Great laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this laptop for over a year now. I use it for gaming and for work. The battery is pretty good when using browser and word processor programs. I also do quite a bit of video calls and phone calls through it. The Bluetooth/wifi card that was included wasn’t the most reliable. I switched to an ax210 intel card and it works perfectly. I also upgraded the ram to 24gb of ram and a 2tb hard drive. My work programs love to eat ram so it was a necessary upgrade. When plugged in, this laptop comes alive. It can tackle any game on high settings, video editing and music recording. I have been very happy with this laptop. I highly recommend it!

Unleashing Power and Precision: ASUS ROG Zephyrus
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a gaming enthusiast constantly on the lookout for a laptop that can keep up with both my gaming and professional needs, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus 14" has been a revelation. This powerhouse, equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 processor and AMD Radeon RX 6700S graphics card, not only meets but frequently exceeds my expectations. **Design and Build Quality:** The first thing you notice is its stunning, sleek white chassis, which stands out in a sea of traditional black gaming laptops. The build quality feels robust and well thought out, making it a perfect companion for travel. Despite its compact size, the laptop feels solid and durable, ready to face the rigors of both travel and intense gaming sessions. **Display:** The WQXGA 120Hz display is a visual treat. The higher resolution ensures that everything looks sharper and more detailed. For gamers, the 120Hz refresh rate is a game-changer, making gameplay incredibly smooth and fluid. Whether I'm navigating fast-paced battlefields or editing high-resolution videos, the display's performance remains consistently impressive. **Performance:** Powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 processor and 16GB DDR5 memory, the Zephyrus 14 handles multitasking with ease. I can keep multiple programs open, stream music, and still enjoy seamless gaming without any lag. The AMD Radeon RX 6700S graphics card also deserves praise; it supports high settings on most modern games, providing a delightful gaming experience with excellent frame rates. **Thermal Management:** Heat management is crucial in gaming laptops, and ASUS has done a commendable job here. Even during extended gaming sessions, the laptop manages to distribute heat efficiently without any throttling. The fan noise is noticeable under load but is not overly distracting, which is often a compromise in thinner gaming laptops. **Battery Life:** For a gaming laptop, the battery performance is quite decent. It manages to run for about 6-7 hours on moderate usage, which is impressive given its high-end specifications. This makes the Zephyrus 14 a great option for those who need to work or game on the go. **Storage:** The 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD is another highlight, offering ample storage with blazing-fast speeds. Game load times are noticeably shorter, and system boot-up is almost instantaneous. **Final Thoughts:** The ASUS ROG Zephyrus 14" is a top-tier gaming laptop that does not disappoint. It's a perfect blend of performance, portability, and aesthetics. Whether you're a professional needing a powerful machine for creative software, or a gamer wanting a reliable and high-performing gaming device, the Zephyrus 14 is an excellent choice. It's a significant investment, but for the quality and performance on offer, it's an investment worth making.

A very good perfoming laptop with some QC issues.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best overall windows laptop I have ever used. The screen's fantastic with amazing color representation. The graphics are amazing for 1080p gaming and good enough for 1440p gaming. If you need it for ML tasks, this Radeon GPU is not a good option as it lacks Nvidia's CUDA cores. The battery life is decent, I get about 5-6 hours of usage using the integrated graphics. The WiFi experience was terrible though. I had to immediately get an Intel WiFi 6E card to replace the bad MediaTek one. I absolutely love the white color and it doesn't get dirty. The speakers are decent-good when the laptop is placed on a hard surface. The trackpad is glass and feels very premium. A few QC issues that I have noticed are: 1) The backlight bleed is very noticeable. 2) After some amount of usethe rubber gasket around the display starts coming off which is very surprising because I havent had this issue with other laptops I have used. 3) Problem 1 and 2 can be accounted for by the poor quality of material used for the screen lid. It is not stiff and one can easily bend it after opening and closing the lid enough times, but it's nothing that can't be undone easily.

An all around Great Latop
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I've read some reviews about how the laptop's durability is questionable and as of this review, I haven't owned this long enough to comment on that but, from my time with the laptop. I am very pleased with it overall. In terms of productivity and every day use I really like the form factor, the keyboard feels good when using it to type long documents. The laptop sort of tilts upward upon opening so it makes it more comfortable when using it. I felt like the computer was getting warmer than I wanted but, I suddenly got an alert from Asus "Armoury Crate" (basically a control center for the computer) that advised me to switch to battery saving mode and which allows for the laptop to switch over the integrated GPU in order to save some battery. When this happens, the computer isn't as warm and saves way more battery. For everyday tasks such as web browsing and programs, this is the way to go. The computer can handle multitasking well but, that was expected based of the laptop's specs. For Gamers Yes, I've played a few games on here. I tried out the sports game, in particular, this laptop can run most modern games with medium settings but, I did encounter some occasional frame drops so certain things have to be lowed for certain games. This is normal for a laptop with these specs. For everyday use, fantastic laptop. For gaming, this gets the job done but, don't expect to run things with the highest settings (which is fine for a laptop).

