We do not live in the US and now need to send it back with somebody to Best Buy in order for the company to fix/replace it. Not happy at all with the purchase.

This was an amazing deal and I love the laptop. I give this a 2 star as I had many issues. The screen was tearing when playing youtube videos which I fixed by reinstalling the AMD software. The speakers were buzzing and popping when playing video which I had to go on Reddit to find. The final major issue that I was, unfortunately. not able to fix was the coil whine issue. When the fan is silent there is a high-frequency sound that is always buzzing. After using the laptop for one day I got used to it but for other people, it might be a dela breaker. I would have definitely returned the laptop had I bought it brand new for the full price, however, the 816 pricing was just too good to pass.

We're sorry to hear about the unfortunate issues you're having with the coil whine on this model. Please allow us to make your experience with ASUS a better one. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient airflow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource-hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down.

Despite the sticker on the machine and the software installed on the system, there was no dedicated graphics card installed. Bait and Switch Asus!

I took it for a repair shop and they said the motherboard is bad. Only after 6 months. Not sure about the warranty situation now.
