happy that I'm able to exercise control using streamlined software instead of the monitor panel. Configuring the settings is straightforward and fortunately, not an awkward process. There's an abundance of settings which make the ROG Strix very configurable outside of the presets, and I feel very comfortable with the amount of Burn-In protection tools included in the software. [CONS] Nitpicks: You could never go wrong with a higher DisplayHDR level making this more ideal for media work, but its not necessary. For gaming, this is an top tier monitor. [CONCLUSION] From my experience, the ROG Strix 27" is beefy just as much as it is beautiful. The amount of hertz that this display is rated for is reasonable given that the marketplace is flooded with very performant GPUs that are able to hit this limit. I would highly recommend it.

This monitor is terrific! The QD-OLED screen has incredibly beautiful color & brightness, especially with HDR turned on. The specs speak for themselves, 500Hz refresh rate, 2560x1440 resolution, .03ms response time, G-Sync/FreeSync, HDR, OLED anti-flicker 2.0 technology. The monitor has 1 DisplayPort 1.4, 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, and USB hub with 2 USB-A ports. There's also a headphone jack, but I got better sound plugging into my desktop. Not surprisingly, it has no speakers as it's designed for competitive gamers who are going to use headphones or external speakers. There are also heat & space considerations with OLED panels. The monitor can be tilted, angled, rotated and adjusted vertically. I like that it's equipped with a sensor that detects when the user is away and turns the screen black. It also has an RGB ROG logo on the back that color cycles for nice effects. I was pleased to see that it came with not only a DisplayPort cable but also an HDMI cable and a USB hub cable, all high quality. Replace your old cables with the new ones that come with this monitor as they are designed to support the high bandwidth of this monitor, and your old cables may not. On the Windows settings the refresh rate can be set anywhere from 500Hz down to 24Hz. However, for best performance always set it to 500Hz with Nvidia G-SYNC on and Variable Refresh Rate on the monitor OSD on. This gives the best picture performance both for gaming and streaming video. With these settings the monitor will adjust its frame rate as needed. This monitor is pricey but it's absolutely the best, both in terms of high performance and incredible picture.

I'll start of with the negative first - it's glossy. For some that's a plus, but I can't stand glossy screens because I don't like seeing my own reflection and the reflections other things in the room. I play in a dark room, so seeing my own reflection in a dark scene happens way too often for my liking. So...Holy smokes this monitor is impressive! The colors are nearly accurate out the box, everything pops and you have almost no ghosting while gaming. The 500hz reduces input lag and makes the screen crystal clear while moving quickly. This bad boy can take on work and gaming without a problem. I work with all the non-video Adobe CC apps and have to worry about color accuracy. Using this for work is nearly perfect...it just needs to be a little bigger for me, lol. I'd kinda be concerned with burn-in with all the static bars and menus though. One neat feature this monitor has is a proximity sensor. If you leave, it powers off the monitor. While helpful, I don't think I'd use it much since even on two other monitors without the sensor and a 5 min idle I haven't had any burn in yet after over year. Still, it's a helpful feature. I'm at work right now and forgot to take pictures, but those standard pics wouldn't show the richness and color range you get with and HDR monitor! If you've never used and HDR monitor or an OLED you'll be blown away. And the XG27AQDPG actually looks far better than my other two OLEDs - other than that gloss, lol. If you're on the edge about getting an OLED this one should be in consideration if the size fits your needs.

I used the ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQDPG (27″ 2K OLED 500Hz) for a few weeks and the color and clarity are amazing—fast, crisp, and a little addictive. INSTALL/SETUP Pretty much plug-and-play. DisplayPort to the PC, power on, pick your refresh, done. No weird handshakes—just works. BUILD/FEEL Typical ASUS: solid and sturdy. The stand has a small footprint, so it drops onto the desk without hogging space. Clean lines, no wobble, easy to place. FEATURES/FUNCTIONS Motion is the headline—500Hz/0.03ms feels instant; crosshairs snap, pans stay clean, virtually no blur. Picture pops—true OLED blacks + rich color, so games look VIVID SMOOTH. Viewing angles are great—no bad seat in the house. G-SYNC behaved perfectly; no tearing, no weird artifacts. Uniform Brightness helps in low-light rooms—menus don’t spike brightness and nuke your eyes. The whole experience just feels smooth. DOWNSIDE/WISH You’ll want a serious GPU (and esports titles) to really feed the 300–500 fps window; otherwise you’re enjoying amazing clarity with extra headroom you won’t always hit. I have a 5090 and it works great. OVERALL Gamers should try this beast—OLED true color + fluid 500Hz motion with great angles; everything else is a bonus.