Great laptop with a chassis flaw
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an amazing laptop with a minor flaw, the bottom plate seems to be made out of a material that crumbles. No flex in the frame, the speed is great, the GPU works with games for a traveling device, the sound is good for a small device, when the battery is off the charger and using it for casual use is great (lasted me up to 10 hours, you will need to adjust power settings to get this), and the laptop can stay cool with no noise in that mode as well. The biggest flaw is that the bottom plate crumbles around the edges, especially the corners towards your wrists. Minor issue, the USB-A ports are close enough together that semi-bulky USB drives can block the other port. Note, that the USB-c port on the left can take in 90w of power for charging, 65w will keep it alive but not charge if not in power saving. This model has 8GB of RAM soldered with 1 dimm slot.

good for school and most gaming
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.love this computer, it runs most games at a decent quality, backlight isnt super bright so i dont usually use it, the battery life is pretty decent. I use this for college with basic use it's around 3-4hr battery life without any special battery optimization. It is a gaming laptop and can get pretty hot so i bought a cooling pad and it helps a bit. Overall its a good mix for both daily work and most gaming if you arent a hardcore sweat.

Great portable productivity/gaming laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this gaming laptop to replace my 2020 model G14, which had the 4th gen Ryzen 9 4900H and an RTX 2060-MaxQ. Coming from that device to this, there are a few notable quality of life improvements with the newer model. First up is the display - going to 16:10 aspect ratio makes this much more usable for productivity tasks, such as editing documents side by side. The overall laptop is the same size, but the screen feels much larger. The screen on this model also gets much brighter (200 nits higher peak brightness compared to the 2020 model) which makes this easier to see in brighter rooms or when outside. Another improvement over the old model is the addition of a webcam. I am using this device for school and for gaming on the go, and the added webcam, though only 720p, is more than capable for attending zoom classes. Its also nice that it supports windows hello, and seems very responsive to log in quickly. The fingerprint reader on the old model was hit or miss for me, and the windows hello webcam on the new model is much more reliable in getting me logged in quickly. Battery life seems to be similar to the older model to me when using for productivity, and I am very happy with what I have been getting out of the device. I have not tried gaming on battery power, so I cannot comment on battery life for gaming, but when doing productivity work, I have been able to get close to 8 hours on average with the laptop set to silent mode. The keyboard backlighting leaves some room for improvement, but is better than the 2020 model, as at least the lighting is consistent in its brightness compared to the old. However, it is pretty dim when in a brighter room, so I tend to leave it turned off unless I am in a dark space where it is more effective. The RGB addition is a nice feature for the backlighting. Gaming performance from the 6700s GPU is pretty solid. I have backed my game settings to high at 1440p and have been able to get 60+ FPS in the games I have played so far, like Forza Horizon 5. This laptop isn't too noisy when you have it set to performance mode while gaming, considering the graphics its able to push, but it definitely gets warm. I would recommend gaming with the laptop on a table and not directly on your lap. Overall, I am very happy with this laptop and feel that the added quality of life improvements warranted the upgrade for me over the 2020 model, and would recommend this to anyone looking for a slim, relatively light weight gaming laptop.

Efficient Gaming Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Pros: - Good display, full 100% Adobe RGB , and bright enough for outdoor use plus quick response times for gaming. - Great Keyboard - Very smooth touchpad - Manual Fan control is great - Mux switch - USB-C charging, It's even possible to game on the USB-C power alone which is unique for a gaming laptop. This is possible because the armory crate software lets you set the Laptops total TDP so you can configure the laptop to use 60-to 70w and easily stay under the max 100W USB C limit. - 8GB of VRAM is good to have for future games - Good performance from the Ryzen 9 6900HS - Upgradable Ram - The white color hides fingerprints well - The whole laptop feels solid My Cons: - The Display is good but it could have been great if the black levels and contrast were higher. I tested both and mine had just over 1000:1 contrast and black levels were a bit over 0.40 at max brightness. - Ran very hot for me (My open box one had issues like the fans sometimes wouldn't come on so it could have been worse for me than a brand new laptop) - No function lock, so you'll have to always hold down the function key to adjust certain things like brightness. - For some reason the laptop would shut down after a few minutes when I was plugged into an external model with the laptop lid closed. The thermals were great in the stand I placed it in ( I checked) and I disabled anything that would sleep or hibernate the PC when the lid was closed. ( Again this might be because my open box was not good) I did end up returning my open box laptop for some of the cons I mentioned above. I still recommend the laptop just make sure you fully test the open box ones if you go in that direction. In a few months I might try again with a brand new one if the prices go down close to what I paid for the open box excellent.

