With multiple different sets of ram, a bios update, and a new clock battery the bios completely resets on a power loss. Requires a GPU to post, and if it doesn't detect it --which I've tried multiple GPUs-- it just will sit there doing nothing endlessly. The wifi driver only works for Windows 11, and requires LAN to work with Windows 10, and it's very iffy on Windows 10.

Ethernet sucks

To resolve this, ensure this motherboard is running with the most current LAN driver posted at:  https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-x870-f-gaming-wifi/helpdesk_download/ . Additionally, check if you are using a compatible and known good Ethernet cable and your PC has access to a working and stable internet service or connection. EXPO never worked

I Waited a month for a Bios update that never came.

Great if you love being bottlenecked to 100Mbps!

The issue is with Intel’s I226-V controller, which has been notorious for speed negotiation problems and random disconnects. It’s incredibly frustrating to pay this much for a premium motherboard and constantly being bottlenecked to 100 Mbps.

Needs Work Asus
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this unit 2 weeks ago. Had it installed. After a week of use the Ethernet port went out. Contacted Asus after replacing the cable and router to see how to fix it. Had to talk to several people over a few day to find out I have to pull it and send it in to get repaired. I may or may not get my motherboard back. They might send me a use one in return to the new one I sent them. I'm paying to have it pulled and reinstalled again. The Motherboard when it was running for a couple days was amazing, but the customer service is lacking in a very big way.

We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if the Ethernet stop working after a week of usage. ASUS is an ISO certified company, as a result, all products go into a strict quality manufacturing standard and are built to last. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections that ensure each one is trouble-free. If the Ethernet connection suddenly stop working, try to reinstall the Ethernet driver since another network cable was tried. If a recent update caused the ethernet to stop, try to perform a System Restore to revert the system to the last known configuration. If problem persists, we recommend you send the product in for service to determine if this is a hardware issue so this may be resolved immediately.
