Wondering why the 1-3 star reviews..Its stellar! Ive played almost all the AAA titles and its a beast! Update drivers correctly and its a powerhouse. FSR is excellent with the pairing of the Nvidia 3070. Dont regret my purchase coming from a Razer 2070 Max-Q.

I bought this on black Friday 2021 with $300 off. This guy sold out very fast when it deal came out on Nov 1. I so love it. It's cheaper than your usual gaming laptop with these kind of specs. Was debating between G15 and M16 but went with this one. It's a gaming laptop for me so I prioritized the graphics card than the features that come with an Intel processor GA503QR-211.ZG15 vs gu603hm-211.zm16 I was looking for what to buy since I was on the market for a gaming laptop. Deciding if I should go with G15 or M16 as compared in this video since they have the same price of $1849.99 G15 advantage - RTX 3070, and battery life M16 advantage - webcam, gen 4 for NVMe, thunderbolt 4, and 16:10 aspect ratio with brighter screen Best Buy Black Friday 2021 deal. G15 - $300 off M16 - $350 off Since I'm going to use this for gaming (and it's called a Gaming Laptop), I went with the G15 although it's $50 more with deal.

This is the best laptop you can buy right now for the value, barely any other laptop in this price range (and even higher) performs as good as this one, most of my games run at 120-160fps, display is beautiful, speakers are unexpectedly decent and everything else is pretty good

Computer is compact, light but durable. I have had no issues with setup. The keys are satisfying to press but because of the depth, can cause typos if I am going too fast. The laptop does get hot even if I am not playing a game that is using much of the cpu. I attached a cooling pad to help remove heat but it still gets pretty hot. The battery life is average as it won't last for more than n hour if playing a game, but will last for up to six hours if I am working on a paper or searching the internet. The display is as you would expect but since it is not an HD display, even on ultra graphics 4k is not possible. I would recommend this for those who want a gaming laptop with the intent of playing most current games on ultra or max settings.

This laptop is very fast and has outstanding graphics. I originally had intended to wait for the 17" laptop, but someone I rely upon for IT hardware advice urged me to get this one instead because of the AMD Ryzen 9 graphics card. That was great advice and I'm happy I bought this one.

Atrocious quality, keyboard was broken ~ 8 months after purchase and ASUS refused to RMA the device. Laptop body frame and frame surrounding monitor are loose. Asus is no longer the gold standard for quality. Other laptop brands like MSI should be considered instead. When it does work, the laptop handles gaming extremely well, which is a shame.

This thing is a beast! I'm running Destiny, The Ascent, Horizon: Zero Dawn and others on max settings and 140+ FPS. It's also handling Windows 11 like a champ, even with the Ryzen bug the OS has (and will be fixed shortly). It's my favorite Gaming Laptop so far!

Sure the 3070 can't fully power the resolution and refresh rate on AAA games, but the screen is nice. I take my computer between work and home so having the lighter form factor is nice. If you just wanted a desktop replacement, there are better value for the performance elsewhere.

This machine is very responsive. It's sleek. The monitor is bright and crisp. I really like the soft touch lighted keypad. Now for the cons. No Camera! Really?!? I thought that is standard equipment?!? No media drive. Yes, I know DVDs have been out of style for sometime, but it's still a feature I miss. No numeric keypad. I use that almost on a daily basis, until now! Over all I like the computer, however, I feel there is room for improvement.

At first, the price point was more than my budget but a recommendation was to look at it as an investment and it sure has paid off. The laptop is well-built and compact with a little heft. So far, no complaints with the performance even while gaming.

Does exactly what I need it to do. Play games, software, and its mobile. Only cons no webcam, and speakers are not amazing. I tend to use headphones anyway. The screen is amazing, plenty of hubs, keyboard is comfortable, trackpad better than most laptops, and it performs.

Overall good performance, quick boot and long battery life. Works well in conservation and performance mode. Has a good balance of video card and CPU, so it doesn't use one to max while the other is running normally.

Very happy with this laptop. I have a Asus ROG desktop about 2 years old and really enjoyed Asus ROG products. Very reliable and fast. Though fan speed can be a little loud when in turbo mode. Solid, well built and nice looking machine.

