Fantastic laptop. Handles gaming and video editing great. The ports are good and well thought out, No Ethernet port but will run Ethernet through a Type C adapter. For the sale price I got it for it's a great value.

Great laptop dedicated for Zwift. Using this connected to an external monitor and keyboard for use during Zwift training. Get around 100 fps depending on the course.

Great specs, but has some "raw" software. Boot process is buggy. After disabling POST audio in UEFI, the laptop took 6 minutes until it started showing anything on screen. Otherwise great combo of AMD cards - way easier for not tech-savvy people to maintain a decent battery life out of it.

There is a ton to like about this year's iteration of the G14. The 6900HS is very power efficient, and the 6700S GPU falls between a 3060 and 3070, and performs as expected. The screen is bright and colorful, and the 16:10 aspect ratio is a welcome upgrade. Backlight bleed seems to vary between units: mine isn't so bad, but I've seen examples of it being pretty awful. This seems to be a trend among the Zephyrus line. The M16 and G15 had this same issue in 2021. But the heat issues with this laptop are real, and they're real enough that I'm not sure I feel comfortable keeping this laptop. For context, I think I'm quite knowledgeable of hardware, and it is reasonable for a gaming laptop to exceed 90C on the CPU under heavy loads, or even many gaming loads. That's not necessarily alarming, as long as the thermal solution is capable enough to keep temps under control without too much throttling. Unfortunately, the G14 doesn't seem to have that sort of thermal solution. Out of the box, with BIOS version 305, this machine was a mess. Initially it would take 10-15 minutes to boot. Once I finally got into Windows, the machine shut off. I suspect thermals, but I wasn't monitoring it. I restarted the laptop, and the keyboard lights came on, but the monitor was blank and the fans weren't spinning. After a couple of minutes, the laptop started making noise like an egg frying. I thought it was the speakers at first, but no - it wasn't. I'm assuming that the small amount of water in the vapor chamber cooling solution was quite literally boiling. The laptop deck was EXTREMELY hot to the touch. Not typical-laptop-hot. It was hot enough that I believe I would have had a minor burn if I kept my hand there too long. Easily had to be above 135F on the deck. Once I finally got into the BIOS, I saw the CPU at 97C before it abruptly shut down again. After a few attempts, I was able to update the BIOS to version 309. If you're in this position, don't use Windows Update for this firmware update. It will fail. Go to the ASUS support page for this laptop, manually download the BIOS and choose "Extract Files" on installation. Put the BIOS file on a USB drive, go into the BIOS, and use EZ Flash to manually update. As of this writing, on BIOS v309, things have been fine. Temps aren't bad; idle is around 45-55C, gaming load peaks around 88-92C on a core or two. But I'll be keeping an eye on this machine. Looking through reviews, I'm not the only one with the "frying egg" sound and head problem. ASUS: what are you doing? Is there QC over there? How do you let a machine ship with a BIOS that a) can't control fans and b) allows runaway CPU thermals without shutting down? This is dangerous, and I could absolutely see CPUs getting literally fried in this machine. There is a lot to like about this form factor and this laptop, but I can't recommend it as long as its shipping with a terribly faulty BIOS. If you bought it and you're having similar issues, use another machine to download the latest BIOS update and install it manually, and hopefully that solves your issue. But buyer beware. Hopefully a few manufacturing runs will result in a newer BIOS being shipped out of the box.

I purchased a high performance computer for daily tasks to extend the useful life of the machine for the minor, light duty tasks I performed periodically during the week. One day it went into an infinite boot up loop and never recovered. The technicians informed me it was a failure of the CPU or motherboard. Will not buy this brand in the future.

I downloaded the latest BIOC update and my laptop completely died. The computer said not to unplug or turn it off during the update so I didn’t.. and it overheated (even though I turned on the turbo fans prior to). I’m so sad, I JUST got this laptop a little over a week ago, I downloaded Opera GX, and I didn’t even get the chance to play a game on it before it died, I’m so sad. Thankfully I got a warranty on it but I was hoping to not have to use it ever, I’m gonna try taking it to BestBuy to see if I can get it repaired but the screen stays black and the keyboard lights up red no matter how many times I try to hit the power button.. :(

laptop does run hot, nothing a cooling pad cant fix! it runs games like World of Warcraft : Dragonflight really well with addons, Runescape, Hearthstone and many others. perfect travel size too!

Terrible ran so hot that my hardware started failing. BSOD within 1 year guaranteed if you don’t use a cooling pad. Other than the short life, this laptop was perfect in every way.

Product has an overheating issue. It will randomly shut itself down even with a cooling fan base on maximum speed. Product is overpriced and slower than a any laptop I've ever seen. These arent even an option in the system anymore so you cant get support for it without paying out of pocket to go back to the manufacturer. Geek squad can't help. No support, no assistance. If I could give negative stars I would.

Good computer, Pay attention to your passwords! From the beginng! Write everything you do in a journal!!!!!!! Dont trust you will remember!!!!! Lots of apps will ask you to set up new passwords!!!!

Best 14" laptop I've ever purchase. The power and capability that comes out of this 14" laptop is crazy and not only that, it's a gaming laptop.

Very good laptop. Slight Quality Control issues but nothing extremely noticeable. Has few annoying quirks in software and hardware. The speaker fizzles out when the laptop gets hot.

Best gaming laptop just hate how it needs to be changing all the time to play long sessions

Exceptional. Even with 16 GB of RAM, I can work with Bridge, Photoshop and Lightroom running at the same time with no issues. This laptop is a mini monster.

I have owned several gaming laptops and this is one of the smoothest running ones I have owned. The graphics are smooth and the colors are vibrant. This all AMD machine performs far better than I expected for the price. It can be loud when running a graphic demanding game and utilizing an external keyboard and mouse is the way to go as it does heat up your hand if you use the built in keyboard.

This laptop is powerful! It runs even new triple a games with minimal issues. It exchanges the heat pretty well too. Fans are loud but do a good job.
