Excellent laptop gaming pc. Speakers are nice and work fine. The display is sharp even at 1080p setting. Powerful for gaming, video and everyday tasks. The computer can run really hot at the top front of the computer near the air outtakes which also seems to push air towards the display. Just be aware of that when touching those areas. Otherwise, it will kick in the fans and also knows when to sleep to help with the cooling. Decent battery life but like I said it can get hot at times. Overall, a top notch gaming laptop. Is it perfect? Nope. But it does hold good value. Talk to me in a year or two and hopefully, I’ll still be happy with this purchase. As of today, I am.

Needed a gaming laptop for work, video editing, and video gaming. I've had this laptop for a year, and it hasn't let me down. It runs current games flawlessly - I've been playing BG3 on it and switching off to my Rog Ally on the go. Also runs the Sims 4 well. The display is crisp and easy to look at, and I use it just as much as my primary (much older and less graphically capable) desktop. I can't complain about it at all. I use this laptop for nearly everything and it has handled everything I've thrown at it, from running Adobe Premiere Pro and Illustrator to gaming to multiple tabs open in a work setting.

Exceeded my expectations, after a few minor bumps

I am truly impressed by the power of this laptop. I bought it to take the place of my desktop machine. I'll be on the road soon and need something that can handle both 3D design/animation and video production. This laptop can handle it easily. High-poly 3d models in 3dsmax and complex scenes in UE4 are no problem. After Effects and Premiere 4k video editing are smooth. The real test...gaming at 1440p. I was sure this would be a problem, but again, it seems to power through no problem. First game I booted up was Destiny 2, and at high/highest settings at 100% rendering, I was getting 90-110 fps while in combat. Just be sure to turn off (or set to auto) the battery saving iGPU performance options. These were turned on by default and will negatively affect gaming even when plugged in. That all said, I almost returned this laptop. When I first got it, I was immediately depressed at how washed out and dull the screen was. The speakers seemed terrible too, with max volume barely able to be heard over the dishwasher. Fortunately, I refused to accept the Asus would put out something this bad, and after a few minutes, was able to fix it. The first thing you should do when you get the laptop is to install the Nvidia graphics drivers, run screen calibration (or choose from the preset options in the MyAsus/Armoury Crate software) and set your audio to "dynamic" in the dolby atmos spatial sound settings. Done....screen looks great, and speakers are now loud enough that I can lower them to 50%. They sound great too. not apple great, but better than any other windows-based laptop I've seen. Anyways, this is by far best cost-to-performance ratio I have found for a laptop, and the Asus software experience is a solid plus, too. I highly recommend it.

This laptop is a freaking beast. The processor and GPU are powerful, battery life is pretty good, the screen is great. The case itself is sleek, understated, and well designed. I've used it for months now and gosh, I love this thing. It's expensive, no doubt, but I was able to justify that with myself. If you're doing something demanding you can't really put it in your lap, it gets hot, but that's how these things go.

I was considering the XPS 15 and the Flow x13 along with this laptop, but this one ultimately won out for me because it's only a pound heavier than the Flow x13 while packing a 3070 over a 3050ti, and it's actually lighter than the XPS 15 while again having a 3070 over 3050 ti. So when this thing is on sale for 1500 bucks, it's a real no brainer if you are willing to sacrifice a bit of portability or professional-ness for a lot more performance. Especially in this economy, where buying a similar grade custom or prebuilt PC is actually more expensive when you factor in the screen, keyboard, and trackpad.

Obviously it being a laptop the con is a bit of heat and fan sound but the gameplay is fantastic and I have no issues running anything at all. My only issue is spotify getting lowered during gameplay but it's probably just me not finding the setting. Laptop is slim and isn't really as heavy as I thought. Good purchase imo.

The third ASUS I had to return for QC issues

This is the third ASUS I've purchased and had to return due to quality control issues. The first was a G14 that had busted sounding speakers, then the M16 that had major display issues, and now this G15 that had the same busted sounding speakers. And if you look on Reddit I'm clearly not the only person complaining about these type of issues. Sadly, I had to return the laptop as Best Buy had none in stock to replace mine with. The laptop itself was wonderful otherwise. It's fast, build quality is good, and I had no issues with any game I played on it. The display seemed kinda meh when dealing with text and documents, but when gaming the colors looked great. Other than that and the speaker issue I don't really have anything bad to say about this laptop at all. Just make sure you check yours out right away for QC issues, because plenty of people are having them.

Good build quality. It runs great. However, the speakers really take some fussing with. I had to do some research online and find some equalizer settings to keep the bass from crackling and sounding like the speakers were blown out. Still get it sometimes, so not sure it this is hardware related as well. Lots of complaints about this from what I saw.