Let me start this by saying this laptop was an upgrade for my severely outdated HP Elitebook 8470p for personal use, implying that the bar was set pretty low for standards. However, I also have a 2019 Dell Precision 7720 for work that I can use as a comparison. So far, this laptop is an outstanding performer and I will try and highlight a few things that may or may not be clear. The physical system is quite pleasant overall. It is not plastic, it's a magnesium/aluminum shell that offers a significant degree of rigidity and my unit has little to no flex or body creak. The keyboard is pleasant to use with a nice firm press but not too "clicky" or "noisy". One con I have noticed is if you don't hit the key dead on, but end up pressing a corner, the key sometimes doesn't register, but that is something I've noticed on my dell as well. The keyboard DOES have RGB backlighting, but it is not per-key so you can't go totally crazy with customization, but the lighting is decent and gets fairly bright. There is no number pad. At one point the description said it had one but the pictures clearly show it doesn't so...*shrugs*. The trackpad is terrific, its large, its smooth, and the left/right buttons are integrated into it. The button presses are very audible and tactile. I am also happy that you can press almost anywhere on the trackpad and it registers as a left-click, its only when you distinctly press on the lower right that you get a right-click, increasing the intuitiveness to some degree. The available ports are good enough: 2 type-A USB 3.0 10 gbps; 2 USB-C 10 gbps, both with power delivery and displayport capabilities (This model supports 100W USB-C charging); combined mic/headphones (meh), RJ-45 Ethernet, HDMI 2.0b, and a microSD card reader. Since this is an AMD platform, there is no thunderbolt, in case that is a deal breaker for you. The screen is pretty great, it gets bright enough (300 nits is acceptable for most scenarios, maybe not great for outdoor viewing), the 2K (2560x1440) resolution is such a sweet spot for a 15" screen and the colors look great. Plus the 165Hz refresh and 3ms response time really help to round out this screen to make it just a super pleasant experience. For some, it might not be good enough at any one thing, but it really nails it for an everyday carry laptop. The Battery is also a big plus to this laptop, on silent mode, running on the integrated AMD Graphics, I am getting 9-10 hours easily of basic use. If you try gaming, that goes quickly down to 1-3 hours, but that still ain't bad for some light on-the-go gaming. Plus the USB-C charging means you can recharge with an external battery pack. As for the internals, short of the fact that this is essentially running a heavily neutered RTX 3070 (think max-q), and the fact that early literature was all over the place with memory capacity (Yes, this unit has only 8 GB soldered on, maxing out your dual channel capacity to 16GB), the 5900HS is a killer CPU and eats most tasks for breakfast while sipping power, its simply amazing. The RTX 3070 beats last years 2070 max-q by about 12% (techspot.com) so that's a reasonable bump, but it is in no way comparable to the desktop 3070 with results showing it to be about 50% slower. Thermals are pretty okay. The GPU runs pretty cool, all things considered (maybe 80C max while gaming), but the CPU tends to run hot when it gets pushed (hitting 90+ C regularly, unless you have the fans maxed out). It sounds like this could vary by laptop as it seems Asus didn't have the greatest QC on the liquid metal application. My laptop seems okay, but I tend to prop it up to allow for better airflow when doing anything CPU intensive. Finally, the audio quality seems pretty good for a laptop. But there are some people who have issues with blown out speakers. I am one such person. If I am playing something with pretty heavy bass, the speakers start to misbehave. But I have found that not maxing out the volume (maybe leaving it in the 50%-70% range) helps minimize this and its still plenty loud at 50%. To conclude, I'm happy with this laptop. It's lightweight, built well, performs admirably, and has a range of features that meet my needs more than adequately. It may not be amazing at any one task, but it does everything I need it to do with ease.

Hard to get but worth the wait. After purchasing and directly comparing 4 other gaming type laptops over the past month or so, finally got the chance to purchase this Asus ROG newly design 2021 G15 w/ AMD 5000 series CPU and RTX 3070. Thanks Best Buy for “notification” option! I had returned all other laptops for various reasons like fan noise was pitchy and high, CPU’s were over strained, weight was too heavy, and everything else in between. Although nothing is perfect, this 2021 ROG G15 is as close to a complete package as you will get. No need to go through the highlights, I’m sure everyone knows them by now so I’ll instead highlight the concerns I had and how they were resolved. 1) Screen quality. I know it’s a QHD with 144Hz refresh rate but after getting used to the world of OLED and AMOLED on the previous laptops and of course the big TV, the IPS screen was initially just too dull. However, just some minor adjustments in the AMD Radeon software including lowering brightness increasing contrast, change color temp, etc made this screen in my opinion about 95% of what I was subjectively seeing on OLEDS. Sure, it doesn’t get as bright, but when is the last time you were blasting max brightness and with the matte finish on the screen it counters the need to go so high in NITs if you are in a brighter location. 2) Sound. Yes, this laptop like so many others have already commented on has speaker issues. But basically, you can handle this by doing 2 things. Update drivers and going to the included Dolby sound suite software and tweak the equalizer settings. After doing this, even this laptop at just 50% of volume is beating out the previous laptops I tried at 100%. 3) Use the included Armoury Crate, Dolby, and AMD software suites to tune this laptop in to your needs.

Overall, it is a good machine. However, you should be aware of poping sound in their speaker. This does not happen with the zeyphyrus G14. If you don't care much about this issue, i think it is a great laptop. For the lack of webcam, you can install epocam on your laptop and smartphone, which will perform much better in term of video quality when compare to a built in webcam.
