Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the excellent performance, impressive build quality, and long battery life of the ROG Zephyrus 15.6" QHD Gaming Laptop. Many also praise its powerful GPU, lightweight design, and vibrant display, along with the keyboard. However, some users mention that the laptop can get hot, and the fan noise can be noticeable. Other criticisms include the soldered RAM, less-than-stellar speakers, and the absence of a built-in webcam.

Good laptop, but not for VR.

This laptop was very nice when i got it. It plays games well. Its got a design that is both flashy and wont get you laughed out of a boardroom meeting. I bought this laptop with the intention to run some VR games on it. This is why i ended up returning it. I dont know the exact setup that they went with for how the ports are actually wired into the componets of the laptop. Here are some points of contention that i had. Out of the box my vr headset (Vive) stuttered ALOT. I would be sitting in the main menu for Beat Saber and it just would not stop jumping around. The 1 hdmi port is wired into the CPU's graphics and not the GPU's. You can get around this by using a adapter on the usb-C port which apparently is hooked into the GPU... i bought 2 seperate adapters to hopefully remedy this issues. It definitely helped but it still stuttered every few seconds. Trying to run things through separate ports wasnt working for me, so i tried running everything through the 2 Usb-C ports with a slew of adapters. Funny enough this helped a little bit too. But then a new issue arose. When the machine loads large amounts of data from the disk it seems to interfere with the gpu's frame timing. I have no idea if this was cause by power limitations or just priority issues software side. Either way it was noticeable qnd very weird. What did i think? Its a good laptop Looks good Preforms well Weird quirks with how the ports are set up A headache to get vr working well If you plan on playing non-vr games, go for it.

It’s the best gaming laptop for a price. Display is excellent QHD. 3070 rtx handles everything you throw at it. Runs hot while gaming. Recommend running it on turbo mode to keep it a bit cooler. Overall, a great portable laptop.

Weak 3070 performance. Cannot outperform my 2080 and super 2080 laptops. Beautiful laptop. I bought an open box and it runs extremely hot because the ID10T that bought it before me opened it up and half butt removed the liquid metal thermal paste and put regular paste on it. Why are people so dumb? Now I have to return it.

Considering that I had not upgraded my computer for almost ten years, comparing this laptop to my previous laptop is like comparing a Porsche to a Pinto. Everything other reviewers are saying is true, it's lightening fast, super quiet, built well, and top of the line. I've paired it with a 27" monitor for home use (because I'm blind as a bat and the 15" screen it a bit small for me), and the HDMI output is flawless. I'm not a twitch or competitive gamer, but if I was, I think this rig would still suit me just fine, especially for the price. Kudos to the employee who helped me pick it out and get it ordered. I wish I remembered his name so I could thank him. My only complaints about this laptop are minor. There are only two full size USB ports, a problem that was easily fixed by adding a USB hub. It also has no built in web cam, again, an easy fix by adding an external. Other than those issues, it's been smooth sailing. Love it!

Amazing laptop. Does everything I need it to do for college as an engineering major. Crazy powerful for gaming and work. Screen is beautiful and the perfect resolution to performance ratio. Keyboard feels amazing and is fully RGB backlit

This is a great upgrade from my 2019 Dell G5 5587 that had an good CPU (i7-8700u if I remember right) but a mediocre at best GPU in a mobile 1050ti. This ASUS laptop can run X-COM 2: War of the Chosen even a little better than my desktop with it's 2060 Super 8 GB can and X-COM 2: WOTC was a game my old laptop could barely run The display looks amazing and is definitely on par with the dual 27" 1440p displays I daily drive with my desktop in terms of overall quality The major downsides of this laptop to me so far are: - Fingerprint reader in my unit seems to not work - No webcam Overall this is a laptop I would definitely recommend, especially if you can get it around the $1550 price range that I got it from Best Buy at. I'm not sure I would pay $1800/$1900 for this but for $1550 it's a good deal.

Great laptop. Does everything I need it to. Some serious gaming along with great quality screen. Can do work too, without it being too flashy and doesn’t standout. Battery lasts about 2-3 hours while gaming Highly recommend

It’s a good computer. It charges through downloads and loading screens and the graphics are beautiful. Even on newer games like Baulders gate where they are still beta testing it has little to no lag as they refine it. Way better than my old peice of junk.

Needed to upgrade after retiring my old Sager from college. My old one still holds up but the battery life never did. The goal with this purchase is battery life and performance when needed. Did a lot of research and debated between this and the G14 models with 3000 series GPUs. I decided with the G15 as I still wanted a decent sized screen. Scouring reddit posts and forums I was able to find settings that optimized the performance and battery life for the system. Without gaming a solid 7-9 hours depending on activity such as engineering apps or streaming. I think you'd be fine with a G14 version if you're alright with the size or plan to dock it to a monitor. However, for gaming on the go and having decent screen real estate with some power packed in, the G15 is a great selection.

Great device. Beware of buying open box, as Asus, which already prevents you from purchasing their warranty upgrade, will not even honor the whole 1 year warranty, only offering a 90 day warranty. I believe Best Buy would make good on the remainder of the year, but didn't want to deal with that potential headache.

Amazing machine for gaming and everyday use good battery life smooth trackpad and amazing value for the specs. The cpu could have been cooled better as it runs just slightly too hot for comfort on low loads but doesnt throttle on higher loads either though

Very fast and overall good performance. When playing heavy games it can get a little bit loud but always maintaining the frames. I can stream with a monitor plugged in and no problem at all. It has plenty of ports for every other device you need.