Awesome value!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price, the laptop is a good value. I was able to play Cyberpunk 2077 within reasonable quality (1080p) and the game performed wonderfully. I'm the type where 1080p gaming is fine, but the laptop is future-proofed where I think it will do fine if I bump things up to a higher resolution. The fans do get loud, so I would advise visiting some forums or YouTube videos on how to do some tweaks. The weight and size makes the laptop very portable. The laptop is a mix of plastic and metal, at times the keyboard and trackpad can feel a bit cheap. But then again, I kept this laptop plugged to an external monitor and used my own accessories. What I like most is the weight and size. With a 14 inch screen, this laptop is so easy to carry around. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase. I think it's best to get this on sale

Perfect for work and travel
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.for my use case, this laptop is a must-have for budget and portability. I only need this while traveling so its a great Pros: - Thin and light (Portability) - Battery life - Speed - Screen quality and resolution - Mousepad - keyboard Cons: - Only white color option (I do like the darker option) - Fan noise*** (I mostly used it on silent mode and still runs great, so It's not actually an issue for me) - Kind of big power brick, I just hope they can make it smaller so it would be a total portability monster.

Great Travel Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This powerful 14 inch laptop can both play games at medium settings at 60 frames per second and output to a television perfectly. This is like having a game console in the form factor of a 14 inch laptop. Upgrading your RAM is a must if you do any sort of multitasking, but it is relatively inexpensive and easy to do. Battery life is pretty standard for a laptop at maybe about an hour running at max settings, but the draw is the ability to bring this to another place, during travel and plug it in.

Excellent buy with minor complaints
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop, it performs for midrange games just fine and I found a lot of additional products from ASUS that works well with it when plugged into a larger system. I got the item in an open box deal and feel like it was very well worth the price. My only issue is how hot it gets on the sides (where the vent are) when it is being used for long times. Overall it was a good buy and i think it will last a long time. pros- battery life is very good for a gaming laptop the screen is beautiful processor and ssd make tasking seem very quick design is wonderful and sturdy cons - runs a little hot when in use, especially under load ASUS got a little heavy on pushing their bloatware

Great Gaming Laptop But Runs Hot
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a awesome little gaming laptop, that packs a lot of punch. It's small enough to fit any backpack and has a nice material feel to it. The only major issue it has is that it overheats a ton, mostly due to the liquid metal that's applied in factory. I would recommend to clean it out and applying some high quality thermal paste. Be careful to not get any of the liquid metal on motherboard as it could lead to potential damage due to its electrical conductivity. However it will help drop the temperature down around 15 degrees Celsius. I would also undervolt the GPU and the Ryzen 9 CPU as it tends to run pretty hot. Another issue is the battery, since I had to replace it pretty early on. Overall It's pretty solid for what it is. A few fixes/maintenance repairs and it runs great afterward.

G14 came defectives
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My unit came with a windows problem that not even the geek squad could fix. I ended up buying the model with 32gb of ram and a 6800 instead for the same proce but the 6700 is still a pretty good deal with a nice build quality and looks, weak rgb lighting on the keyboard but not a deal breaker. Pretty good battery life for a gaming laptop and the performance is pretty good too tho it gets a bit hot and loud. Favorite 14 inch out right now

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this laptop. Second one I have purchased it total. Performance is great on AAA games but gets Hot Hot Hot!. I recommend a chill mat or giving is plenty of ventilation while gaming. Impressed with battery life when not gaming and I use it as my daily PC for on the go. Wish both Ram sticks were upgradable but 16 is good enough for me at this time. Texture is great for keeping fingerprints off. Feels very premium to use. Would buy again again.

