||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I've heard a lot about these computers. As far as portable and powerful goes, this thing hands down wins. Its performance is better than my 15.6 2070 razer. What totally ruined it for me though, is the thermals. The GPU had alright thermals, hovering around 80-85 degrees Celsius (for long-term use, dont want any higher than 85). The CPU, however, would get up to 93 degrees Celsius when gaming. You can use the armory crate application thats installed to manage the temperature a little bit, but any drastic change in the temperature would cause a severe drop on performace. I've tried to exchange and test a second one, but it was the same result. Unfortunately ill be returning this device and looking for something else.

Posted .Dear Connor,
Thank you for your comment.
We do understand your concern about thermal issues. It is normal for the laptop, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially during gaming, WINDOWS Update and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please check that no resource hungry applications, services or processed are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down.

Don't purchase
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop stopped working within 8 months and ASUS says the issue isn't under the manufacturer's warranty so it will cost $1,100 to fix (bought it for about $1,500). The screen stopped working, the bottom piece is plastic instead of metal like previous versions and the bottom has cracked in a couple of spots, and sometimes the keyboard keeps typing a certain key. I found a Reddit thread with others having the issue of the screen not turning on and they believe it might be an issue with sleep/hibernation on the laptop (which I had just changed before the laptop stopped working) and others were able to get it fixed under manufacture's warranty so I'm not sure why they're charging me.

Screen brightness different between two models
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just compared my 6800S to a brand new 6700S model. The screen on my model seems darker than that on the 6700S model. Can't even send it for exchange now since it's already out of stock. Might have to return it and wait for a new one or just buy a different brand

Nice quality great performer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a great improvement over my previous I5 laptop. Beautiful graphics and very fast. I haven't really used it extensively, but it loads and runs Minecraft ATM8 with shaders perfectly. I have a fairly mature world and it has no problems loading or playing.

Light Gaming Laptop for on the Go
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a small form factor, light laptop it makes an acceptable gaming/workstation machine for those on the go. Just the right size and weight to throw into a bag and carry it without noticing, it also looks good in white and has enough power to be a decent on the go machine. The feel and keyboard are great. Feels solid and compact. Typing on the keyboard and keys is good and even when running didn't seem to get too hot the desk for gaming.Running 3DMark Timespy I got acceptable results for the device, scoring 8749 on Regular Timespy. Loading Forza Horizon 5 on the laptop and playing it was vibrate and fun and had no issues for a decent play session. My only real complaint is the board has 8GB of DDR5 RAM Soldered onto it, meaning you can only swap one DIMM out. Wish both were exposed and instead of a Realtek Wireless Nic they used Intel, but still this is a capable machine with a good CPU and nice preem look. It has decent I/O connections on it that where well placed and overall the package was good. Only downside is Windows 11, but that isn't ASUS Fault that is Microsoft's. Overall if you are looking for a decent light cool looking laptop for gaming on the go check this one out.

Great option for the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great option especially for the price i got it for at $1200 on sale. Screen looks amazing! Very fast response to everything i do. 120hz refresh rate more then enough even when gaming its buttery smooth. Not to mention its just overall a beautiful looking laptop especially the rgb keyboard which really pops in dark settings.

Extremely portable gaming laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had both desktops and laptops, though obviously laptops are great if you travel a lot or need to move your computer around your house or office. This ASUS gaming laptop is a good combination of power and portability. It's a 14-inch laptop, so pretty small. It's 12 1/2 inches wide and 9 inches deep. The screen does measure 14 inches and is very bright and clear. The laptop keyboard is good, it's got a dedicated power button, as well as volume and microphone controls that are easy to use while doing other tasks. For such a small laptop it's got a decent sized keyboard and the touchpad is quite large. It comes with Windows 11 64-bit, with a 1 TB solid-state hard drive, making it quick to start and quick to respond when you open programs. It's got 16GB of RAM, an AMD processor and an AMD graphics processor. Setting it up was easy, just start it up and start putting in your information so the computer recognizes you. Add whatever programs you want and you're ready to go. There's not a lot of bloatware, which is good. It does not come with a separate anti-virus program or security software (just the programs Microsoft includes), so if you want something different you'll have to install that yourself. Because it's a gaming computer, it's got programs so you can customize the laptop's lighting scheme and gaming options (Armoury Crate and Aura Creator). I installed my Steam account and played some games (Borderlands 3 and Left 4 Dead 2). The laptop handled both games well, no lag or difficulties. I installed PassMark, a benchmarking program to see how the laptop performed on various tests. Overall the laptop scored in the 70th percentile, but in the CPU and Disk tests, it was in the 90th percentile, showing the laptop has good processing and storage response. It may not play bleeding-edge games with all options at maximum, but it should provide a solid gaming experience. Traveling with this laptop would be easy, since it only weighs 3.6 pounds. It's got lots of ports, an HDMI port for hooking up to a monitor or TV, a headphone jack, two legacy USB ports and two USB-C (newer) ports. Even though the speakers are small, they sound pretty good for built-in laptop speakers. You can use Bluetooth headphones or wired headphones, since there's a headphone jack. I did notice that depending what surface you put the laptop on, it can get hot (true of most laptops). Putting it on a flat, solid surface (table, desk) with no ventilation of any sort can make it get pretty warm. I've got a ventilated laptop stand for when it's on my desk and when it's in my lap I just keep my legs apart so there's plenty of air circulating.

ONLY 8GB on-board RAM!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.BEWARE! BEWARE!! BEWARE!!!... This is *NOT* the GA402RK model as described on the ASUS product page! Whereas the ASUS product page clearly indicates: "Memory: 16GB DDR5 on board 16GB DDR5-4800 SO-DIMM Max Capacity : 32GB Support dual channel memory" This model has only 8GB of Single-Channel RAM on-board! This is *NOT* the 16GB on-board RAM model! ASUS does *NOT* have a GA402RK model that comes with only 8GB on-board RAM! Therefore: This model does NOT have 16GB on-board RAM! You can NOT upgrade to 32GB, as described on the manufacturer's product page! You can NOT benefit from Dual-Channel bandwidth if you upgrade the RAM (the system will slow down to only Single-Channel mode and speed)! The maximum RAM you can put in the available slot is 16GB, which, along with the 8GB on-board RAM, would result in total 24GB of *Single-Channel* (slower) RAM! So, repeating; - The system comes with ONLY *8GB* on-board RAM! - You can *NOT* upgrade to 32GB as described by ASUS! - You will *LOSE* Dual-Channel memory speed if you upgrade the RAM! Please beware!
