This is without a doubt one of the best laptops I’ve ever had the pleasure of using. My first all AMD branded CPU and video card that I’ve also used. Processor AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS Processor Speed 3.3 GHz Graphics Processor AMD Radeon RX 6700S Graphics Memory 8 GB RAM (as Tested) 16 GB Hard Drive 1TB 2450 PCIe 4.0 SSD Screen Size 14 inches Native Display Resolution 2560 by 1600 Panel Technology IPS Variable Refresh Support FreeSync Screen Refresh Rate 120 Hz Wireless Networking Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 6E Weight 3.64 lbs Games are easily as smooth as any Nvidia based gaming laptop. Granted games used are only running at 1920x1080 but all settings have been maxed and it’s smooth. COD 4, Black Ops Cold War, Borderlands 3 (82 fps). Heat and noise are the standard fair for a gaming laptop. This one however can stay relatively cool considering the small form factor of the laptop. I have yet to have a game freeze, or an OS freeze this entire trail period. Ample connection (external ports) options. Left side has the power port, HDMI 2.0 (not the latest HDMI 2.1), USB-C, and audio jack. On the right side there are two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, USB-C port and a microSD slot (UHS-II). The included tuning software “Armory Crate” is decent if not cumbersome. There are plenty of fine tuning options including 3 quick settings for “Performance”, a good middle of the road setting for quietness and speed when needed. “Turbo” for all out performance and noise and then the “Silent” option. There are also settings for the keyboard lighting which is rather dim at best. A Mux switch for use of the Discrete GPU at all times. Overall a very solidly built and solidly performing laptop. Recommend giving this one a shot if your in the market for a smaller form factor laptop and not really having to sacrifice on performance.

Overall I am very happy and impressed so far with my new 2022 Zephyrus 14. First the looks and built quality is truly great. The product feels and looks top notch. White sparkling metal chassis is very nicely executed. Plenty of ports, including the USB C charging port on the left and mini SD cart on the right. The keyboard has a nice travel depth and can be custom lighted with various colors, of which more later. There are four customizable keys on the top that can be assigned different functions. The screen is just gorgeous, depending on the setting it can produce truly vivid images even in a bright daylight. In addition the screen opens up slightly more than 180 degrees, which can make it very convenient in some situations having the screen laying flat along with the keyboard. My 2019 Zephyrus did not have that. Nice feature to have. The included web cam (720p, 30fps) allows for Windows Hello log in which is very convenient and also very fast. The produced image is quite solid, color reproduction is very decent for a 720p camera. That brings us to performance. Outside of the games, it performs almost instantaneously opening apps, browsers, what have you. Using it you get the experience of the top spec machine that can deliver an effortless experience. Regarding the in games performance I tried several different games (Crysis 3, Forza Horizon 4 and more) on the highest settings possible and all played perfectly. No slow downs, no nothing, just a pure delicious play. The speakers produce a great sound, no distortions, very impressive depth and range. If it comes to the laptop performance customization you have the ASUS Armoury Crate software that gives a full spectrum of customization options. You can set up different macros, select from 8 different game visual settings, create and customize different user profiles with their own system customizations. The keyboard lighting can be set up with 10 different modes that can change colors based on different preset conditions. Screen color calibration is also included within the software. Now to the two important considerations, needed to know. First is that with the specs set to the max the bottom of the laptop can run warm. It is not hot, but you can feel the warmth. Second, the battery performance while playing was not that impressive. The battery will last much longer when not playing the full spec games. Overall I am very happy with my new Zephyrus. It really has a great presentation, looks quality, feels great, performs wonderfully. Plenty of ports, great screen quality, very fast, no game yet was able to show its limits. It a winner in my book. I like it. You might like it too.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus features upgraded hardware with a newly designed exterior chassis for this years refresh. This is one of Asus’ models that they upgrade yearly with the latest hardware, this year’s entry features a redesigned chassis featuring an SD card reader and a lighted logo on the laptop lid. With the addition of the SD card reader the ROG Zephyrus comes even closer to having all the ports you could wish for, with 2 USB-C ports, a full-sized HDMI port, and 2 USB-A ports, the only addition I would like to see is a Ethernet port so that I could have a wired connection without having to use Wi-Fi when I am at home. Thankfully with the included USB-C ports it’s possible to use either a dongle or a dock to add any additional ports that you may need, although it is important to remember that the ports are USB-C and not thunderbolt and even though they share a similar connection they may not be fully compatible with each other. I am not sure if there are versions of this particular laptop that do have thunderbolt, but this one does not so that is something to keep in mind if you already have some accessories that are thunderbolt they may not function properly or at all. Overall this is an amazing laptop with some extremely powerful hardware, and unlike other brands Asus seems to be adding ports instead of taking them away which is great. Besides not having an Ethernet port, there is nothing that I can find to complain about with this laptop, it has a great display, good speakers, and amazing hardware, it boots up in seconds and hasn’t struggled with anything I’ve thrown at it. I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone who is in the market for a new laptop or for anyone looking to upgrade their old computer.