Amazingly Powerful and almost perfect
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the pleasure of using the Asus G14 with Risen 9 and 6700S everyday for the past week and I am truly amazed by its performance and it is quickly becoming my favorite go to laptop for gaming and productivity. It is so lightweight, and the build quality is very premium. It definitely looks and feels like a classy high end laptop. The 14" screen is 16x10 ratio and is beautiful and vibrant. Color saturation and contrast is excellent and every game I have played on it looks great. I believe the screen covers 100% of the SRGB color spectrum so It will also be great for photo and video editing. The screen has an antiglare matte coating and it helps when gaming under a bright light or by a window during the day. The screen is calibrated very nicely at its default setting and I chose to leave it at that for everything I do with the laptop. The screen has small bezels and makes it feel larger than 14". It is quite immersive for such a small laptop. I like gaming on the couch or bed with the machine propped up on a cooling pad on my lap. I did notice a little bit of screen tearing at over 100 fps on Rocket League, but it didn't turn me off. It does have a V Sync option but I always choose to leave it off to reduce input lag and latency. Response time is very fast, 3 ms if Im not mistaken. You should have no issue playing fast paced shooting, racing and fighting games with this machine. The keyboard is also very good. It has good travel, and the keys are very tactile. The RGB backlight is a bit of a disappointment because it isn't very bright and it makes the keys a little harder to read. I only use them in dark rooms or at night, I turn them off If I am going to be typing a lot. The track pad is huge and very smooth. I don't use it to game, I always plug in a mouse or use a wireless controller. But I'm going to go ahead and say that the trackpad on this machine rivals the trackpad on a MacBook Pro. It feels so nice and smooth, is very responsive and clicks are tactile. It feels like glass, but may be metal. Battery life is very good for its size. I got a little under 2 hours when gaming on battery, and probably about 6-8 hours when just doing day to day tasks and watching online content. Asus says you can get 10 hours or more if you set it in eco mode. I just leave it in standard mode. I usually leave it plugged in anyway, because I am most likely going to game when I use it, and I want the max performance out of the CPU and GPU. The laptop does run a little warm, I would definitely recommend getting some type of heat dissipating pad if you plan on having it on your lap when gaming. The keyboard stays relatively cool to the touch while gaming though. Do I still have your attention? Alright lets talk gaming. I installed Resident Evil 2 remake, Fortnite, Rocket League, Destiny 2, Halo Infinite, Ultra Street Fighter V and Genshin Impact. Almost every game has run flawlessly at 60 -120 fps when in 2500x1600 resolution. Some games even ran at higher than 200 fps at 2500x1600. Destiny 2 for some reason refuses to launch and keeps crashing, and Fortnite seems to hover between 35 and 60 FPS. It did frustrate me a little bit to see these two games struggle to run on the machine, especially Fortnite. Even when I lowered the resolution to 1080P, it would not go above 60fps. So strange! But perhaps with some future firmware and or software updates they will be fixed and run better. I think its safe to say that you will not have many issues playing older, current and future games with this machine. I did have some trouble with the AMD software, I cannot for the life of me find how to update the drivers with the AMD Radeon app, and when I ran the auto detect and install tool, it would not let me install new optional drivers. Would I recommend this laptop to play games on? For sure! Unless you want a bigger screen. But if you plan on carrying this thing with you everywhere, you are going to love how powerful this small laptop is. You'll be impressed by how beautiful and smoothly most games look and run on it. Asus has designed a mind blowing laptop, AMD just needs to work on the Radeon Drivers a bit and smooth out some of the hiccups I've encountered with some games. Pros: Very Light, Elegant Modern Design. Beautiful Screen, Powerful CPU and GPU Loud Speakers, can run many games at 2500x1600 and 120 fps. Cons: Gets pretty warm, fans are loudish. I didn't think the Radeon software is very user friendly and needs some driver updates for certain games.

