However, if you need or prefer a laptop of this size (similar dimension and weight as my 2014 macbook pro), and wanted to play some games on the go, this is the best option on the market. Plus the keyboard is comfortable, and the screen is comparable to a macbook but with higher refresh rate

I was sad that whenever I was using the laptop in use, it automatically restarts. I tried EVERYTHING to fix it and I am confident that it’s something within the laptop and not a software issue. Whenever I opened a tab, it restarts every 5 minutes. This happened the day I first opened straight out of the box. Now I am returning it and a buying a RTX model instead. Also, when I plugged in and out the charger, the screen turns black for 1 sec and then turns on.

Odd quality control

Also had a defect and had to send it in for repair. Something about Asus quality control has gone down. It is ridiculous that it gets so hot. Mine also had a weird GPU defect and had to send it in within only a couple months. Hopefully in the future they fix these things.

This puppy can handle anything thrown at it from games to CAD and Solidworks. Unlike other laptops, it has exceptional battery life, probably the best you can find.

But that is in my expectation. So get a cooler stand for laptop or/and use a wireless keyboard. It will help

I’m a sucker for white tech. I gave my son, who needed pc part upgrades, my desktop and side graded to this laptop. Im not a fan of the top covered in holes since it does not have the animatrix feature anyway. Also the backlit is pretty bad even compared to my first laptops from early to mid 2000s. It’s uneven and weak. The sound is also very low on max even when I enable Dolby audio boosting features. The software could also use improvement. I’d love if they automatically download the updates themselves and delete the download files when completing install. I love the aesthetics of the laptop, so far thermals are better than I’ve read others have. But I use my laptop on a slanted mesh stand and when on my lap that stand is placed on a holed board of bamboo. For an example, playing WoW WotLK temps are in the 60s at level 7 graphic preset. Happy with my choice and hope it lasts me for years to come.
