Not Worth It - Even On Sale

I've had the displeasure of owning three of these - the first would randomly shut down right after start up as soon as it hit the desk top. A hard reset would make it work on the next reboot, only to have that happen again the next startup. The third attempt didn't have this issue, but the weak Wifi card was borderline unusable. Sure, it's a $20 part you can upgrade yourself, but I have a hard time parting with $1000-1300 knowing I have to immediately upgrade a part to get it working. Not only is there a delay in the wifi to come up and function at boot, but I would constantly get a low-wifi connection warning in games when on this PC (despite have 1GB internet and fast, strong signal on all my other devices).

If you are experiencing weak WIFI signal, please verify if the laptop is within range to an established wireless router or access point, it is getting an excellent signal and internet service is working properly. Constant hardware and software issues.

I have purchased this item 3 times. The first time, 6 keys on the keyboard did not work. The second time, the laptop consistently froze when playing certain games, forcing me to force shut down to resolve the problems, I have tried all troubleshooting from contacting MyAsus, reinstalling drivers, reinstalling windows, etc. Then I bought my current one. It worked fine for a couple of weeks, and the problems from my second purchase were consistent with this one. Now the return period is over and am very upset with the quality control.

We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused.
All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, these are random problems. The system freeze or performance issues while playing games can easily be resolve by making sure, the game is running with the latest version or patch file, chipset and video drivers are up to date and Windows is current. While gaming, please verify that no resource hungry applications, processes and services are running in the background, and air ventilations are free from obstructions since this will definitely spike the temperature and cause stability and performance issues. If playing games online, please ensure the laptop has access to an established router, it is getting an excellent signal and internet service is working properly since poor and unstable internet connnection will definitely affect system speed and performance.

2 strikes, not trying for the third....

These are supposed to be able to be charged from the usb c port - it's even marked with the "lightening bolt", but found neither would charge from the port. And, on the first computer the other usb c port was loose. There were issues with downloading and installing updates, and the Armory Crate would over ride color settings to a yellowish/greenish cast to the screen. It is nice to have apps to control fan, processor, GPU, etc., but the user should be able to make customization's - that "stick" - to optimize their use. There are some good points - excellent build, good screen, and fast, but when I cannot control how an app functions I have no use for it. Sadly, if these Asus apps are uninstalled, or turned off, many other functions also cease to work. I have had and used a number of Asus laptops, but this particular one isn't wortking for me. Sorry to say, I will be returning - even though no fault of Best Buy....
