Terrible product but even worse customer service

Returned & exchanged, new laptop heats up excessively and after less than 2 months of use the fans are making loud cracking and squealing noises. Tech is stating the fans and thermal issues need fixing and it was caused by being dropped so not under warranty. Absolutely ridiculous! Its obvious this laptop has thermal issues based on numerous reviews and was not caused by a drop. Very disappointed! Will never buy another ASUS product ever!!

We do understand your dissatisfaction with the quality of the product and your recent customer service experience, and the inconvenience this may have caused. ASUS is an ISO certified company, and as a result, all products go into a strict quality manufacturing standard. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections that ensure each one is trouble-free. Regarding your concern on the thermal issue, it is normal for laptops with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially during gaming. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full throttle. To regulate heat generation, ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions to have efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming ensure no resource-hungry applications, services and processes are running in the background, this will spike the temperature. You can check go to Task Manager to check how high system resource utilization is being used. The heat or temperature does decrease or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down. Additionally, update Windows, drivers, BIOS and the Armoury Crate utility software if outdated. Updates for this laptop are posted at:  https://rog.asus.com/us/laptops/rog-strix/rog-strix-g16-2025-g614/helpdesk_download/. Configure your system, game, video and operating mode settings inside the latest version of the Armoury Crate utility software posted at: https://www.asus.com/supportonly/armoury%20crate/helpdesk_download/ . Don't recommend, has issues with drivers/hardware

I've been using this just for a week and have several crashes/system reboot per day. While it is not under load (just browser and office apps) it's crashing randomly during the day. I have all drivers updated and temperature of the CPU in range 70-90C GPU has 0 usage with 50C temperature. Most probably defect related to hardware or drivers as I found lot of complaints for this model from other people. Also want to mention battery - it takes about hour of normal work(not gaming) to get it fully empty. Will have to return this laptop back, very frustrating

If Windows, drivers, and games are up to date and you are still experiencing random system crash and overheating, update the BIOS if outdated. Additionally, check if you are running the most current Armoury Crate utility software. The most current version is available for download at: https://www.asus.com/supportonly/armoury%20crate/helpdesk_download/. While accessing cloud games or web applications, ensure this unit has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since poor and unstable internet connection will affect system stability and performance. If these steps were performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "MyASUS" utility software or application. If this is not pre-installed on the laptop, please download the application at the Microsoft Store. For details on how to use "My ASUS", please go to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1041686/.