The ASUS ROG Strix 27" 2K OLED 500Hz 0.03ms gaming monitor with G-SYNC, FreeSync, and HDR (HDMI, DisplayPort) is simply fantastic. Don’t let the 2K resolution make you think this isn’t a great monitor just because it isn’t 4K. Games I’ve been playing for the last 10 years look amazing on it. Destiny 2, which I use for many of my reviews and benchmarks, looks incredible. I’ve played a ton of different games on this monitor, and everything both looks and plays so much better. The colors are vibrant, with a clear and seamless picture, and fast-moving games look spectacular. I’m used to playing at 120Hz, so having the ability to go up to 500Hz (if your games support it) is a real game changer for titles like Call of Duty and Destiny 2. It feels great to play everything on Ultra settings and have it look this good. The price is steep, but you’re getting a lot of value for your money. I do wish the physical buttons were easier to use, as they’re located on the back and aren’t always straightforward. It’s a shame they didn’t include a remote control. Still, if you’re an active PC gamer looking for a top-of-the-line monitor, this one is absolutely worth checking out.

The ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDPG immediately impressed me with its sleek design and solid build quality. Unboxing was very easy and ROG provides HDMI, DisplayPort and USB 3.0 cables so you can choose the most convenient cable for you. The display itself is great, the OLED panel at 1440p makes colors vivid while also making blacks, truly black. If you haven't used an OLED display before, you will immediately notice the difference in colors and quality compared to an LCD. Performance is the main selling point for this monitor in my opinion. 500hz and 0.03ms response time is perfect for gaming, especially competitive FPS/MOBA games. I haven't noticed any screen tearing or ghosting either. The heat sink seems to be doing its job from keeping the monitor from getting too hot. It is definitely a premium monitor though, the price is high, but for good reason. For a casual gamer this monitor would definitely be overkill. To get the full use out of the 500hz you need a strong PC. But for someone who is a hardcore gamer, who especially plays competitive games, it definitely delivers, Overall the monitor is quick, the colors are amazing, and the performance is great.

The ASUS - ROG Strix 27" 2K OLED 500Hz 0.03ms Gaming Monitor with G-SYNC/FreeSync and HDR (HDMI, DisplayPort) - Black is hands down without a doubt the prettiest Monitor I have ever hooked up to my computer. By prettiest, I mean the out of the box picture is so vibrant and beautiful that even just the opening background scenes in windows 11 are breathtaking! My video games have never looked so good. The Black levels are so dark without any sense of bloom like other display types have. I have heard that OLED screens weren't bright enough, but even in full daylight this screen was so bright on it's factory setting that I had to dim it down a bit. The dark shadows look so good in my games that I want to go back and replay some of my older games again just to see how much better they can look! The only couple of things I don't like about the monitor is that I had a really issue setting it up. Apparently if I turn on HDR in my desktop display options it overloads the monitor and it will turn all grainy and pastel, it took me quite a while and lots of googling online to find the issue. Also if I turn the display refresh rate up on the monitor the diplay resolution goes down to 1080p... also the highest refresh rate listed is not even close to 500 hz... I downloaded the software from the ASUS suport website, and a monitor widget as well, but when I open the download there is no exec file, just a driver. I haven't played around with updating drivers or switching settings around on my graphics card yet, but maybe I can get it sorted out in there after more troubleshooting and research. I downloaded the manual and it shows a whole list of options that I should be able to click on, but they don't show up in my monitors menu. The other thing I don't like is the big ugly control panel bump on the bottom of the monitor. It works great and is highly intuitive, however it's also in the way. I wanted to use this monitor as the center of a 3 monitor set up in portrait mode, but because of the stupid ugly bump this monitor can only be used as the left or right screen but not the center. I'm highly annoyed because of that... I wanted to use the OLED in the middle because it's the best screen, and use LEDs for the outside monitors.

I would recommend this to a friend

Great monitor held back by poor software

This is an excellent monitor that is held back by the software that ASUS requires. The display is excellent, and I cannot complain in any fashion about that. The image is sharp, text is amazingly clear, and the colors are vibrant. Where ASUS seems to fall a bit short is on their software. It seems strange to say that about a monitor... When you look in the menu for the monitor, you see all of the normal controls that you would expect, but the color adjustment is grayed out. You cannot adjust the color at all. They require that you download their ASUS Display Widget software... Fine. You download and install and this opens up a few options like having a cross-hair for shooting games that is permanently on the screen. OK... You can adjust the warmth of the display, so you can make it bluer or more yellow/orange. OK. All other color adjustments are still grayed out. So, this software doesn't seem to do much of anything other than allow you to manipulate some more fine-grained panel maintenance settings like automatic dimming and pixel cleaning. Then there are the affirmative downsides of the software which make it almost impossible to move a window after it has been maximized. If you try to move a window that is too near the top of the screen, it will freeze up and only move a few pixels. This may actually cause the program you're trying to move to crash (at least it did for my File Explorer window).