Amazing gaming and productivity laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Summary: This laptop is outstanding! Fast performance, great for gaming, amazing display, above average speakers, an awesome keyboard and trackpad, windows hello camera and great looks! Unboxing: The unboxing experience is fun. The outer box has fun to read messages and warnings about how great ROG is. When you open the box, the construction of the package lifts the laptop up at an angle to present it to you. There is not much else inside the box other than some simple documentation, the AC adapter (240 Watts) and the laptop. The device looks amazing! The ROG panel on the front is a somewhat rainbow shimmer and the “dots” on the front do not include LEDs on this model but also reflect a rainbow type light when hit directly with light. Opening the screen exposes a great feeling keyboard and glass trackpad. Setup: The laptop needs to charge a bit before it will boot. It took about 10 minutes of charging before mine would boot the first time. Setup of Windows 11 is quick. I installed updates in the Windows Store as well as System updates. Bloatware is minimal but mainly consists of the ASUS Armoury Crate software for editing game profiles and keyboard lighting effects. Benchmarks: This thing is a beast! Supporting many new AMD 6000 series features such as PCI Express 4, DDR5, and more it runs buttery smooth in almost everything I threw at it. I attached some pictures of benchmarks but most games ran 60+ fps at 1920x1200 resolution. I played Doom Eternal with Ray Tracing at 70FPS highest settings at that resolution. If I up the resolution and turn off ray tracing, I can play at 60fps at 2560x1600 or 100fps at 1920x1200. 3DMark Wildlife extreme: 8816 3DMark Wildlife extreme unlimited: 13901 3DMark Timespy: 7170 Cinebench: 14425 Geekbench Single Core: 1514 Geekbench Multi Core: 8292 Geekbench Compute OpenCL: 76856 Geekbench Compute Vulkan: 45071 Crystaldiskmark: Read 3591 / Write 3444 Wow! Great scores, the GPU is slower than a 3070 mobile but still outstanding for most games. Storage is outstanding and I will enjoy the speed with photography Lightroom edits. Screen: This is another win. It is a 16:10 aspect ratio which I find a little strange for gaming since the resolutions are not traditional 1080/4k but it is great for reading or coding. The screen also bends back slightly more than 180 degrees if that matters to you. The screen gets bright. Very bright. Color reproduction is spot on and photographers will love this high resolution monitor. The only thing it does not do is HDR. Audio: I enjoy the speakers. They are some of the best Windows speakers I have heard as it is very hard to find a Windows laptop with good speakers. They are clear and loud. Bass is good but not mind blowing. The quad speakers work well for music, podcasts and audiobooks. There is also a headphone jack on the left side. Connectivity: There are two USB-C ports, one on each side. The right side also has 2 USB-A 3.2 ports and a micro SD slot. The left side has an HDMI port and the power port as well. You can charge via USB-C but I would not game with that since the power draw would be too high. Heat: The unit runs hot. I discovered the hard way that you should not play with the laptop so long as it sits on the couch. It appears to draw air from the bottom of the unit (since it is slightly elevated) and pushes it out the sides. Make sure there is decent room underneath. Normally the unit runs quiet until you start to game. The fans are not too loud though. Inputs: The keyboard and trackpad are greatly above average. The keyboard is easy to type on and I had little errors writing this review on it. The trackpad is large and made of glass and feels premium and accurate. Summary: This laptop is outstanding value and highly portable. It looks amazing and has high performance. Though I like it for gaming, I will likely use it for other tasks such as photo editing, coding and listening to music since it seems to be purpose built for all those tasks! An amazing laptop!

The color is fine, though I'd prefer the gray!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this computer a lot. It's not perfect, but I got it on sale for $999 ($650 off MSRP), and I feel I got a lot of hardware for that price. The keyboard is phenomenal and the temperatures are fine when you set the machine to Eco and silent through the Armory Crate software. It does get hot under standard GPU settings or higher when gaming or when airflow is an issue, and can get hot on the legs if you actually try to use it as a laptop with the GPU running. I get around this because I have a docking station with external mouse, keyboard, and monitor setup in my office, and then use a cooling pad (rarely actually connected, just to get the heat off my legs) when I use it as a laptop. Overall, a powerful machine and the 6700s plays most anything I want at pretty good settings. The screen is bright and beautiful, battery life for productivity is okay (it's no Macbook, though), and the machine feels sturdy enough. I replaced the SSD with a 2tb SSD and it was easy enough if you find tutorials online. A good buy, on sale, or maybe go with a new model with an NVIDIA card if you are paying full price.

Portable & Very Compact
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Reviewed by a Gamer: After owning a few laptops over the years. My favorite being this years Zephyrus 16 ( m16 2022 model) for its vibrant screen & rtx 3070ti ( made it a powerhouse. Anyways this review is for the g14 ( 2022) Where to start? This laptop handles all the latest Games I throw at it, in Native or 1080p Resolution. Its also the perfect portable size for on the go gaming & its very light. Of course just like every Gaming laptop out there it gets Hot? But I wouldnt use it on my lap. When on battery & not gaming it can last you between 8-10hours deoending on what youre using it for ( Video or writing an essay). Handles VR Amazingly Well Comes with a crappy 720p webcam, I wouldnt use it for discord calls. Cons: it doesnt come preinstalled with AMD Adrenaline software which helps keep your GPU & other Drivers up to date when needing to play the latest titles. Youll have to download that important feature from the AMD website. Rembwe that when looking into purchasing the g14 ( to download that software right away. Itll help a ton with gaming, without that software my games lagged so much, afterwards it ran my games very well. Another Con, the Keyboard may be my favorite in comfort, but I dislike the aesthetic it gives off this blue hue metalic finish when moving my head side to side. I got used to it by now though. This is still the perfect laptop for on the Go Gaming, extremely light to carry around. The screen is beautiful. Its basically the zephyrus 16 in a smaller more compact form factor.