This laptop is excellent in performance and battery life. When I first opened the laptop I saw colors on a screen I’ve never seen before, everything was so vibrant it almost hurt. My unit has no popping noises on the speakers, or the flickering problem. Only problem was that after a clean install after a problem my armoury crate didn’t detect the keyboard for aura sync, but they are working on a fix. I can still change the color so it’s alright. It’s very light and I get as much FPS as a 2080 desktop! The only defect it has is 2 keycaps are slanted to each other, but I can live with that. Overall, great laptop to carry around

I received this laptop in the mail yesterday and was quite thrilled to switch into the world of AMD laptop CPUS. Upon unboxing this laptop, I was met with the a great unboxing experience I had not experienced in my previous razer blade 15". After set up, I was amazed by the performance of this machine. I immediately decided to update all drivers, software, and bios to quickly benchmark the machine. To my amazement, it was slightly more powerful than my desktop i9 9900, scoring a multi-core score of 7700 on geekbench. Then, running a gpu benchmark, it scores slightly more than a desktop 2080 super; what sorcery is this!? It's an 80 watt TDP GPU, with apparently great power delivery and thermals to not bottleneck. The amount of power crammed into this laptop is amazing, especially for the price point. The build is nice, with a magnesium chassis, and a plastic bottom cover. The other nice thing design-wise that captures my attention is that when you open the laptop, the hinge angles the laptop allowing for more cooling airflow. The keyboard has a nice click to it, with a great trackpad. The ASUS ROG software is also easy to use, might be a little slow, but nothing that can't be fixed through a software update. The other thing that I love aswell which is an incredibly convient thing, is that the USB C ports can charge the laptop, and the laptop will just lower the overall computer power usage. This means, when I am on the go, I can charge my laptop with a USB-C cable, allowing for the simplicity of only bring one charger with my to charge all my things (besides iphone :/). You might ask, after all this praise, why only 4 stars. Well... there are some corners that are cut, and a few minor inconviences, possibly in order to achieve this price point that are not the most optimal in today's context. The first one that is a pretty major hiccup as an engineering student is the lack of a webcam. For classes and meetings through zoom, this means I now have to carry an external webcam around with me, which is a tad annoying. The next annoyance is the horrible speaker quality. Not an incredible issue, but slightly annoying. While I do plan on wearing a pair of nice Hi-Fidelity IEMs (ear buds) while using my computer, there is another issue with this: the computer's onboard sound card is not that great either, meaning not only does a pair of 20 ohm impedance (for none audiphiles, my phone has a louder sound output with the lightning adapter) IEMs not sound as good as they should, but the volume does not get very loud. This means if I ever want great sound quality, I will need to plug in my portable amp/dac aswell. This is not an issue for most people, I understand, but it another minor inconvience for me personally. Besides this, the display is great, with good detail and color accuracy, but for the range that the hing folds, the viewing angles is mediocre at best. The next minor thing, but for someone who uses a lot of storage is concerning aswell, is the NVME screws on the motherboard, let me explain. When I got the laptop, something that excited me was that the laptop has a second NVME SSD slot, which means I could expand the storage by another 1 or 2 terabytes. Upon unscrewing the laptop to insert the second drive, there was a slight issue--- the socket where I put the screw in already had a screw there that I could use, which is a major convinience. However, this screw was tightended to tightly into the screw socket, that I was not able to take out this screw to place the NVME ssd in it. Instead, I needed to use electrical tape, and tape down the NVME SSD, so it is not sprung up, touching the backplate of the laptop. Even if I try and add an extreme amount of pressure to take out the NVME screw, the motherboard on that part has nothing on the underside, meaning that I risk bending and snapping the board. Besides these issues that most people will see as minor, and are mostly minor to me aswell, I am really enjoying this laptop. I do not have a say on the battery life, nor do I care all that much since the estimator was giving me an estimate 4 hours which is the same that I was getting on my old laptop. This laptop runs solidworks beautifully, with no hiccups, and does everything I need it to do, with extreme speed, and excelling cooling aswell, meaning that my palms do not burn when using it. In conclusion, if you do not care about sound crisp sound quality, or having a webcam for zoom meetings and classes, then this laptop is for you.

It is fast. - Fast to type on with a great keyboard (this is sooooo important) - Fast in games It is also flexible. - I switch between silent and turbo performance profiles. Silent is very quiet. I use turbo for gaming. - It benchmarks higher than a premium desktop that I built 18 months ago. - Speaker sound is great. - Lots of ports (wish it had a full size SD card slot though) My wife is a photographer and after seeing her pics on my laptop, said that it was a good reference screen for colors, and loved the keyboard and trackpad. And then she asked me to order one for her as well.

Best performing laptop I've ever seen! Things are lightening quick. Great io, awesome 165hz screen. Great keyboard and super smooth track pad (aided by that super fast screen) Only reason I could not give this thing a perfect score is the lack of a webcam and a less than perfect fingerprint scanner.

I had to give this a 3 star due to the fact that the 3070 is a lower watt one. The screen is excellent, but for the price there is now front facing camera, hence the other missing star. The game play is very intuitive and the keyboard feels good. But I have a 2070 laptop that I was upgrading from and am not sure if this is worth the upgrade yet. The qhd display is very bright and clear. I do some renderings when I have to and the colors are very vibrant. Battery life if very good when not gaming, when gaming it needs to be plugged in of course to utilize all the power of the gpu. The ryzen 9 pretty much does what it is supposed to which is great for multitaskers. make sure to go into system configuration and turn on all the threads.

You cannot beat this price for what you get, an amazingly lightweight but powerful machine. The display is incredible. This would be a five star review if it weren't for some minor growing pains with the system. The software updates have been rather frustrating and there seems to be quality control issues with the laptop. It can easily overheat if you don't change certain settings like turbo boost. Read reddit threads for more information on that before you buy. Overall I don't regret my purchase at all, even with disabling turbo boost. The system is on desktop level gaming performance with a price that cannot be beat. The keyboard is great as is the touchpad. I play Overwatch, Cyberpunk 2077 and other games with amazing results. Oh have a mentioned how impressive the display is? Everything on the system is new hardware so you feel like you're getting a top of the line product. Work through the minor problems and you'll have a great productivity and gaming machine at your disposal.