    Very Capable Gaming Laptop

The Asus ROG Zephyrus is a very capable gaming laptop that should be able to run most modern games at decent framerates. First of all, the specs: AMD Ryzen 9 6900 CPU AMD Radeon RX6700S GPU 16GB DDR5 RAM 14" 120hz monitor 1TB solid sate drive All of this puts it squarely in the mid-high range tier of gaming laptops. Performance-wise, I tested it on a few different games such as Doom Eternal, MS Flight Simulator, and Forza Horizon 5. On all games I was able to set to either the highest setting, or second highest setting and get very decent framrates around 60fps. Turn the quality settings down a notch or two and I could bump that to 120fps with no problems. Overall, I'd say this laptop can at least match, if not outperform both the Series X and PS5. I had a little bit of trouble when connecting to an external monitor. Something keeps resetting my monitor settings to max out at 60hz, but I have a feeling it's either windows or a driver issue. I won't knock off any points, but it's worth mentioning if you plan on using an external monitor. Design wise, they did a great job with this laptop. It is not garishly in your face like some other gaming laptops. It's actually quite subtle, and from a distance you wouldn't even know it was a gaming laptop. It is really quite lightweight. I can't believe how they crammed so much power into such a small machine. Gaming laptops have definitely come a long way in recent years. For connectivity, you should be covered for just about everything. There are two USB-A ports, two USB-C ports, a micro-sd card slot, and an HDMI port. It also has the latest AX wifi standard. All what you would expect out of a current, mid-high end laptop. Overall I am just very happy with this system. It is beautifully designed and has more than enough power to handle most current games, while still maintaining a convenient, lightweight form factor.

Amazing as a laptop, especially the battery. However, the wifi card is very bad and should be replaced, but the problem is it also might void your warranty.

I bought this for my daughter's birthday and she really loves it. She's able to have multiple games downloaded and they run smoothly. She also connects a sketch pad to it and uses it for graphic design. It's fast, has a great picture, and the sound quality is pretty great too.

Great laptop, runs anything I throw at it while plugged in and still gets 8+ hours of battery when I use it for normal productivity stuff. The Asus software has a slight learning curve but it's not bad at all.

I got this one and hope better cooling system but NOT I tried to minimize everything to the lowest mode to keep this laptop cool down. It was so hot and automatically shut down. It has a beautiful display, good speakers, incredible battery life that can last up to 6-7 hours, and is lightweight. I love this computer so much but I have to return it because of overheat. I hope ASUS can improve the fan and cooling system.

    A Non-Gamer Review

This laptop got me through my architecture masters degree with ease. It can handle having three Adobe Suite apps, Revit and a rendering software running with 25 google chrome tabs open and not even break a sweat. Some office desktops cannot even do that! I mean come on, its incredible! I only have three "complaints" after two years that may be a dealbreaker to some: 1. The screen kind of sucks. It is matte and the coloring is a bit strange. I use it with plugged in desktops that are LED - with that it is perfect. 2. YOU NEED TO STAY UP TO DATE ON YOUR SOFTWARE UPDATES. If you do not update the graphics card it gets wonky and WILL not work. Once it is updated however, it is a dream again! I have heard this is the case for all gaming laptops but felt the need to mention it because I feel it effects this laptop more than some others. 3. It can get hot. I keep it propped up and this seems to help with that. It is not an issue for me as I rarely have this on my lap but it could be a dealbreaker for some.
