Bad QC good specs

Only the RGB on the keyboard worked and after two hours of troubleshooting, I gave up and had to go back to exchange it for a new one. Never bought a 1,600-dollar laptop that had a dead screen out of box!

Great for whatever your needs are

I primarily got it for when I travel as I have a desktop at home but this thing was perfect for what I need and was on sale. The screen is very smooth with crisp images. I was using this primarily for open world games and watching movies. Really good battery life and the RX 6700S handles my gaming with ease. The Aura software is easy for changing performance modes, RGB lighting & custom fan curves. The keyboard and touch pad have a very premium feel to them as does the actual chassis. It easily fits into my backpack I travel with and is fairly light. Finally this laptop is stunning to look at.

Reboot Issues

The product force quits me out at random intervals with all drivers updates and BIOS installed. If it wasn’t for this constant issue I would recommend this product. This should not be happening.

If drivers and BIOS are up to date, check if Windows is updated, also. If there is a specific application or game that causes the reboot problem, please verify this application or game is Windows 11 complaint and if it does, check if it is running with its current version. If these steps were already performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. Worse computer ever

Best Laptop For College and Gaming

I am able to have a powerful GPU and CPU while having great battery life. The ability to turn off the GPU completely to maximize battery life is the reason I purchased this. The screen is also very nice for a laptop with the nice 16:10 aspect ratio and brightness.

I will be returning it soon, but if yours doesn’t have any defects I would whole heartedly suggest it!

Broke within a month.

One day the screen did not come on. When you plug the laptop it gets real hot. Cant touch it with barehands. Will never buy from this brand again. A 1000 dollar brick.

Nice build

Fan does run loud when gaming, but otherwise it's quiet for achool-related work. The laptop is surprisingly light and well built. And the performance is next level. I may have to replace my old XPS for one as well.

HDMI connected to TV/Monitor and boot up still showed nothing. Best Buy immediately exchanged it for another one that seems to work fine..

QC issues

Everything was updated to the latest driver and it seems like everyone else says a QC issue. If you run into these issues to minimize it I had to make sure it uses the discrete GPU instead the other option. I also made sure that the fans were up to speed to keep the thing cooled but it does get toasty. Unfortunately even with doing all that and lowering graphics on certain games I would still get the blue screen and random restarts. I had to return it and got a Lenovo with identical hardware but a little bigger then this and that ran flawlessly without any issues.

Returned - Hot - Buggy - Too much backlight bleed

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to return due to possibly the worst screen bleed i've had on any laptop, as well as instability issues, glitches, and bugs, at some points i couldnt get passed the login screen due to (for whatever reason) windows explorer not properly working. When it did funtion, the laptop ran much hotter than the 2021 G14, with little to no noticeable performance over last years model. QHD 16:10 screen was nice and colorful with the unfortunate downside of really bad backlight bleed (on my particular unit) on the bottom left portion of the display. The RGB on the keyboard is OK at best, single zone, though dim and lacking compared to other brands and models in this price segment. Performance of the 6700S is fair, at the new starting price of these models you'd *hope* for a little bit more for what you're paying for, but, it will still run just about everything you could imagine for a gaming laptop Battery life is better than last years, though not by much in comparison to my particular 2021 G14, i saw about 10 hours on the 2022 and just about 9 hours and some minutes on the 2021 Heat, well this laptop is in fact hot, expect around 5-10 degrees higher compared to 2021 If you have the 2021 model, you should probably keep is as that machine is (in my eyes) much more refined, but that does not mean that this is a terrible machine, just i may have gotten a gimped unit. Also there is to mention that updates will likely improve usability of this device in the future so just be weary, if you get a unit that is underperforming or has too much backlight bleed for your taste, return, get something else (lots of good deals at the moment), or try again with another unit if its available to you.

Every so often (more frequently when it comes out of sleep) the wifi will just not be there, as if there was no wifi card. You have to hold the power key for 60 seconds to cycle it for it to come back. No known fix coming either... The fans are also pretty loud, but for a gaming laptop that's not really surprising.

Save your money.

Two years in, and this laptop has crashed more than any computer I've ever owned in my life. Every time I attempt to play a game, the laptop will shut down, restart, freeze or remove my internet network and time from the laptop. I have never experienced that.

Garbage

There are only 2 small hinges that connect the screen to the bottom. One hinge broke and started to pull away from the screen. I contacted Asus and they sent me to BB. I went to Geek Squad and was this damage is not under warranty, bought less than a year ago. Said it would cost 70% of what the laptop cost to replace the screen, $700 or more. Was a good laptop for kids to game on before it broke.
