Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the excellent performance, impressive build quality, and long battery life of the ROG Zephyrus 15.6" QHD Gaming Laptop. Many also praise its powerful GPU, lightweight design, and vibrant display, along with the keyboard. However, some users mention that the laptop can get hot, and the fan noise can be noticeable. Other criticisms include the soldered RAM, less-than-stellar speakers, and the absence of a built-in webcam.

Solid. No overt issues aside from it coming with 8gb soldered RAM on the motherboard instead of 16gb with an empty slot for upgrading. But it is what it is in that regard. This beast is able to play pretty much any modern game I throw at it on ultra settings. An amazing option in a world where getting a video card is nigh impossible.

    - Display is really good, could be brighter but it's not bad. - 8GB soldered on RAM is a disappointment for the price of this. - The CPU and GPU are on another level. Most AAA games will run above 60fps especially older titles. Has no issues hitting triple-digit fps in most other games. - Chassis is sold, metal lid and bottom feel nice and the plastic body feel nice and doesn't flex. - My wifi chip is already faulty. Not sure if this is a driver issues or a hardware issue but after reinstalling the driver and re-flashing the BIOS it still cannot stay active for more than 10 minutes after boot. It keeps disabling itself. I will change my review once my replacement arrive if there are no issues.

What else can you ask for? High end Ryzen 9, PCIE gen 4 compatible, with a 3070 for 1700$? That's a steal! Plus, with it's upgradeability, and ease of enhancement, this laptop is a no brainer for me. Spend a bit more and get the 3080 version and you my friend have a beast of a laptop! Use a cooling pad for overheating issues, and you're good to go! Nice sturdy chassis and sleek and gamerish but not too much so that you can't bring it to work. Cyberpunk on Psycho settings runs perfect. Highly recommend. Best bang for your buck for a brand name Laptop.

Great laptop definitely the best on the market to date for quality, performance, and battery life. Definitely would recommend. The only negative is no webcam, but i can easily look past that.

This has been a good laptop for our needs. The only problem we have had is that the fingerprint option only worked for a short time and then wouldn't recognize our print anymore, but we can still get in through our pin and really have no issues. We do not use this for gaming.

This thing is super fast. It has a great fast screen that is bright enough to use in direct sunlight. To 3070 graphics card is for real. The AMDCPU is really really fast. Keyboard is sturdy and feels good. Trackpad is pretty big and very precise. Speakers sound really good even for a laptop. I love that I can take this anywhere and play AAA titles. Also great for doing a bit of development here and there. This laptop looks great. The shimmery dots on the back of the screen are cool.

This laptop is really a great buy for the price. A major issue to shine a light on is out-of-the-box performance. It can be lackluster to someone expecting a high-end experience from what should a high-end laptop. It is not until you begin researching how to optimize the machine where you begin to really appreciate all it has to offer. Once optimized, you will have a machine that does just about everything well. I will compare what to expect out of the box vs. After doing research on optimizing: Out of the box: - Runs hot - GPU performance not peaking - Tedious updating (To solve weird issues) - CPU boost fluctuations Optimizations: - Cooler Temps - Maximum GPU performance - Longer battery life - All features working properly. Last thing to note and this is a major one: There is an unsolved issue with closing the lid not activating sleep with this computer. ASUS has failed to fix this issue and there has been no word on a fix any time soon. I want to say this as this may be a dealbreaker for someone who is always on the go and cannot afford to shut off their computer. Anyways - A great PC but a competent PC user will get the most out of this.

While this worked, it worked great. I bought it for my home office and to play World of Warcraft with the family. There were some funky issues like the integrated HDMI port not running off the RTX 3070, so I had to use a USB-C adapter to get my external monitor driven by the selling point of the laptop. However, there would occasionally be an issue where the fans would go into turbo mode for no reason (on startup, never go down). Now, it can't even get past the boot screen if any accessories are plugged into the ports and even when it does, it won't go to the login screen. So, started out great, loved it, but now it's a stinker.

This laptop was and remains one of the best laptops of the moment. With the insane number of head pipes, it remains one of the best-cooled laptops. The battery is quite good, as long as the dGPU is turned off. The fingerprint reader is fast and the speakers are average at best. The screen is great and 1440p is excellent for productivity and the 165 Hz refresh rate is suitable for games. The CPU is top-of-the-line and works well for virtualization and programming. The only downside o this laptop is 8Gb of ram is soldered, and it has no webcam. Overall this laptop is excellent and well worth the money,

Bought open box and was very happy with my purchase. Runs games on ultra settings with no issues, picture quality is great, and it's extremely fast. Amazing deal for the price. I did have a few dead pixels show up randomly after a month, but Best Buy took care of the repair under warranty free of charge in under a week. Dropped off on a Sunday and back in my hands the next Wednesday with a new screen. Very pleased!

This laptop performs extremely well in almost every task thrown at it. My main use for this laptop is daily multi-tasking and it hasn't let me down once, keeping up with multiple intensive programs simultaneously. I do play certain gpu intensive games on the laptop as well and there has never been any problems or concerns thus far. The system seems to cool well and keep up with very adequate and high quality framerates within all of the games I've played. There are some settings that absolutely need to be adjusted to enable certain features and stop the system from "conserving power" to an unnecessary degree, especially when you would prefer the systems full capabilities and maximum power utilization. I give the overall experience owning the laptop a 4 star rating not due to the need to personalize my settings or any of that but rather because I feel that any laptop at this price point and high end specifications it is ridiculous for it to not come with a Windows Professional operating system installed. Increasing my cost to fully utilize the operating system of this type of laptop just feels like a petty thing to pass on to your customers.

Have been trying to get a gpu for an upgrade since summer 2020 with no luck. So instead of getting a 3070 from a scalper for $1500 I just got a full laptop with a 3070. Upgrading from my desktop 970 and LOVING it. I don't mind it missing a webcam and the design is clean for a 'gaming' laptop. Also snagged a 1TB WD black to expand the storage to 2TB. Install was easy My only con is the partially plastic body. For the price, it could have been metal like MacBooks or razer. Battery life is also great but I usually stay plugged in for gaming performance.

I love having this compared to my old laptop. The graphics look great and it runs games very well. I think the only issues I’ve might have had are that the speakers seem fairly quiet and that the computer does not recognize the Nvidia graphics card. For the graphics it uses the integrated card instead.
