Customers are saying
Customers often highlight the excellent performance, impressive build quality, and long battery life of the ROG Zephyrus 15.6" QHD Gaming Laptop. Many also praise its powerful GPU, lightweight design, and vibrant display, along with the keyboard. However, some users mention that the laptop can get hot, and the fan noise can be noticeable. Other criticisms include the soldered RAM, less-than-stellar speakers, and the absence of a built-in webcam.

Overall performer
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the overall design of the laptop and has high performance. The gameplay is preety smooth with frame rate as high as 170hz which corresponds well with the 165hz display.

Great laptop that fits my needs perfectly
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love it! Been looking for a laptop that fits my needs and doesn't cram the "gamer" aesthetic in your face. Performance has been great, the design looks perfect to me. The only slight gripe I have is getting used to the spacing of the keyboard. The keys feel great to the touch but the spacing takes some getting used to. In the end 10/10

Fast and Reliable.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast and reliable. Those are the 2 most defining characteristics of my ASUS gaming laptop. AMD chips are so nice now, and the Nvidia 3070 is like greased lightning. This baby is so light for a gaming rig. I know this laptop will last me years as my last ASUS gaming rig is still running strong.

Nice Screen

ROG Review
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice laptop for gaming and business use. The only compliant is the fingerprint security which never works right out of the box. For being such an expensive device i would expect everything to work perfect almost. I really don't mind not having a built in camera for privacy reasons but hey the Ryzen 9 is extremely fast.

Backlight bleed, tight ports :/
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My experience is really mixed. I loved the design and feel of the laptop, excellent quality with one huge exception: backlight bleed on the panel. I read a bunch of reviews before I made my purchase, some of them talking about the bad quality control on the panels. My model had the same issue, super visible backlight bleed that I couldn't ignore - especially for paying a high price. A corner of the screen was especially bad that it looked almost green. The ports on the sides are also very tight, plugging in the usb dongle for my headset made me feel like I was going to break it. The keyboard and trackpad were amazing, easily my favorite thing about the laptop, and it's why I decided to purchase after using the display model in-store. Unfortunately I returned it, I really wanted to love it but I wish there was better attention put into the quality of the screen.

It does all the things
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to return one for a strange display issue, but the replacement is without issues so far. I'm not a fan of the updates possibly ruining my battery life like with previous models, but so far I can go all day with a single overnight charge for regular non-gaming stuff. Speaking of games, the display is pretty solid and there isnt anything I cant play on this yet. The thing i love the most is the minimalist design that hides the machines power behind a clean, professional look that I can take to meetings without getting strange looks like some do with all their garish LEDs and harsh angular bodied machines. So far its a good all arounder that doesnt slow down or run out of juice when i need it to fly.

Could be better.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Is hot and loud. Keyboard and screen broke in a short time. But it’s thin and cheap so, trade offs.

Great portable gaming laptop with QC Issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned this, after spending nearly a month with it. Pros Thin and Light Large mousepad Quiet in silent mode Relatively good performance Great Screen Cons Bass popping - Software didn't fix mine. Seems to be throttling on the CPU to 35W instead of 45W when using manual profile. Noticeable in MSFS 2020, BF V etc. Not much performance improvement compared to a 2070 Super laptop

It is like a jack of all trades.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The build quality is good and it looks like it is made of metal and the chassis has no flex. The trackpad is made of glass and is very accurate and responsive. The screen has good viewing angles, colors, and sharpness, but the pixel response time is not fast enough for 165Hz (measures 8.2ms). The biggest issue is the cooling system design. For whatever reason the designer of this laptop thinks it is a good idea to blow the hot exhaust directly below the LCD. It also means that if you have the lid just barely open you are blocking the exhaust with the bottom bezel of the screen.

Great Gaming Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Pc for the price. Have no issue gaming on AAA titles. Thermals run a bit hot but it does a good job cooling. Battery lasts a long time. I had an issue with another model that had bad backlight bleeding but it was exchanged. No issues with this one and for the price it’s well worth it.

Fulfills My Wishlist Perfectly
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the most I've ever paid for a laptop. My last laptop was a Dell Inspiron 15 gaming series model 7567, and this is quite the upgrade in comparison (1050ti to 3070 MaxQ, all plastic to metal/plastic builds, $900 vs $1900, etc). Though the price is 1k more, there are still some discrepancies to note. First, the build quality. Well made and solid chassis, but I saw the power button is sunk in and slightly crooked, the spacebar will make a "scratchy" noise when depressed a certain way, and the last one I wasn't expecting but is worth saying: if you use your laptop in your lap, with legs folded criss-cross or something similar and the bottom edge of the screen rests on bare skin, the corners are slightly sharp and uncomfortable. I can certainly change how I hold it, and while gaming it's on a cooling pad anyway, but for casual use this will be something I'll have to avoid. Second, the software. Out of the box and with all updates being current as of writing this review, the laptop will not go into sleep mode with either the FN+F11 key, selection from the main taskbar menu, or closing the lid. The screen turns off but the hard drive continues to show activity. Haven't found a way yet to make it sleep properly, but since it starts up so fast from complete power off I don't really mind. Having said that, the rest is sheer enjoyment! Love having a solid laptop again that doesn't have cracking, creaking plastic parts, can run games without breaking a sweat, and doesn't look disgusting after using it for a couple hours. I don't have the speaker popping issues as others have noted, and have yet to encounter any BSD's or other quirks. Will update if I find anything happening that's abnormal. Laptop was made in Jan. 2021

Great balance of power and portability
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The G15 is just a great combination of power and portability. I don't play a lot of competitive shooters, but the rig is able to handle Outriders on Ultra, Persona 5 Strikers, Half Life: Alyx, etc. without really breaking a sweat. I've also done a ton of Adobe work (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD) and everything is as snappy as my desktop gaming rig. Temp wise, I haven't seen it go above 90C when running HWMonitor so no real complaints there. Fans can be a bit noisy during heavy gaming, but nothing unexpected vs. other gaming laptops. When I'm doing regular office work, the fans never even spin up. Overall, no regrets with this laptop. Aside from missing the 3:2 monitor on my 15 inch Surface Book 2 for productivity work, I've enjoyed everything about this laptop. 5/5 would recommend to anyone not looking for pure benchmark scores.

Holy cow this thing is absolutely work the extra money. If you can, this device is worth saving for. Great GPU, great CPU, and the you can make the battery last under the Asus software

On The Go Gaming!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall the laptop performs very well. You get an amazing cpu with a good battery life. I would recommend this laptop over other ones if you're looking for something very portable, light gaming and has amazing QHD screen experience. This 3070 Max-Q performs closer to a 3060 desktop gpu.
